I honestly believe anyone in an area not accustomed to experiencing such extreme weather would have taken the exact same steps. Your focus was to insure everything that could be done to protect your animals was addressed. Not all heroes wear capes. In this situation it's obvious to me one wear a ball-cap and the other wears pearls.

I learned a lot just watching yall go through this. Yalls experience has made me redesign our remodel of a 100 year old farm house. Buried water lines below frost level, propane gas, more insulation, and heat in the barn and chicken coop. A WHOLE house generator is 10 weeks out but its ordered.

Thank you Lester and Jami for all you did to protect all the babies. I am so glad you let Big Tex out in the bigs pasture where he could be with his little family. When I seen the video where Tex and Santiana has ice hanging on them it broke my heart. Poor little Donkey Dan. How horrible was what he had to endure to survive thorough before he was lucky enough to get with ya'll. You could see how much he trusted you Jami when you were blow drying him. I loved the last scene when Tex was sneaking into the big barn.

@@zelda401 I don't know they said he and the other one would've torn them up. I would've put one on him anyway and separated him if I had to. That made me really sad to see him like that, just on video, I can only image how Lester and Jamie felt seeing him. I'm an animal lover big time so anytime I see an animal so much as sad it makes me real sad, much less hurt in any way. I don't like to see it. And when people abuse animals I swear if horns could grow outta my head they would!

I live far north in Illinois. 40 minutes south of the Wisconsin border. You guys did great. Up here we get that kind of weather all winter but we are used to it. We don't lose our electricity and water. I have no idea how you got through all of that without crying meltdowns. I cannot imagine the stress and worry you had. My only stress is am I going to be able to shovel my driveway on my own or do I need to find someone to do it. I don't need to worry about my 2 cats because they are indoor only. No special planning going on unless it's a blizzard. I go to the grocery store and load up on cat stuff and chocolate. No worries. I have so much respect for the Morrow family. You have to worry about hurricanes during their season and now you are probably going to always be mindful that winter could get nasty again. Congratulations on a job well down. Plus you kept all of us busy watching you. Jamie, the chickens in the tent were priceless. Horses and donkeys preening in their coats was awesome. Protective Tex, heartwarming. Poor Donkey Dan, my heart is so sad for what he has been through but happy for the home you have given him. I truly loved watching all of you play in the snow. What fun. So glad all is well. Bless all of you for what you bring to us!! You are like my video book and I can't wait to see the next chapter. Hugs.

I'm so glad you had your new structures in place. Everything was just in time, structures, hay, blankets, electrician support and of course all of your hard work to love and protect your babies. Oh my gosh, absolutely!!! It makes me nuts when non animal people say that to ascribe emotions to animals is "anthropomorphizing" them--- trying to turn them into humans... What a load!!! Have they never *seen* the adoration in a dog's eyes?! Just---- ugh!!!

I was born and raised in Washington state. If they said humidity in the weather report, it meant rain. I spent 4 years in the US Army and was stationed in Pensacola for my schooling and then spent the bulk of my time at Ft. Hood, TX. The first time it was humid in Florida I thought they meant it was going to rain when they mentioned the humidity. Little did I know I would never be dry again. I live in NY now and when it gets humid here, I laugh when I hear people talk about the high humidity. I tell them go down south and then tell me this is bad humidity in NY. Just like when it snowed in Texas when I was there and people didn't know how to drive. All I could do is laugh. Thank you for all your wonderful stories. I love watching these animals. You were really prepared for the storm.

You made the right choice on summer stalls for your area based on your needs Also you were able to cover it as needed but you would have had trouble in summer taking away walls! And people would be hating on you come summer if you had full stalls with your heat and humidity! You are the animal sanctuary, don't worry so much about peoples comments we don't see them taking this on, they are only giving commentary in their home behind screens... not out there fighting the weather and needs of those babies!!!! My young horse got out of pasture a few days ago. He got out again this morning. As I said horses are smart we have a section of fence that is just wire with no electric in it. Been liked that for a few years. As I said on last vlog that horses seem to find things that get them in trouble. Horses attract to things that can get them in some sort of trouble. Luckily he did not hurt.

You guys did a fantastic job providing for the babies during the cold snap. Here in Michigan we are used to it, but we also had the exceptionally low temps during that time. Seeing Jami come in the door with all the feather babies in her arms made me laugh. Horse blankets are mostly for show horses so they don't fur-out for winter. It is good for a horse, donkey or cattle to fur-out for winter. This was a very unusual time for TX. Lol, humidity IS the worst. I'm from Albuquerque, NM and when we do have humidity (rare cuz we're always in a drought) it kills me. Funny story: We went on a family vacation to Florida on the Gulf side when I was a kid. I packed lotion, jeans ... Oh forget it! We lived in bathing suits because of the humidity you couldn't even put jeans on! And I didn't need lotion! None of the locals wore regular clothes to go to the grocery store either .... Everyone was in their swim suits! It was the 1st time experiencing refrigerated air too as we used swamp coolers primarily. When we switched flights in Dallas, I literally couldn't breathe, the air was so heavy. Thank God y'all made it through ok, so many people didn't. Love you guys 🙏
