A little bit of discussion on construction set-up for those looking for a bit more info. He mentioned that the bearing on the pulley's should not be over-greased,once a year being adequate. Also when the saw blade has a perfect set on the teeth, the cut surface is very smooth.

Could be the nicest custom Mill I've seen. Practical, simple strong. Seems this is the result of a more than a few years of iteratve improvement.

How do them flange bearings hold up on the band wheel shafts? Wondering if I should have 1.5" pillow block bearings on both sides of the band wheels or use that design of both flange bearings behind the band wheels. How does that design hold up?

Thanks Roger. I drove through Wisconsin on the way to my CNC training in Minnesota a couple of years ago. We hit one heck of a nasty thunderstorm!
@rogerw2101
@rogerw2101 7 жыл бұрын
Canuck Woodchuck Yeah we get a few real nasty storms but not to many. At least where I'm at. It s far enough to the north that they kind of miss us. I'm about 80 miles north of Minneapolis St Paul . Were a few miles from the St croix river and it seams that when storms are heading for us that when it hits the river it breaks up splits us and goes to the south and north of where we live in Grantsburg . I never got to learn CNC 's . I worked in a Machine shop and learned to run Acme Screw machines . I made about a million Pioneer Hydraulic Quick couplers and air hose fittings . I got out of there after 26 years and took over crop farming , and tractor tire repair , I've been wanting to build a mill for a long time on a trailer house frame that I have using the motor and hydrostatic pump and controls from a LP floor sweeper and a shaft drive Yamaha 1100 . any way. If you get any other videos please post them Thanks very much Roger Wagenius Grantsburg Wi.

Very impressive bandsaw mill Canuck woodchuck! It's nice to read only positive comments that are well deserved. And all of them speak the truth about this home made mill, that works almost like an industrial one. How possible would it be to buy plans to replicate it? Hopefully, they're available?
