They mourned Olivia for 3 seasons and mourned spooky for like 5 minutes smh

They treated Spooky’s character terribly. We don’t even know who killed him and then they turned his spirit into gnome?? The disrespect. And why did they have to that to Abuelita as well?? She and Jamal were the comedic duo that carried so many scenes 😭

I hate how they hyped the appearance of little Ricky since season 1 just for him to appear and make it feel like he’s just an average guy

I hated how they ended Jasmine’s Story so much! It doesn’t even make sense because it negates the whole self care epiphany she had by making her give up her dream school to take care of her dad! This season was the worst IMO it was rushed and contradicted a lot of events in previous seasons and the deaths weren’t necessary!

Why they kill ABUELITA?!?!? She was literally the best character, she made you laugh and is a Latina grandmother from head to toe. She is literally my grandmother but younger, the only thing missing for her to be identical was to pray to San Martín de Porres

The way they were building lil Ricky up just for the gang to meet him in the way they did was so frustrating. Like Jamal has been obsessed with the guy for 4 seasons and that's the reaction we get...HUHHH

They should’ve really ended with A book cover called all my block and it’s written by monse (because she good at writing). Then you see older Monse reading the book to an audience and then you see the other characters in the crowd and you see their future selves. I’m telling you we were robbed at the end

césar not going after who killed spooky is the whole point. when cesar asks him who did it, he shakes is head, because until the last moment, he's trying to protect his brother and helping him break this cycle, otherwise it would never end.

The fact Monse did not care at all that Cesar had a gf and didn’t even look embarrassed when Vero walked in on them the next morning was so annoying to me. She’s preaching women empowerment when she disrespected Veronicas relationship that she already knew about, thus disrespecting Veronica. Monse didn’t have to sleep with Cesar and I wish they had showed Monse and Vero picking themselves and calling Cesar out together for playing them both.

i hated the way cesar "broke up" with his gf, then started a thing with monse THen agreed to go to the dance after telling monse hes not going to go, THEn agreed to go with "his ex" THEN didn't even tell monse. i hated his character this season.

I actually don’t mind that Cesar turned out the way he did looking back on the other seasons he was bound to turn out that way considering gang life was always chasing him and he felt like he had no other way to turn. It did feel forced at times but it makes sense. Spooky had the best character development definitely did not deserve to die but this happens to real people even when they make it out. Spooky will be missed the highlight of this season. Hopefully the spin off turns out ok.

When Cesar called Monse a mess when he was fully ready to have her as a side piece.. I wanted to fight him!!!!

Season 4 was horrible! Literally just random deaths and plot holes to get a conversation started around the last season. Monsey acted confused the entire season about Caesars relationship. Jamal seems like they had him doing random things that doesn't really move the plot. Rubys relationship was stretched out way too long also.

Can we talk about how the police found Cuchillos body, the gang went to the police station once and never again 😦

I don’t get why Cesar and Monse didn’t get together in the end. What happened to them was very anticlimactic and messy. But it sucked because the show teased them for 4 seasons and there was no payoff at all.

To Caesar's forced voice to killing Spooky to the rushed and dropped plot points, this season dropped the ball. Enjoyed the season and love the cast and characters but could've been better

I get it, he is so cool now and dangerous, but jeez give it a break. it sounds awful!

Binged the entire series in one weekend. I agree that the final season felt rushed even with the same number of episodes as previously. A problem with season 4 was they attempted to present 2, 3 years of story in one season. From my understanding, the show starts the summer before they enter high school (season 1) and by the end of season 3 (excluding the time jump) it's only the following summer. It was a big task to turn around and cover so much time in one season; also all the episodes are around 25min. Maybe if the episodes were 60min, they could've fully explored the characters' changes post-drift, and not just have discussions about it. I actually liked Ruby & Jasmin's relationship. C'mon, compared to Caesar & Monse? Plus we got to see normal relationship problems, that they care about each other and have the best chance at a healthier reconciliation in the future. Oscar deserved better! I suspect he started considering leaving the gang-life while he was in prison. Cesar's actions had a part in Oscar's death. Whether it was the Prophets or not, if he wasn't a target, he was likely bait to find Oscar. Jasmin's family did her dirty! How are you going to say to your niece she's the first to go to college just to be like "Yeah well, I feel like putting a stop to that." I think Jasmin's mother passed away; from what I can tell it's just herself, dad, aunt, cousin (aunt's son), and his wife. If her story's ever revisited, I hope Ruby or Jamal's parents take in Jasmin's dad so she can go to Berkley. Or maybe Mario can live in her house so her dad doesn't get stressed from the change. I like Jamal and Jasmin's friendship and definitely want to see more of it. Maybe the spinoff discusses the Roller World money the new gang trying to take over Free Ridge?

I needed a more emotional reaction from the characters when it came to Spooky and abuelita's death. I wanted to see pain and mourning. It feels like they didn't make a big enough deal out of these deaths.

