I haven't made bread in a long time. Growing up it was the Saturday chore. Making bread for the week. My mom taught me, she made bread that would win blue ribbons at the fair. I loved the smell and taste of fresh baked bread. These days I can't have anything made with wheat or that has gluten. But I still love seeing a well made loaf. 💖💖💖

Andrea I have just bought one of those loaf tins & going to try this recipe as I still make/have my original sourdough starter that you taught me many,many,many years ago in one of your earlier videos.Cheers Denise- Australia

Andrea, love homemade bread. I'm looking forward to trying your recipe. I've been trying to find one the boys like for sandwiches. Something that doesn't have lot's of crumbs. I'm looking for a bread recipe that doesn't sit heavy on the stomach. They're certain breads that are heavy, and just crumble. Love your pan and knife! Thank you for sharing your recipe, pan, and knife.

I have a cheap stove, no light so I'm using a seed starter mat for my sourdough. I'm sure it would work for bread dough as well

First rise, I put a tablespoon or so of olive oil in the bowl and roll it around so the whole dough gets covered to keep it from skinning over.

Hey Andrea, When I am getting dough to rise I put it in the oven. On the bottom shelf I place a pan of boiling water or water that was boiling a moment before. I leave it in while it bakes to add humidity to the oven. Most summer days I do not need to do that but all winter long I do. I am trying another bread and now will try this one. Looking for a soft bread that is able to be cut and eaten without putting crumbs everywhere. Kinda like Ben had had mentioned.

I started getting all my ingredients together without watching the full video. 😂 I got to the point where you said a cup of room temperature water and milk. My brain immediately thought 1C each. I had them mixed together and then pressed start again only to hear you say 1 C water and 1/2 C milk. 😮oh no what to do? So I added about 1/4 tsp more yeast and another 3/4 C flour. It mixed together really well and it’s in the oven set on Proof with the timer set. I don’t have the same bread pan with a lid, but I do have a double long pan. We shall see what happens. 🎉 I bought one of the Bow Knives at a Sammy Show (craft show in Austin Tx! Probably 25 years ago. I still have it, it’s sharp and I use it.

I have sourdough baking right now! I am concerned that it isn’t going to turn out. I have two of those pullman pans so I think I’ll give your recipe a try tomorrow if the sourdough doesn’t turn out. If it does, I’ll make your recipe later in the week. The only bread product I have been buying over the last 3 months is english muffins. I am out of those now and I’ve got a recipe or two I want to try for them. Thank you for sharing.

Great video I make my own bread with milling my own flour an I use the USA pans the Lady I learned from SueBecker from the Bread Beckers said never oil those pans it ruins them .. I never use anything they are none stick my bread falls out of them

When I was baking bread I put a piece of colored tape on the oven control-my family knew if the tape was there to not turn it on.

Hey Andrea, So good to see y'all today. I have tried one other new recipe for a softer less crumby bread. So I am willing to give this a try. Now this pan will it give me a square slice of bread like in a sandwich loaf bread you buy at the store. So I do not think those are going to be right for me. I will use the recipe one time fair chance.Y'all take care bye for now

I've always heard the salt should never touch directly to the yeast. That I should put the salt in the bottom of bowl then the flour and then yeast being on top. I'm really wondering if it really matters now.

I love using my oven with the light on as a proofing box. Question: why is bread dough shaped into a rectangle and then rolled or folded? I hate air pockets in my bread and this step seems to intentionally introduce them. Can't I just dump the risen dough into the pan?

I can cook, but the only thing is I’ve never made homemade bread and I did it for the first time in December. I made the bread Organic I use King Arthur unbleached but I also have Robinhood organic flour thats what my dad used all the time, everything was organic down to my eggs and yeast it came out very good crusty on top. The only thing was, I didn’t leave it in at the time I was supposed to so it the bottom was a little bit undercooked, but I put it back in and it worked so I know now the correct time for cooking. So now I’m not buying bread at the supermarket. My next recipe is Baguettes bread

This past year I have made bread from my sour dough starter and just making plain sandwich bread as well. I have not had to buy bread in over a year, especially after reading the article on what is in the breads at the grocery store. NO THANK YOU!!
