Oleksandr Usyk - Is a Ukrainian professional boxer. He reigned as the undisputed cruiserweight champion from July 2018 until he vacated his titles in March 2019, being the first cruiserweight in history to hold all four major world championships-the WBA (Super), WBC, IBF and WBO titles. As an amateur, Usyk won gold medals at the 2011 World Championships and 2012 Olympics, both in the heavyweight division. He turned professional in 2013 and won the undisputed cruiserweight championship in his 15th professional fight in 2018. Three of his titles were won during the inaugural World Boxing Super Series, in which he won the Muhammad Ali Trophy, as well as The Ring magazine and lineal cruiserweight titles. For his achievements, Usyk was named the 2018 Fighter of the Year by Sports Illustrated, ESPN, The Ring, and the Boxing Writers Association of America.

Technique and ring control is underrared nowadays for heavyweights, they think "i got power i'm the best". Until they meet a boxer they can't even hit and hits back.Usyk will play with Joshua wait and see🥊🥊🥇

I really like this guy! He’s an absolute joy to watch in & outside of the ring. (if you haven’t seen any of the videos of his little dances yet, then I’d strongly recommend it!) Usyk in my opinion has to be one of the best talents in boxing at the moment

Stev3 I am some what. Really impressed with his movement and punch output. Still remains to be seen if he can do it at HW? CW don’t get any shine. I’ve seen a lot of potential in many fighters but moving up into another weight division doesn’t always translate well.

People like you just don’t know boxing. I was like this too until I actually learned boxing. Lmfao. Not to mention that gene Tunney would be a light heavyweight by today’s standard. most of today’s fighters below heavyweight rehydrates 10~20ibs after the weigh in. There’s Not even a modern stance during that era. All upright crude hands down and almost all of them were flat footed and throws slappy punches mostly. Etc. can’t compare modern boxing to more than half century ago, the techniques steroids etc have become way more advanced.

@@YouAintGotNoTegridyBoi don’t get me wrong Usyk is fantastic, he’s easily one of my favorite fighters right now but it’s hard for me to say he’s the modern day Gene Tunney. We just have to see how his career at heavyweight unfolds before I can say that. Usyk definitely has the potential though.

Amazingly skilled boxer , I believe he will go all the way in the heavyweight division. Definitely the most skilled with fury second , third up for grabs. Let's see if he gets the shot at joshua. Fury retires after 2 more bouts.

The bravest heavyweight in the boxing history he’s not afraid of anyone in his division. He beat Joshua twice and ready to fight with Tyson. No matter if he lose, he will already be great cause he’s not afraid to fight against Tyson. I like his technical skills and his footwork. I doubt Mayweather could do the same he is always out of the fight and tries to avoid the fight he’s so boring I don’t see actions in his bouts

You think Usyk is braver than someone like Muhammad Ali who had to fight Foreman, Liston, Frazier, Norton, Holmes etc? He's not close to that level in terms of bravery but he is a great champion unquestionably.

@@hanzagod before Ali came to professional boxing, everybody had said the same thing about Marciano and Joe Louis. Although Ali’s career is great, but it’s not better than theirs. I can admit Ali was the bravest champion in his time, but right now Olexander Usyk is writing his boxing history and he deserves to be a champion. I’m not Ukrainian and have never been to Ukraine, I hope he will take all belts

I don't know what you think Usyk should do, use his special powers to manifest Frazier to come back & fight him? Usyk has spent his whole career on the road after he rose to prominence. He fought AJ in UK, fought Glowacki in Poland, Briedis in Latvia, Gassiev in Russia. How about that for boxing bravery? Put up with all sorts of insults & waste of time from Fury to make the fight happen including accepting a ridiculous 70-30 split before Fury chickened out. Meanwhile his country is going through a horrible war I respect Ali for his brave stance against the Vietnam war & sacrificing years of his prime for that stance but in the boxing ring Usyk is no less brave

Usyk is a complete fighter. Power foot work ring IQ. He will do very well in the heavy weights. He needs more agresion like what Tyson had but U has patience n we will see. Get ready Wilder cuz Wilder throws his power R hand and is open for a couter puncher. Look at Ortiz with Wilder's next fight. If Wilder wins I'm behind him but he has always been ready for a counter puncher to nail him good. Remember Jose Diaz Cuban said that. Best wishes to you and everyone.

I think hes going to become undisputed at heavyweight too. Just wait on it. He may not be the biggest but his skill set wont make it matter. Like loma unifying at lightweight against bigger guys when he really should be at feather or superfeather.

i think ruiz pressure speed and combinations and durability wont be a problem with usyks footwork and angles if he can take his punch with fury i think its a mismatch the last man walin was 6'5 big and strong slugger ..a slick boxer like usyk is easy money for fury in an extremely boring fight with wilder i think he gets koed brutally by wilder the only reason fury stayed away from wilders shots was cuz he fought tall leaning back and stiff armed him when he was coming in kinda like a larry holmes style defense but usyk is shorter than both hes gonna have to take it to him and with his leaning forward high guard he will surely get hit with a windmill shot ofc anything can happen in boxing and i would love to see him prove me wrong because i like his style the most

Triche H: some good points, but in fact Fury did NOT lean back to avoid Wilder's right hand. At least 75% of the time he ducked *under* the shots. Watch the highlights. In fact, he did not mix in enough different moves, and in Rd 12 Wilder finally timed it. Fury's problem is lack of power, so he cannot get big punchers out early. You give ANY huge puncher 12 rounds to find your button and they WILL. The key to beating power punchers is to beat them up coming in early in the fight. lots of body shots, to take their wind and reduce their aggression. But Fury didn't do enough damage, and Wilder was able to carry his power all the way through the fight. Hell, Fury beat on Otto Wallin like a heavy bag for FIVE rounds and couldn't take him out. Wallin's face was hardly even bruised in the post-fight presser. Fury is an outstanding boxer, but his inability to take fighters out will limit his time at the top. Heavyweights just HAVE to be able to end fights early.

@@jakemitchell1671 because wilder close to height to fury and wilder wa throwing overhands to catch fury with the hook when he ducked while a more technical usyk would be throwing straights because he is fundamentally correct in his style and doesnt want to expose himself with wide overhands like wilder does put usyks hand speed is slower than wilder so unorthodox techniques wont help him

Out of Wilder Fury and Joshua I agree I think Fury style would be the hardest for usyk to overcome the one thing I appreciate about usyk that I also see in Tyson Fury is Never Off balance and never really loads up on his punches people don't realize how much discipline and control it takes to do that
