Ah yes, doing more than one thing in a day. Age 16: Wake up at 7, skip breakfast so we can get a good tennis court with no defects in the pavement; stop for lunch. Right after lunch, play another few sets.Ride our bikes home. Shoot baskets until dinner. Go roller skating after dinner, come home around midnight, do it all over again the next day. Today, that would kill me.

I see my 71 years a a perk. I use to it to excuse any number of blunders as I go about my day. I always works and people want to help me out. It can work wonders. I just tell them I'm old and can't hear well or that my vision is not as good as it used to be and I get to say anything I want I want because I really don't give a crap what anyone thinks of my behavior. It's not a mean thing, it's just acknowledging that I've lived long enough to have firm opinions on whatever I want to discuss.

If most of the audience were older, I am glad he did not comment on the room full of Q-Tips or call all the silver-haired women platinum blondes. I developed some material for a comic I dated briefly: "Have you seen the price of funerals, especially caskets? Outrageous! I am going to special order a 6 ft by 3 ft Tupperware container with a locking lid. Put me inside it, pop the lid to let the air out, and bury it. I'll stay fresh for decades and no worms can get inside. Win-win. It beats my initial plan to donate my corpse to a body farm where they encourage the maggot population."

My dad died at age 87. His explanation was, you've seen the same stupid things repeated generation after generation and you are just quite simply over it. To hell with the whole bunch of them.

Two things in one day??!! Totally agree. It should be: Go out and get groceries, come home full of a sense of accomplishment, wipe the kitchen countertops, think "I´ve outdone myself today", proudly prepare for dinner, lounging and bed.