This season felt a bit rushed and I wish they included some more things as it was the last season. - I wish they played changes by dej loaf as that song kind of encapsulated season 1 and was played when ruby and Olivia were shot. In season 2 when ruby hears that song at a dance it triggers him. If they played it in season 4 during prom maybe, then maybe we could’ve had a nice moment of ruby making peace with everything happening and some growth? Idk - I think a reference to season 1 when Mario sat them down on the couch and told them to stay friends before they started high school would have been nice. They didn’t talk for 2 years but eventually found their way back to one another proving Mario’s point that they’re stronger together than apart - they should’ve not killed spooky. Like why? - ok I feel like at some point they could’ve mentioned Olivia. Hear me out ok she was a major part of season 1 and her getting shot was the beginning of the gang dealing with loss and death. Especially for ruby. A part of me was hoping that when he met with Latrell he would mention that he still talks to her parents or thinks about her or something. It’s like damn they really pretend that girl never existed lol - I wanted a graduation scene from them. Prom was fun but I think seeing them in their caps and gowns would have also worked - some explanation of what happened to the roller world money. Like wtf it’s just gone? That was a huge plot line and no payoff . Maybe they’re saving it for the spin off idk - I wish there didn’t write jasmines aunt moving as a way for jasmine to not go to Berkeley. Like wtf she got in full ride and was so excited and I felt bad for my girl - less of the mess that is monse and Cesar. Either they’re together or they’re not Overall season 1 is my favourite season. The tone of the show, soundtrack, introduction to the characters and vibe really made me fall in love with the show. Its the only time we know them pre trauma before all the shit that happens in season 2-4. I’ll never forget where I was in my life when I watched it and I shed a little tear when I finished the final episode of the show. Despite all its flaws love this show❤️ ok rant over lol

So i have theory about the end of season 3 and part of the last season so basically when abuelita (sorry if I spelled that wrong) was fixing up spooky after the whole fight in season 3 and was saying thank you to spooky and he said for what fast forward to season 4 to when Jamal ruby and Cesar were arguing about where the money from the heist went and Cesar Didn't know and how that basically split the three of them so I assume the money went to abuelita for her cancer treatment. Sorry if it is confusing

something that was also never concluded or properly addressed in the end is WHERE TF IS THE ROLLERWORLD MONEY?!?!?!?

This season was TERRIBLE. Here is my list of a few of the things I could not stand: 1. I never really liked Monse, but they absolutely killed her vibe in the new season. Her thing was always starting little drama to the group that added flavor. And then they made her all preppy and wise and sh*t. Like I get she changed since it had been two years after all, but her character had no flavor in season 4. 2. Vero deserved WAY better. She was brought up like she was gonna add lots to the plot, but never did. Her character had so much to bring to the story, but we never really got to know her. And not to mention Monse and Cesar's relationship were just all over the place and was SO confusing. Like, they smashed when Cesar was with Vero and she just got back with him. And Monse and him still kissed again so like are Vero and him in a full relationship or not?! 3. There was no actual plot this season, just a lot of extra bs. Like how disappointing when the car following Jamal was just some rich guy who wanted to offer him a job. And Cesar's gang life was so boring! UGH! 4. Spooky and Abuelita deserved WAY better. They were the glue for this show and should not have been killed off. 5. I hate how everyone just told Jasmine to accept the fact that she was gonna have to take care of her dad. Like, she definitely should have gone to college. And the audacity that they had to show this whole self-care journey but they just made her decide not to go to college in like 2 episodes?! 6. And lastly, the thing that urks me the most. Cesar's effing tough guy attitude and voice. His voice was so deep and forced, it was so bad. His character got so bad this season. 7. There were so many opportunities for good plot but no no no. This season SUCKED. They could have done more with the money being taken from Cesar, Spooky's wife, and so much more. But they decided to focus on little stuff like Jamal's prom dates and Monse and Cesar's relationship (which has gotten so old). These are just some of my dislikes btw. I have a lot more lmao. Overall rating: 3.5/10 (and that's being generous)

💯 percent agree about Jasmine she shouldn’t of had to give up her dream,it felt very forced and it was never resolved. I just wish they didn’t leave so many things in the air it’s the final season. I get the “life goes on” kind of thing they were going for but they didn’t give enough for us to say ya you can leave it there. I get why Spooky died but Abuelita shouldn’t have gone the way she did. At least give us the whole season to saw our goodbye.

i'm happy that they're making a spin off where they're gender bending it, and the guy cameron, who's the lead the way monse was, like we see through him first, is described as "a BIPOC who hasn’t dated any girls because he’s petrified of them. He does, however, date many boys. He’s been raised by his co-dependent divorced parents who still talk." which like yes give me that! it was cute to see them over the fence a nice parallel

It’s not completely Caesar’s fault Spooky got killed. You have to remember he was in that life a very long time. He was trying to push Caesar in that life for like half of the show. It’s just the minute he wanted to change and become better, the life caught up to him. This happens to a lot of people in real life. However Caesar was beyond annoying, and I feel he not getting enough heat for cheating on Vera.

