Oh Andrea I’m so sorry this happened to your milk cows and to you & Ben!!! Sounds like a horrific ordeal!!!! I can’t even imagine Ben in the pond trying to get Butter out with waders on! Oh my gosh you must have been beside yourself with concern for both of them! Those cows are soooo big and could really hurt a human. She likes was going to the pond thinking she was at her end! Thank goodness you’ve been able to save them and I pray they stay in milk for you. I’ll be praying for your family and your farm, you’ve certainly had a lot of hardships on the farm but I like how you are real and don’t try to hide the reality of the way it can truly be on a farm. So many try to portray the perfect life and farm life is like all life far from perfect! God bless. ❤️🙏🏻🥰🇨🇦🍁

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I am sorry you had to deal with it, but I am grateful you took the time to show and explain what was going on! I had never heard of Grass Tetany. I did a search to find out if it was a danger with goats. YES, it is. My does are out on pasture. But, I do offer a quality loose mineral, and they are currently being fed some grain (with alfalfa) in the morning before they are let out. The website I consulted recommended those 2 things towards prevention. My goats normally have more browse than grazing, but this time of year there is more grass than browse.

Bless your heart! I have 3 baby doeling goats(never owned goats), who have been sheltered in deep, dry bedding for a month, but they need to go out to the area we have for them...and I am TERRIFIED of everything going wrong...rain, parasites...you name it, I've worried about it(and prepared as best I can). Owning farm animals is stressful. 😂

Wow! So sorry y'all went through this! Thank you for sharing what happened! Rejoicing with you that your girls made it. Our Jersey just calved, so we've had her on Cal Mag and CMPK, but I'm thinking she might need more. I had forgotten about the high mag mineral, so thanks for mentioning that. Milk cows are just so special and it's scary to almost lose them. We almost lost our girl a year and a half ago to bloat. Thanks again for sharing so we can all learn! Blessings!

So next month I will be volunteering At a near by farm we have and watching your videos helps me it gives me a better understanding on what to expect, especially with. Working around cows. Now I’m Visualily impair sorry i’m using my voiceover software to type with my hands instead of text to speech anyways. Watching your blogs I can tell your cows seem friendly I can be wrong. But you do a pretty good job at describing on what you do on a daily basis for farming I will continue to watch for you to help.

Oh my, what a struggle you had. Praying for complete recovery on both cows. Farming is definitely hard at times. I remember Daddy trying to treat bloating on two of our milk cows. They got into the neighbors pasture. I do believe they survived, but I was little and over 55 years ago 😊
