What an amazing music it is and was and always will be. The 80s gave us the best music and memories that some of us cherish forever and others wish they were part of that amazing era in entertainment. This is a great song, one of many, that brings back incredible memories and nostalgic feelings. I just turned 57 and love it just as much now as I have before. Ageless and timeless beautiful music.

@Anton Gibbs Depeche Mode were one of the top synth-pop bands in the early eighties, with one of the founding members, Vince Clarke, being a pioneer in the field! Depeche Mode were far more successful in the 80's than any of the other bands mentioned. 'Yes', on the other hand should not have been included - they were a rock band more popular in the 70's, and New Order were more New Wave/Alternative, only later becoming more synth orientated. Yazoo should have been included in that list, another top synth-pop band from the early 80's, at the same time as OMD.

As a teenager of the 80s may I therefore suggest that you check out the album this is from - 'Architecture and Morality' - find the remastered version and immerse yourself in some of the best experimental electro-pop of England in the 80s. The following album - ' Dazzle Ships' - was so experimental it became somewhat controversial amongst OMD fans but still one of the best moments of the 80s for me. Enjoy!

- Joan of Arc is a heroine known to the four corners of the world. This young girl fought and she has sacrificed her life for a cause that she believed to be just. She has shown exemplary bravery, an iron will and fidelity to her faith, the King and her land. His admirable fight and his tragic end touch all the hearts and make some tears flow. One can only bow to this figure at the symbol noble and legendary. His story should inspire every human being whatever his skin color or religion, his social level or place of life. Joan of Arc is an icon and a Saint for the eternity. She will be perhaps recognized and considered in the future as a universal heritage. (Google Translation from French to English)

@@sonnydean3187 Well, on May 30th, 1431 there was no America. I hope Americans still know where they come from. And Christopher Columbus (1492) was not the John the Baptist who baptized and blessed America. Jesus is not from Hollywood either, but from Nazareth ;-)
@sully000110 ай бұрын
@@MaoZiyuanSuzhouhere's the thing, Christopher Columbus didn't discover America. That information is outdated and portrayed by the media, Leftist liberals and idiots. The Viking explorer Leif Erikson set foot on North America half a millenia before Columbus. Sounds like you, and most Asians and Europeans think real America is LA and NYC. That's where you go when you visit. No, the real America lays between those festering boils of cities, and to the south. Those are the hearty people who came from all races, cultures, and vary in skin colors that represent the entire world.

Ty chyba w boga i kościół katolicki wierzysz!

Una obra maestra auténtica de los 80. Una canción incatalogable. Del estilo personal OMD, pero con una temática y un acabado místico totalmente increible. Te transporta al cielo. La mejor época de la música aquellos años

This is by far the moodiest and mesmerizing song OMD ever did and even though they have a ton of great songs, this is by far my favorite! I saw them on this A & M tour of the US back in the early 80;s and they were awesome, Andy was (is) quite the dancer (in that Ian Curtis sort of way...)

And they were barely out of their teens when they wrote this. Something magical and spiritual ran through OMD during the writing of A&M

I was lucky enough to see them in Oxford in the mid eighties, can't recall what year exactly. Love their music.
