Beautiful. Your white which is water base is lifting because you have an oil stain underneath. Water base shouldnt go on top of oil. Other way round is ok. Otherwise gorgeous

What brand of matte top coat did you use?

Water base polyacrylic in matte finish

You really should be using blue shop towels instead paper towels. The shop towels don’t leave lint behind whereas a regular paper towel does. Or even a staining pad would be better to use.

Hi there, Love your videos when do you use the white wash first and when do you use the grey stains first? It seems you have done it both ways? I have a cream pedestal pottery barn table and 6 golden oak colored chairs, that need to be updated for a room that has grey walls and tumbled marble grey and and cream tile floors. Ideally, I would like to do as little work on the table and chairs-as possible to get the best look. LOL The chairs are in good shape but I thought I would have to strip them for them to not look to yellow in the room, but maybe I can do this finish and leave them or use chalk paint and paint? It seems like 6 chairs would be a ton of work to strip or sand but maybe painting is a easier? Will the chairs chip if I don't strip them first? Open to suggestions. Thanks!

Hi Shannon. I followed the instructions to a tee. I called minwax as I was not able to find the white wash pickling stain and was advised the design series whitewash replaced the pickling wash product. Well….. it’s been 6 days since I applied the whitewash and the table top is still sticky…tacky. Do you know what I can do to fix it? I’ve emailed minwax and am still waiting on a response. Thanks Lorraine

Will this technique work on laminate ? I don’t think my table is real wood ! 😂
