Truth I wish she stuck to this strategy in WAW and just let Denise go home but since her strategy has been heavily criticized by fans claiming she did nothing, I think it got to her and she got a case of big move-itus and didn’t want to let her idol go to waste w/o doing something with it and wanted an excuse to use it.

Regardless of how you feel about Sandra last two game plays it's still better than losing in the final tribal twice in a row and then being the first person voted out in their tribe twice in your last two playings (cough Russell cough).

@@MsVitaD Unless Sandra plays her idol for herself on that tribal, she most likely goes home (Since they don't split the vote). The only saving grace for her, is that the idol expiries after that tribal anyway, so there's no point in saving it up. I wish she didn't get swap screwed on Game Changers, she was banging hard on that season.

PI is a top 10 victory IMO. She did exactly what Natalie Anderson did on SJDS, but people don't admit it because they are still bitter about Parvati and Russell losing... Sandra is that type of player that could win 5 times, and people would still deny how great of a player she is

@@dagu1801 ​Even if Sandra's idol didn't expire (in which case, she never would have given it to Denise), I think she 100% plays it as soon as Denise plays her own idol. At that point, Sandra just has to make sure she isn't the one going home.

It’s a simple social strategy that works brilliantly. She is always able to elevate herself in people’s eyes by locating the villain in the crowd and opposing them. It was especially impressive in HvV since she had seen all the others - but she had never seen Russell play. She knew the kind of man he was and she knew this was her rival.

@@hkazu63 What is funny is how many times she played Russell and he was just too dumb to know he was being played 🤣. Sandra says Coach wants Russell out so that gives her a couple more days and enough time to extend her stay for the merge. Then she obviously backstabs Russell 2 times after the merge and yet he was too dumb to realize Sandra was a threat. Sandra even at one point openly says "I am against you Russell" 🤣🤣🤣. It is funny coming from a guy who thinks he has the best game out there how dumb he is and Sandra just love to play with his foolish mind. Queen stays Queen.

@@kaseymanhart1822 I've liked her since Pearl Islands. Another fun fact about Sandra is that up until Winners at War, she would always say yes to anything Survivor related, as far as going and playing again.

Tony may now be King of Survivor, but Sandra will ALWAYS be The Queen.

Right?? Just bc her game play is more fluid and is about having literally anybody else but her go home, doesn’t stop it from being good gameplay. Like, the point of the game is to survive and make it to the end, and she did just that. 😂 I also think a lot of people have a stereotypical ideology on what it means to be a champion/winner and Sandra doesn’t fall neatly in that box so people just have a hard time seeing/accepting her as the winner.

Wait people actually make that argument that Lil should have won? I’ve never heard anyone say that. I understand people saying Heroes Vs. Villains as an argument could be made for Parvati, but I can’t think of any scenario where Lil winning Pearl Islands would be more satisfying than Sandra winning.

@@mirillis6083 Totally! Tijuana had a winning game with that alliance since she could beat Darrah, Lil and Fairplay. Sandra is one of my favorites though and she deserved both her wins.

If you haven't seen Pearl Islands in its entirety, I highly recommend it. I have it No. 1 on my list of all-newbie seasons.

Nothing on this season of the show portrays this as a smart move.

She also invented the “anyone but me,” and most ppl can’t pull it off either. It very much belongs to her as a strategy

100%. PI Is a Top10 victory. HvV I feel that Parvati played better (although Sandra wasn't bad). I'm GC she played surprisingly good tho

HvV she was too often on the bottom to make moves which is why this is the case imo. She still played a great social game by trying to help the heroes at every turn when Russell and Parvati voted them out back to back, but her strategic game never blossomed due to poor plays from the heroes.

@@loynco9299 I actually disagree. Parvati social game was not good in HvV. Sandra started her jury management the moment the merge happened. Parvati never tried to work with the heroes. Jerri played a better social game than Parvati. I think she had a better chance of winning over Parvati. Sandra is an excellent social player. People keep on forgetting that Survivor is a social game. Sandra won twice without winning a single immunity challenge. Both Johnny FairPlay and Parvati recognized her social gameplay. It’s funny because I recognize Sandra gameplay from the get go. It’s a social game a lot of minorities play in our daily lives. Sandra’s game play is very underrated and she understands the game to the core. She deserves her title as a two time winner.

I agree. Jon was far and away the true villain of the season, and Sandra was loudly and proudly his biggest adversary. She’s the Batman to his Joker.

I think maybe she was labeled as a villain because of her insensitivity when taking Morgan’s tarp, she had no sympathy for the grandma thing, she was a brash woman, she was willing to turn on anyone, and she had a take no prisoners attitude.

Overrated In my humble opinion. She didnt even do anything in Heroes vs Villains besides get coach out. The real queen is Parvati.

Agreed, I think Parvati is better . Sandra didn’t do much, you can say that was her strategy, but Parvati got to the end playing a HUGE game aswell. And her (Sandra’s) quit definitely soured her reputation.

I think she's a little overrated, her pearl island win wasn't that impressive even at the time people didn't think of her as that good of a winner, especially after her last two outings I think she's a great player but not on the level of Rob Tony Parv Cirie etc

I think lil was going to the end no matter what she was so despised she would've been an easy beat for anyone

Did Fairplay really lose the game because of that though. In a Final 4 of Darrah, Lil, Burton, Fairplay, Fairplay's only winning F2 is Lil. And he was going to take Burton if he had his way, and Burton was going to take him, and he loses to Burton. Lil was going to take Burton over Fairplay if she still won F3 immunity. I don't even see what Fairplay's possible win scenario is.

Well, it's easy to see that Fairplay was selected because he makes for great TV, and honestly, seasons around this time (mostly Amazon and Pearl Island) finally broke the stereotype that players had where playing strategically makes you a bad person.. To me, Fairplay was a great Survivor player, got stuck at the end though and had no way to win, but he did his best. That doesn't mean I like him as a person, he seems quite difficult to bear, but he played a great game

The fact that you still hate him just goes to show how perfect his casting was! Lol
