I. This video I show off my new to me sl55 that might be one of the cheapest sl55 amg running and driving in the world
Sad at what happen to her but will get her looking good really soon

The ABC system is going to send you into the poor house. Tip from a 20yr MB master tech. Ditch the entire ABC system and convert it to coilovers. You will knock over 200lb off the car and you won't have to deal with the active body control system.

Better yet, replace the accumulators and abc fluid and enjoy a ride vastly superior to any coil over experience.

@@williamsmith5360 yea, then a valve block blows out, or better yet, the pressure line from the pump to front block. I've been working on that system since it came out. Yes, the ride is great, but the system is a constant headache. when you have a system that operates at 200 bar, shit is bound to go wrong and leak. I've seen 2 R230's in my career catch fire from pentosin. the fluid is very flammable.

You definitely got a steal. I just picked up my 2005 sl55 amg for $8000. Another $500 for 83mm fixed pulley and vrp intake. The good thing was that it is already on coilovers. I’m currently designing my own custom top mount intercoolers. Also needs some maintenance work but a heck of a fun car.

Love the car man, $7300 is a good deal for that if all it needs is a conductor plate. And tires haha. Will look forward to seeing what you go with, I have SL wheels with the same size on my E55.

@@Nd_72 no eBay, no German warehouses, no Russian warehouses, no dealers of Mercedes... eBay has only modules, that have parts of the harnesses... They just cut cables...

Throttle body might have a problem. I never fixed it. My problem comes at flooring.

@@Nd_72 there's a channel Rand-Ash, British guy made from scratch a TCU module for 722.6 and it shifts almost like DSG. Maybe you going to benefit from this.

Definitely ditch ABC, I've done 2 cars so far, just add front and rear sway bars.

@@Nd_72 same engine configuration. I was thinking of connecting beeping speaker instead of the actual gauge, this way interior will not suffer, I think to drill a hole in oil filter housing for weld in bong nut, get someone to weld it in. Tasos Moschatos showed that there's a easier way to connect it by filter housing...

Isn't there an oil pressure port already, thought it was the little rectangular cover with a round fitting in it on the timing cover sorta below the oil filter? I def want to add an oil pressure gauge or at least a warning light to my E55...

@@TireSlayer55 yes, but it's very close to belts and I don't feel that it's an easy option. Otherwise you have to get couple adapters and probably hose extension. KZfaq channel from Canada did put it in his older SL... But it's not elegant in the engine bay.

@@Nd_72 there's 2 modules from and rear, they are on driver side, in front of the wheel. Valves are easy to rebuild. Hydraulic accumulators also there... Fcp lately was sending me "used" parts as new once... But now I'm storing the car on 6 inch 4by4 , this way there no load on valves and in case of leaking, you will not loose bunch of liquid. Coilovers will not have sway bars.

I think Mercedessource recently did some videos on the ABC suspension on the SL's and whether or not converting to coil overs is a good fix...

@@TireSlayer55 most of the coilovers come without sway bars. You can disconnect it on Toyota Corolla to see how it feels, after this you will understand how bad it is to drive without them. Unless you want to drive straight and turn only at 10 mph.

@@TireSlayer55 you can see tovarish, he was actually converting to steel suspension with sway bars. Sway bars kit was not a simple bolt on solution.
