An entire season of Haikyuu! devoted entirely to ONE MATCH?!?! I'm here for it. I'm so excited to finally see Ushiwaka play, and to be honest, this will be the first time I see him with anybody. Every time we have seen him so far, he has been completely alone, so I definitely want to learn more about the eclectic group of Shiratorizawa.
I really hope the Karasuno boys can get it together and not be tooooooo nervous!!

Not a fan of ads. And not a fan of the sneaky way to bring it. I know nothing about this company, so let's not assume they cook babies for money. Learning languages is indeed extremely important. I should know, I would have missed so much in my life without it. I love your casts in general so I hate being disappointed in you. Still, I wish more people could realize how toxic ads are. How unnatural and dangerous it is to plant an idea into the brain of unsuspecting people, in the most inconspicuous way. How making a habit and justifying lies for money is slowly letting us, as a society, making our virtue weak. I wish we could forbid ads, but I'm not naive. I think we can at least fight against it's worst tendencies. I think we can deal with this without the lies. Please, consider this in case of a next sponsoring. You can just keep it obvious and clear. Starting with a transparent sponsoring flag, and allowing people to directly skip to the actual content. Sure, announcers might like it less, they might pay less or not get back to you. You might end up with less people clicking the link and buying the app and earning you money. But those who would, they would be better informed, prepared. They would be more in a state of chosing to do so rather than being tricked to do so. I do think in the end, you are one who respect her audience. I hope you'll see my point.

@@huyxiun2085 1. There is a sponsor notification at the top left of the screen at the very beginning of the video. 2. She mentions she's partnered with them. 3. Your statement assumes viewers aren't intelligent or discerning enough to see an ad, know it's an ad, or decide if they would like to purchase the thing advertised on their own. 4. I am personally a fan of timestamps, but it has nothing to do with skipping ads.

Ok a lot of people don't get the Benkei thing so I try to do this for every reactor that gets to this point as well as their audience. "Ushiwaka" the nickname given to Ushijima Wakatoshi in this show is the childhood name of a legendary historical Samurai from Japanese history. Ushiwaka was known for a great feat of being able to make predigious leaps such as when he was said to have jumped over 8 boats in a single bound. Having Ushi and Waka in his name and playing a sport where jumping is important made Ushiwaka a greatname for Wakatoshi. Benkei was a retainer to Ushiwaka. they have a meeting sorta like Robin Hood and Little John out on a bridge. He was said to be a mountain of a man who carried 7 weapons on his back and would never back down. It is said he died standing protecting the door to the room where Ushiwaka committed seppuku in order to not be captured in his final battle. It is said that he stood there so fiercly no one thought he was dead until someone went up to talk to him the next day and he finally fell over.

Seeing her game sense allowing her to understand key moments of the anime before they are explained is astonishing. 21:45 The thing about Ushijima is that he's always honest to a fault, which tends to come off as 'asshole-ish' more often than not because of just how blunt his delivery is. As far as Goshiki (the first year) is concerned, Ushijima is his rival that he wishes to beat, but the only real way to 'beat' him while being on the same team is to outshine him in the match. It's basically their version of 'friendly competition,' but for the team chemistry of Shiratorizawa, it works.

hello! Sara❤ I'm sorry if the English is strange with the translation app. I am a Japanese living in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, where Karasuno High School is located! From 1-1 when you uploaded the Haikyuu video, I'm grateful that you've been enjoying it together in real time ^^! (I'm trying my best to listen to your English) I love your reaction, your commentary and your love for the details of the characters. It's nice to see a lot of impressions about detailed descriptions that other reactors don't notice at all. And even if the country and language are different, seeing Sarah's honest goosebumps and tears makes me smile. The gymnasium that appears in the anime as "Sendai City Gymnasium" actually exists just like in the anime, and is located near my house. Haikyuu fans from all over Japan are visiting there. By the way, "Sendai City" where Karasuno High School is located is the place where the big earthquake and tsunami occurred. The city and its people are now recovering well, but I'm also very happy that Sendai is the stage! When you wear the Haikyu mascot on your bag, many people will say "I'm a fan too!" I'm really looking forward to the news that Haikyuu will be made into a movie. From now on, I'm looking forward to Sarah's KZfaq, reactions, and more!❤

So a little explanation about "Benkei"-- Ushijima Wakatoshi's name is shortened by folks to "Ushiwaka", which is a reference to the historical Military Commander from the 1100s, Minamoto no Yoshitsune. Yoshitsune was known as Ushiwakamaru in his youth, and is the subject of many legends. Yoshitsune had a right-hand man who was just as famous and powerful, a beast of a warrior monk called Mushashibo Benkei, who pledged his undying loyalty to him after Yoshitsune defeated him in a duel. It's almost an archetypal pairing: Yoshitsune and Benkei, Gilgamesh and Enkidu, King Rama and Hanuman, etc. Anyway, If Ushijima is Ushiwaka, then Leon, the other spiker, must be his Benkei. ----- Yeahhhhh 5 sets! The fifth set goes to 15 instead of 25.

