@@DannishPlaysReturns how I did it, is to not have easy access to junk food, or tell other people that you won't eat junk food again, so you won't be eating it in front of those people, wich lowers your chances of eating it. And just try to slowly eat less of it.

Hey Tony! Got an additional thing to add to the breathing technique. Learning this playing trumpet, which requires A LOT of breath control and power, and applied it to my boxing. Stick your belly out as you breath in. It moves your diaphragm down further than breathing with your chest and makes more room in your lungs for air!

Hi Tony. I do some routines with clients using both ortradox and Southpaw stance. This strengthens the left shoulder (ortradox) and right shoulder (Southpaw) which will give more strength to the jab and hook. It also provides symmetry in the body. It's only a fitness/strength drill. I agree unless your naturally talented at switching stance you should stick to your natural stance in a fight👍

Great video; Q's and A's get quickly to the point. It's always good to have a Boxing coach though, home training with dvd's is ok but it removes you from the fellowship of the boxing gym, new friends, the guidance from an experienced coach, the one who will point out the mistakes that you can't see for yourself. Over here in Derbyshire, England, it costs pence to join a grass roots (spit and sawdust) Boxing club and there is usually one in every village/town, no expensive fees or excess traveling. As for pre-workouts and electrolytes, fine if you really need them, but perhaps you don't need them for every workout or need expensive ones - fresh water is usually what your body is shouting out for; you can have too much of a good thing. Any chance of a video comparing old school training methods with new ? Regards and best wishes, E.

Im equally bad, both orthodox AND southpaw. 😂 Seriously though, I find training to a metronome or drum loop is terrific. Setting the rhythm to, say, 175 beats per minute encourages you to maintain the tempo and not take your foot off the gas for full 3 min rounds. And also, play! For example, there's 4 beats to every bar, so jab (1)- slip (2) -jab (3)- hook (4).... etc. Maybe the use of music/ beats in training would be an interesting subject for a video!

Hey Tony, what do you think about making a video with reels submitted by people who began training with your videos alone? Months ago i wanted to join a boxing gym , for various reasons i didn't (very small space, to many people, etc).I started training with your videos for three weeks, then i went and saw some videos posted by them on Fb and noticed tons of mistakes on the students(no hip/shoulder movement ,stance, no head movement, and others) even some on the coach when he was hitting the bag. Then i went: i saved time and money and more important ,kept my self away from learning bad habits. Cheers coach !!

During a bout, do the judges tend to give some consideration to a well intended punch that gets blocked but appears to be having an affect on the defending boxer? Example: Marciano, Dempsey and others were known to have such raw punching power they would actually damage opponents arms from frequent impact.

Word of mouth isn’t always the way to know a gyms good, I did Muay Thai for 6 years at this professionally run gym that had a great reputation but the thing was….they barely taught…most of the session was exercise, doing what you want on the bags and then freestyle pad work where another guy in the gym is telling you what to do and some unstructured sparring there was very little coaching of technique and after a while I left and went to another gym. A much smaller gym that barely does anything on social media, barely gets 10 people in each class but it was a million times a better gym. The coaching was great I learned so much more in a few months there than I had In years at the other place. The coach just wasn’t bothered about posting to social media or getting huge numbers he just wanted to coach and still now he’s the best coach I ever worked with

You mean a switch hitter? Why not watch some switch hitter boxers, and see how they use it to their advantage? I haven't started boxing yet, but I've always trained both sides when I do something physical. I used to do things in a southpaw stance when I did martial arts(even though I'm right handed), I had no clue about the different stances until years later. So I train both sides. Watch some switch hitters, that's what I'm planning to do.
