I saw them in concert in 1969 when I was 16 years old. Robert Plant was the hottest thing to ever walk. Now he's just old like me, but I can hear this song, and I'm 16 again and he's just as hot as ever. Memories don't age no matter what happens to your body.

Oh, yeah. Robert Plant was hot! And at 18yrs old, so was I! Lol!! I saw them in concert about 6 or 7 times and each time I tried to get as close to the stage as I could, hoping that he would notice me! Lol! Now at 72yrs old I have lots of memories. And the Led Zeppelin's music still lives on and will most likely continue after I'm long gone!

There were three other very influential bands that came from England back in the late 60s. They are Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd, and you could spend the next year or so just reacting to them, along with Led Zeppelin. Band members- Robert Plant, vocals and harmonica. Jimmy Page, guitar. John Bonham, drums. John Paul Jones, bass, keyboards, mandolin...whatever needed doing, basically. Individually, they were all very talented. Together, they were magic, much more than the sum of their parts.

Squeeeeee! You made my day! I saw them in ‘73 Vancouver, BC, CA. I was 16. I’m sure others will agree… you’ll never know how much fun it is to see someone experience Led Zeppelin for the very first time ever. I knew you’d be blown away! They are rock’s dream team, every one at the top of their game. Allow me to introduce you… Zep, this is the awesome yet humble JMBOY. JMBOY, the boys in the band: 🎹John Paul Jones on bass, keyboard, synthesizer, mandolin, flute and more. He’s the quiet one but you may want to do a little research to fully appreciate his talents. 🎤Robert Plant, lead singer. Over the years he’s consistently landed in the top 5 of all time greatest frontmen. IMO Freddie Mercury is his only serious contender. Edit: and Steven Tyler. 🎸Jimmy Page, lead guitar and founder. Jimmy has been lauded as the best guitarist in rock history. I suppose that’s debatable but he was an in-demand session player in his teens, a seasoned musician when he founded LZ at age 24. He’s considered one of the most influential guitarists in history. 🥁Drummer, John Bonham, was a beast on the drums and is to this day recognized as the greatest drummer of all time. Upon his tragic death in 1980 at age 32, the band broke up. They all agreed that with no "Bonzo" there could be no Led Zeppelin.

Excellent. One minor correction; JPJ never played flute, to my knowledge. He did make his keyboards sound like a flute…most notably in Stairway
@AstiJay
@AstiJay Жыл бұрын
@@helenespaulding7562 Thank you! I looked into this further and he played the recorder (3 actually, the bass, tenor & sprano) which is a wind instrument similar to the flute. I think articles written interchanged between calling it a flute & recorder. :) In live performances he used a mellotron for his bass & recorder parts. Originally I too thought it was a keyboard. We learned something new. 👍

@@AstiJay we did! I never knew he played any instrument that required blowing! 😏😉 I do know the recorder. Even made one at summer camp. Hah! A new Zep fact! It’s a good thing to know that there’s always more to learn, even for someone like myself who’s listened to every interview I can find plus books. I’m a real Led-head for sure. Thanks!

The amazing vocals are by Robert Plant, guitar by Jimmy Page, drums by great John (Bonzo) Bonham, and keyboards and guitar by John Paul Jones. That " zooming" noise you hear from left to right is the guitar being played by a violin bow. This band is second to none.

Great reaction -Its entirely predictable what you are going to be doing for the next six months. I am all for the album 1 track 1 method otherwise you will miss great songs- they did not release singles because they did not want t be defined by a couple of famous songs- so the albums are good all the away through. They released two albums in 1969, led zep 1 is widely regarded as one of the best first albums ever. Robert Plant was 19 when they formed - he doesn't do shy. Jimmy page is founding member and producer as well as guitarist. John Bonham and John Paul Jones are also icons and the combination of the four together is magical. Make sure you check out some of the live performances as well as the studio recordings.

Well, the algo brought me here because of Zeppelin and I see you’ve been sampling rock for about a month, with a good, solid base with Queen. You’ve got so much great music to look forward to! The British Invasion was truly an amazing time in popular music and culture. Yes, we had great American bands, but the Titans that strode the world at the pinnacle were Brits for a good long while; The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis, Queen…. And that’s just the monster groups from the 60’s and 70’s…there were many more from late 70’s through 80’s…Def Leppard, Dire Straits….. oh hell. Just too many. Youve got years of wonderful ear candy yo look forward to. Enjoy your journey and welcome to the world of rock! 🤘

I would recommend 2 songs to start out with. The first would be the studio recording of the song "Stairway to Heaven", off of the album Led Zeppelin IV, and the 2nd would be the studio recording of the song "Since I've Been Loving You" off of the album Led Zeppelin III. As you experienced with "Whole Lotta Love", their studio recordings are some of the greatest achievements in audio recording history. Jimmy Page (The bands guitarist) produced every one of their albums. The masses will try to convince you to do reactions to their live songs. Big mistake. Nothing compares to the magic they achieved in the recording studio. If I see someone doing a reaction to a live Led Zeppelin song, and I know the reactor hasn't heard the studio version first, I wont watch the reaction at all. The more you get into Led Zeppelin, the more you'll see I'm speaking facts. Peace

Check out Greta Van Fleet!!! Especially one of their first videos where the lead singer was performing and also dressed like a typical “rocker.” He was compared to Robert Plants voice! And so they got quickly slated as a “Led Zeppelin” band. Obviously they worked to create their own style and sound, GVF’s lead singer can carry notes with perfection!!! (I grew up in the 70’s “rock era” so for a younger generation to help keep TRUE rock music alive and well is great!!)