from what Hinata said to shiratorizawa's player Leon he gave him the nickname Benkei... 日本語でのイントロ、ナイスサプライズでした!Since there weren't any major problems with the subs this ep, gonna just leave my support & not my usual opinions about the translations. Tsukishima showing his excitement in his own way by adjusting his goggle-glasses, the starting players being called out, & everyone coming to cheer are some of my fav parts from this very hype-you-up ep. Just gonna add that the Karasuno students & faculty came to cheer this match not only because it's the finals, but also because it's being held on a Sat. Some people seem to feel sad that no one seems to care enough to come for the earlier matches, but if you're not either on the team (but didn't even make the bench) or in the official school cheering club, you don't get exempt from classes. Similar thing applies to family members, too, since many wouldn't be able to get off from work etc on a week day, especially for anything less than the finals.

It is not official, but Onodera (Japanese men's national team MB) said he feels Hyakuzawa is himself. Onodera went to Tohoku high school, the powerhouse of Miyagi and the model of Shiratorizawa, and Furudate( author of Haikyuu) came to the school to collect data when he was a student. They have some similarities, such as +2m players from Miyagi, started playing volleyball in high school.

I'm super excited for you to reach season 3. I always think of Ushiwaka when I think of you. Lefty playing on the right side, best player in the area in high school. Nishinoya did pick up the hit from Ushiwaka, but I think he's having problems with the lefty spin and it came off his receive weird. We're going to see a lot of Ushiwaka. I can't wait for you to react to the Karasuno boys trying to handle the lefty.

You're about to meet so many awesome players, I'm excited to see your fierce defense of Ushiwaka since you're a kindred tall, lefty, powerful opposite hitter number 5 indeed, keep an eye on him bangs boy is trying to say, like Hinata does to Kageyama or Asahi, that he wants to surpass Ushijima (Ushiwaka is his nickname that his teammates call him) in ability. Ushijima is a very literal person, so he responds sincerely, telling him to do his best, because Ushijima knows how much better he is right now and he won't be surpassed this season has my absolute favorite outro sequence, it's a bop
@SarahPavanVolleyball
@SarahPavanVolleyball Жыл бұрын
I'm feeling a deep connection to Ushiwaka already (you will see in episode 2 🙈). I'm definitely getting Hinata intensity vibes from bangs boy, but is he saying he wants to be better than Ushijima eventually, or now? The outro is amazing... I love the visuals too. I'm undecided on the intro right now though. I hate change 😂
@theclockworkheart
@theclockworkheart Жыл бұрын
@@SarahPavanVolleyball I think Bangs Boy (Goshiki) is saying that he wants to prove NOW, during the match, that he deserves to be the ace of the team (which #5 laughs at because no way is he going to surpass Ushijima, and certainly not during this game -- and it's also just so forthright/confrontational when most people tend to keep such statements to themselves). So while it's meant to be a little naive and forward of him, it's also not meant to be taken as a bad thing, I don't think. The author of Haikyuu really admires people with an athlete's conviction and determination, and a sheer desire to win or be the best. Whereas that kind of attitude might rub "normal" people the wrong way, the author sees it as an ultimately positive thing if backed up by hard work and genuine effort, and treats characters who are grappling with their own intensity and drive with kindness.
@Much_Ado

@@theclockworkheart So long as it doesn't result in detrimental plays for the team, yeah (like how Kageyama was at the start of the show)
@theclockworkheart
@theclockworkheart Жыл бұрын
@@Much_Ado No I think that's part of it, actually! Oikawa pointed out last game that Kageyama's greatest weakness -- that relentless drive -- is also his greatest strength. It might have pushed away his teammates, but once he grows, it becomes something that sets him apart and pushes him to greater heights. I don't think Furudate was saying that it's good that he pushed his teammates away, or that that kind of behavior is acceptable; but Furudate looks at people with that competitive intensity and thinks, "ah, that's an athlete." Good and bad, for better or worse. Giving the characters a chance to grow and become the best versions of themselves, that's the kindness I meant!
@Much_Ado
@Much_Ado Жыл бұрын
@@theclockworkheart I think that's all true, _under_ the assumption that someone has that growth. Sure, Kageyama did have that growth, and that's what's led him and his team to the top. But to me, Haikyu makes it clear that "drive to succeed" is not the be-all-end-all, and if you can't work with your team, it doesn't matter how passionate you are. Yes, to get to the top, you _do_ need that intensity. But it's not _all_ you need, and it can't get you there on its own.
