African braiders in NYC have been doing this parting method and removing teeth from combs for agesssssss. This is a classic parting method for us box braid girls back in the 90s. She did good👍🏽

Girlfriend I was just about to post the same thing but something told me to scroll down in the comments first because I’m sure someone else will post it and you did. I’m from NYC and my African hair braiders has been doing this parting method and missing tooth comb parting for years it’s called the half moon part. I’ve been doing this parting as well when I install braids in clients hair.

Wow. How selfless of her to share her hacks so freely. Much appreciated. I hate pulling the big locs through the base of my braids esp by my edges so her tips are priceless. The comb hack and the removal tips are also💡moments. Thanks to both of you! God bless!

OMG... I have THICK locs & I bought thick crochet butterfly locs. I didn't want to braid my locs because it doesn't show any parts and I would need too much hair and it just looks poofy & messy. I literally gave up and started posting the crochet locs, trying to resell it until I saw this video. Such a lifesaver!❤ how amazing of her to share such gold with us. This style is so good on my edges and my locs itself, especially since I retwisted my locs a few days ago.

I’ve come across several crochet loc tutorials and this one is by far the most helpful. This is the only one I’ve seen that you don’t have to pull the entire bulky loc through the base of the braid, which is very helpful. Going to try doing this on myself next week. this is so useful! i love the information shared several times, upclose, and in great detail. i have tension alopecia and pulling the entire big loop through my hair actually hurts extremely.