On my block season 4 felt like a cash grab i feel like Netflix and the creators didn't know what to do with this show except for disappointing us.

I really unexpectedly liked Jasmine this season! I just hated the ending they gave her. Honestly out of everyone who deserved a dream ending, she did. I definitely would have preferred to see Jasmine flourish at the school of her dreams.

I didn’t cry finishing omb. And I don’t even remember the last time I didn’t not cry when I finished a show no matter how bad the last season was. I’m sad and disappointed of the finale that they gave us.

SPOILER ALERT 🚨 My Thoughts on Season 4 of On my Block 1 . When Abuelita died from cancer I thought that Ruby was going to break down and cry and then in the next scene everyone is smoking weed and having a good time when his father told him to let it out I was thinking he was going to boo-hoo cry him and Jamal .. Also where were Ruby’s brother” Mario “ and the twins … Ruby cried his eyes out when Olivia died but he doesn’t shed a tear when his grandma passed away 2 .So the police found Cuchillo’s bones and they questioned Monse , Ruby , Jamal , and Cesar and all they had to say was they were looking for big foot and that’s it .. and if Cuchillos had men you would think they would try to find out what happened to her 3. So We don’t know who kill spooky and why we don’t know if it was the Santos , The Prophets or the 19th gang .. Also Officer Hammel doesn’t check on Cesar when Spooky dies , he doesn’t try to find out what happened at all .. Which doesn’t make sense considering how involved he was in Spooky and Cesar life in the earlier seasons 4 . Something else that didn’t make sense was Jamal having sexual feelings for Monse all of a sudden 5 . Jasmine was super Annoying this season … She wasn’t letting Ruby talk for himself .. I don’t see why Jasmine and Jamal had to hide their friendship from Ruby … When that’s what Ruby wanted to happened in the first place … Which is why Jamal And Ruby didn’t talk for two years because Jamal got tired of being a third wheel and Ruby was complaining about Jamal not giving Jasmine a chance .. So it made no sense for them to hide their friendship 6. So the Core 4 met Lil Ricky after 3 seasons and it did nothing for the storyline at all whatsoever it was like they met Lil Ricky and it was like oh OK whatever 7 . So we only hear Kendra mentioned one time this Season and then at the end of the season she shows up and gives Jamal a weird business deal out of nowhere So who is Cesar going to be with Monse or Vero ? because at the end of season four it was never determined because Monse and Cesar seem liked they were just back to being friends So when the Core 4 tell their parents everything that was happening over the years with roller world and the parents were really nonchalant about it they was like oh well it happened they wasn’t too mad about it they wasn’t fearing for their kids safety. When Spooky died the Core 4 didn’t seem upset about or shed a tear at all .. I liked how Jamal’ s character was in the first two episodes of season 4 .. it was better seeing him not being so goofy all the time but they went right back to his character being goofy and silly as him and Ruby made up So when spooky died and the Santos wasn’t messing with Cesar no more who was paying rent because he doesn’t have a job , he wasn’t in the gang anymore how was he getting money.. so i find it odd that Spooky didn’t leave Cesar anymore So Monse father( Monte ) has a new baby and we never get to see the baby lol What did Abuelita tell the police to get them to leave the core 4 alone Ruby going to Visit Latrell in Juvie was a emotional scene but I don’t feel sorry for Latrell because of what he did to Ruby And Olivia without any remorse

I hated what they did to Jamal's character. They made him into the gross, narcissistic asshole and I was not ready to see that 😭. But I think by the end of the show even he wasn't happy with who he was becoming so I'm glad he realized that.

I’m just really going to miss how diverse this show was. So many people of color shining especially in the earlier seasons. I hope they are all successful though and we get to see them in many other projects! :)

tbh the whole last season felt so rushed, spooky and abuelita’s death felt unnecessary and the fact that entire series ended on a literal cliffhanger just made me so angry. we didnt even find out who the group of kids were, we didnt find out what happened to monse’s mom, who killed spooky and what abuelita’s map meant. i wish they at least explained some more things instead of just putting the entire show to an abrupt end

I'm rewatching the show, so I was looking for content on it, and I agree regarding Jamal: he was a reminder that even though they had some very adult drama on the show, in the end they are kids. Then he became weirdly testosterony

I have to watch you video I did enjoy the last season but what I really felt cheated in were the moments when such great characters like Oscar and Marisol died. I felt there was no breath there was one scene to the next at least when the first season when one of the characters died there was a whole season dedicated to what that grief can do and PTSD. Oscar dying was traumatic. I truly thought the main plots were well done I just felt like it was very much a lot of misunderstandings that lead to tragedy. Seriously this is one of my favorites series ever and I'm glad the final season was at least good

I think it was intentional to leave Spooky's killer at large, maybe to symbolize that Caesar will turn a new leaf by not avenging his brother's death? Mostly I agree with your review though! I'll miss the show and will probably re-watch it one day; can never get enough HAMAL and Aw-bwa-leeta!
