Mojang should just turn every mob into a two-pixel sprite so people will leave the firefly alone

Mojang: we have decided to scrap the fly, cricket, and grasshopper because we have found that the Minecraft player base is allergic to mobs that are only two pixels.

They should add the fireflies back not as frogfood but an ambience mob...it just gives life to the swamp or in a random forest biome.

Part of me feels that this is the developers getting back at us for mocking them for making the bees too big.

The (potential) problem with the extension is that when you click on the link, it'll still boost the Fandom wiki's search engine score before redirecting to the new wiki (unless the developer thought of this already).

They could actually add flies grashoppers and crickets, have them literally be two pixels and nobody would complain if they spawned in the right conditions and did some sound Although people would complain about the flies, since they are flies.

Im still mad they cut the fireflies from the game. They would go a long way towards adding some visual charm and flair to viomes. I am almost certain that they are just using the frog food as an excuse for not being able to technically build it in the game.

my question is not why people are still mad over the firefly not being added, but why mojang has decided to keep it from being added when the solution is simply to not have frogs eat them.

1:03 Note that on Firefox, developer mode extensions unload themselves after you close the browser and you have to reload them again. There's no way to force a developer extension to stay enabled in Firefox, so you'll have to do this every time until Poopy Lulu gets this submitted to all the major extension stores (which is a pain) EDIT: I'm dumb, Chrome isn't as picky as Firefox.

As a few people have probably said. The google ranking is based on clicks. So when you click the link to fandom, it keeps fandom up in the rankings no matter what.

I’d really like to see bugs as one of the 3 mob vote options, having 3 types depending on the biome, like frogs.

I am embarrassed to say that I seriously thought it was a real fly on my monitor and kept waving my hand near it to make it fly off of it.

Since blue/turquoise mobs win every mob vote and Mojang has a new golem every mob vote, they just need to make one of the new mobs a Prismarine Golem and it will be a no-contest vote.

They should make so that if any mob, even the Wither and Steve touches a fly they get a deadly venom level 76, that bypasses the half a heart limit and ignores any immunities.

It could absolutely be those three things -2 pixel bee fly (you know Cutiefly from Pokémon? Imagine that, make it the size of a fingernail, and… yea actually that’s basically it, they really didn’t change much, just look up bee flies they are very cute) -2 pixel pygmy grasshopper (they’re grasshoppers… but smaller) -2 pixel pygmy mole cricket (they’re crickets… but smaller and not very well known by those not involved with entomology) Other 2-pixel cute invertebrate options(ignoring the focus on endangered animals) -2 pixel panda ant (they are actually tiny black and white fuzzy wasps, but so rare and harmless to people that the effects of their sting were only recorded earlier this year on the Brave Wilderness channel, and only after a lot of coaxing) -2 pixel rosy maple moth (1 yellow pixel 1 pink pixel) -2 pixel blue orchard bee (tiny solitary bees that are metallic blue, docile, and among the many bees that are actually in need of saving, unlike honeybees which are doing just fine by comparison) -2 pixel green and red cockroach(aka Melyroidea magnifica, they don’t have a common name; they’ve got metallic red heads and green bodies and they’re also the only currently identified eusocial cockroaches, meaning they live in colonies like ants) -2 pixel weevil (alternatively 1 and a half pixels to reflect that they are little snoot fellas… the most unbeweevable option) -2 pixel purple-gold jumping spider (they’re tiny, the males are round and come in metallic gold and purple while the females look like tiny hamburgers in awe of the beauty of the world) -2 pixel any other jumping spider really, they’re adorable and harmless and have the faces of those small stuffed animals you’d find at gas stations with the big shiny eyes

Btw, any particular reason why you didn't want to promote indie wiki buddy? It is an extension that also can redirect you to the new wiki *and* it hides search results so you can find and select the new wiki instead of the old one. It also does this for pretty much all the other wikis that have forked from fandom so it does a whole lot!

best to keep in mind that the new wiki is still missing some information, tried to check something today and the sculk page was half empty

The problem with the extension approach is that Google still registers that as a visit to the Fandom page, allowing it to hold the top result.

The grass-hopper joke is so simple, yet so funny and hilariously brilliant, the bugs can easily be fixed, just make a pixel like "Fairy" like Navi of The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina of time, like an exp orb with wings and different colours, or even better, take the bee model and re-textured it, giving it the size of a baby turtle.

I get the feeling that, if Mojang could, they would remove all hostile mobs, weapons and hazards from the game in order to push Minecraft to younger audiences. I miss the times were the game wasn't so geared towards peaceful gameplay, monetization and strict moderation, but I'm glad mods and older versions still exist

The Fandom wiki will always appear at the top. Fandom pays Google to make their site appear before any other sites.

I’m one of those people who don’t actually care about what mobs are added into the game, but instead what blocks are added (I build stuff) Both the glow squid and the sniffer being added to the game was actually quite nice since now I can make text on signs more visible, and I have more plants to play around with

Wonder if the new mob they’ll add will have those new animations, while leaving all the old ones like the way they are now thus creating even bigger difference in whole mob perception…

Looks like I’m going to need to change my sleep schedule to watch Minecraft live!!

DON'T use extensions to redirect from fandom. It does nothing to help with search engine rankings for the new wiki. Good intentions but bad approach. Post the new URL everywhere relevant so that it starts getting picked up as a new link reference by search engine indexers.

now about that first part of the minecraft wiki, i have a direct link to a roblox game wiki the thing is if that will take me to the minecraft wiki too because the roblox game wiki is on fandom and it doesn't have enough power to move to it's own site

I'm quite certain the main reason they will do a mob vote of 3 animals that would be considered "useless" besides the looks it's to make votations less toxic but that just falls appart complety if it's still gonna be a permanent discard vote and not a prioritazion vote like they did with biomes

honestly need a version of that wiki extension for the Deep Rock Galactic wiki, as they moved away from Fandom sometime back, and i keep accidentally clicking the old links.

The problem with the extension is that Google tracks the clicks on the search page. So if you click on a .fandom page you will get redirected to the new wiki, but google still tracks it as if you would have clicked on the fandom page! The extension just checks the current url *on page load* and redirects you.

I do kind of hope that the new mob will add some to the ambient. I have a bunch of mods installed for more and better ambient sounds, but I'd love it if they were to add something to the game that improves vanilla ambience.

I am so glad I only paid £3 back in the earliest alpha of this game. Just feels like they are adding stuff that do nothing. Hell, I'd like to see some updates to the ocean, crabs, Seahorses and maybe a couple of hostile ocean mobs like an eel and jellyfish.
