DC's Stargirl, or simply Stargirl, is an American superhero television series created by Geoff Johns that premiered on streaming service DC Universe and now airs on The CW. It is based on the DC Comics superhero Courtney Whitmore created by Johns and Lee Moder. The series follows high school student Courtney Whitmore, portrayed by Brec Bassinger, who discovers the cosmic staff and becomes the inspiration for a new generation of superheroes who become the Justice Society of America. The series also stars Yvette Monreal as Yolanda Montez / Wildcat II, Anjelika Washington as Beth Chapel / Doctor Mid-Nite II, Cameron Gellman as Rick Tyler / Hourman II, and Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman! #Stargirl #DCStargirl

I feel jakeem is gonna be welcomed into open arms by pat and the jsa, making mike feel more alone, they really trying to turn mike into a villain because Cindy had a picture of mike when showing the kids of the isa members, it’s getting really interesting 🧐

I loved the flashback and can't wait for more. Love the Shade. Yes, I do believe the reason he wants the kids out of it is to prevent Eclipso from killing them. Interesting point I missed. Mike says to his boss to get Jakeem to do it, he'd be better. That is where the pen goes. So it shows he thinks Jakeem is better.

The Eclipso diamond is also referred to as the "heart of darkness," so it makes sense that he'd want it. Shade may also be interested in Jennie's brother, Todd. Also, the Thunderbolt has been revealed to be a 5th dimensional imp.

The Shade is a fantastic character in the Starman comics- not a bad guy, but a sorta amoral immortal englishman from the Victorian era.

To be fair to Mike, if Pat hadn't "benched" him, he would have been with them and wouldn't have felt like he needed to do anything. Also, Pat doesn't seem to realize that he's treating Mike the same way the previous JSA treated him.

This episode was good, Thunderbolt looked awesome and we finally get to see The Shade uses his powers up close again.

Call me crazy, but I'm starting to think that the Shade is not actually the villain here. He's not a hero, but I suspect he just wants to make sure Eclipso is kept away an unable to harm anyone. I know in the comics he's a morally ambiguous character and not a straight-up villain.

Yeah, they seem to be borrowing from Robinson's Starman run (Robinsons is also a writer for the show), where Shade was still incredibly selfish but didn't actually want anyone to get hurt

Shade is pretty intriguing especially that last line with him showing concern for the kids. And man, he's pretty powerful restraining them all without even leaving his seat. Yeah I dunno what happend with the special effects with the eye line towards the Thunderbolt. That was odd. but overall I enjoyed the episode.

Maybe because this episode was more Mike-centric but this is the first time I really noticed that the actor playing Mike does resemble Luke Wilson a fair bit. I don't know why it took that long for me to notice. It's probably one of the reasons he was cast. Also his voice makes him sound a lot older than he is.

Part of me does wonder if the Shade is trying to save the kid s from Eclipso. And Poor Mike! He got to be a Hero for a little while.

Why on earth would you wait until night to confront the guy with shadow control powers? Realistically speaking, I get FX limitations and filming the costumes in broad daylight, but story-wise, that's a really really dumb idea.

Looks like his reasoning went right over your head. He was making the point until it’s official those are just papers and anything can happen. They could change their minds, not sign or not turn them into the court. And he’s the himbo?

@@mcstacia and it seems logic went over yours, in order to get officially divorced you need to FILE THE PAPERWORK. Him saying “it’s just papers” as a way to console her makes no sense because her parents are considered to be in the process of a divorce🤷🏾‍♀️

@@NyikoDoris and they are just papers and nothing is official until both sign off and send it back to the courts and then the court system has to sign off on them. It happens all the time couples change their minds and stay together. Rick was basically saying there is a chance they don’t go through with it and stay together in the end. Those papers mean trouble in the marriage but don’t guarantee they divorce. So Rick is correct. until it’s resolved legally those papers are just papers sitting in their house.

This episode finally puts it back on track with season 1. The first 2 episodes were good but not great. For a show that just switched networks and needed to pick up new viewers, I feel like episode 1 was a huge miss. My friend thought season 1 was the best thing ever and she hated the first episode and was worried the CW did their "CW thing" to it. Nah, just took until now to get things rolling.

That's weird. I liked this episode ok but I thought the first two of this season were far better. I really enjoyed those. This one was fine but mostly because of the Shade. I didn't really care for the Thunderbolt stuff which just seemed too cartoon-like (wouldn't seem out of place at all in something like Legends, but Stargirl just has a more grounded feel to me) and the weird eyeline mistakes were a bit distracting.
