Classic build. I’m in the process of making several mini workbenches for several of the work carts at work. I’m in the aviation industry and sometimes I need a small bench to transfer fittings for hydraulic pumps, Integrated Drive Generators(IDG’s) and other things. The rear of a truck hitch or cement floor is getting old for me. I’m also making a mini carpenter’s bench and I’ll definitely incorporate your ideas in it. Thanks.

I like projects from reclaimed wood. Except for power drills and a hand router, I'm working in a small space without power tools, so this table may be just beyond my reach and skills, but I enjoyed watching and may steal some of your ideas down the road.

Your crackling masculinity of vocal resonance is at a decibel level reserved for trail drivers pushing cattle through Texas. You woke me up from my autoplay. Worse, you've made me covet. COVET. Now, I have to go roaming the streets searching for an oak futon in a city where cheap metal and phony oak are supremely suckered onto the earnest but unknowing. The oak drawers I salvaged in the rain three days ago turned out to be chipboard with oak veneer. That's a beautiful job, Andrew.

Good work. A few suggestions on technique. You can save a bit on planing by using a plastic dead blow mallet to bang on the wood on glue up after clamping. The wood likes to move around as more pressure is put on the object. Also, the grain of the legs go cross the grain of the top. If you create a slot by wallering out the holes lengthwise on the legs, it will allow expansion/contraction as the season changes. Thanks for sharing your project.

Enjoyed your work and commentary. Have you ever tried to use a vinegar-steel wool mixture to stain-dye oak? Soak the wool in vinegar over night, then lather it up the next day. The liquid doesn’t look like much the next day but works great.

not a criticism, just an observation: with the speed and angle of the camera on the table saw, you could see the blade and fence deflect. It makes you wonder why it's so important to align the fence within a few thousands of an inch. :) Nice job.

This is the age of mini workbenches and people that still believe that red sawblades are the best because so much YTers use them ( Freud is owned by bosch and the diablo blades are overpriced for my opinion) Nice work!

Isn’t a mini workbench only as stable as the surface you clamp it to? I have considered making one as I have a small shop, but that question always causes me to pause.

I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great kzfaq.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.
