Olde Towne East is a historical neighborhood located in the Near East Side just East of Downtown Columbus along Broad St. With the proximity to Downtown and ease of getting around via public transportation residents love the area for it's walkability and access to everything Columbus has to offer. Check it out!

About Me
After growing up in Central Ohio, the natural progression is to move to Columbus, but this was a very different town in the early 2000s. After surviving the Great Recession, Columbus has been on an absolute tear. While the recession was rough, we tended to fare better than many other cities partially due to the diverse amount of employers in the area. That, along with a focus on redevelopment of areas close to Downtown, population growth and the relatively cheap cost of living have helped buoy the Central Ohio area.
It doesn't seem that long ago in 2009 when residents were stoked to get Yuengling Lager to the area. Fast forward a short decade and today we have over 50 local breweries and our own "Ale Trail". That is just one of the fantastic changes.
Leaving for ten years, I left more or less a cow town and returned to a City bustling with boutique shops, coffee houses and restaurants, a renewed focus on fitness and somehow it seemed sunnier. In fact, it was such a cool city that we decided to stay.

Hey Andy! Great videos. I just subscribed to your channel. I live in the burbs, always have but now I want to move closer to downtown. I have been looking at homes in Olde Towne East, Near East, Southern Orchards, King-Lincoln areas, etc. I was in contract on a property flip but the inspection turned up issues so I terminated. Question for you- what is your opinion on property flips and how do I know if the investor did a good job? I just don't want to keep throwing away money on inspections only to find issues and have to walk. Should I keep looking at property flips? Or find a lesser priced home in need of improvements in a nicer, safer neighborhood and hire a good, reputable contractor to do the work?

Hey Andy! Another great video! Question: Where exactly is that Trolley Barn? I don't remember area when I was a kid growing up in CBUS. We used to go to Franklin Park from time to time and and knew some people on the East Side but seeing that place In your video was completely new to me. I will definitely have to check that place out when I come to Columbus again.

Thank you Indigo!! If you take Kelton North from I70 you would pass the Trolley Barn just before getting the the SouthWest corner of Franklin Park. When are you coming back?
