I’ve owned 5 Mercs with the same trans Ml430, ML500, E430, E55, ML55. All the same transmission. 3 of the 5 had “transmissions issues” ALL 3 were fixed by changing/flushing trans fluid. I’ve learned the transmission are extremely robust and reliable, if maintained properly. The Old “722.6 5 speed Transmission “ I have never rebuilt one myself but, paid a shop to rebuild one. I think I could do it myself if I access to a lift. The service you are doing I paid $700 including parts and labor.

Just a tip. remove the electrical connection and lossen the 7mm nut first because its more difficult working on it after the mess from dropping the oil, pan & filter.

I suggest you to cut 4 pcs of 4by4 6inch long and when you park a car put it in raised position and place those 4 wood stands under jack points - this will prolong life of valve seals in abc suspension. As for TCU - look up - rand ash.

Did you ever think of changing the intercooler under compressor, I read a thread couple years ago that one guy increased diameter of pipes that intercooler has... maybe it's possible to have a constant intake temperature under boost!?

Looking at purchasing a SL55 myself …I’ve been looking at VRP for aftermarket performance upgrades that address those intercooler temps

@@benjamingoldsmithjr8540 wrap kit, LSD. In Florida you can get your hydraulic struts repaired ~250$ a corner, Washington convertible pump ~600$. ABC blocks you can do yourself, kit about 25$ front, 25$ rear. Front , rear suspension nitrogen filled bags... Just watch repairs and make sure that you can make it... Glue that panel and plastic hooks, material to panels... Valve cover gaskets, PVC hoses. Mostly done. I recommend to store your car on 6" 4by4 s , so that the car won't drop too low, so you don't loose hydraulic fluid... If you do it yourself - will be cheap.
