I played against this deck online last night, it definitely got some lucky draws and only got its mana base up through the game going on forever, but they beat my Isu deck after I pretty much vomited the whole thing out. Extremely impressive product, props to the design team for making a cool deck with so many different subthemes and backup plans

I'm surprised they didn't include the relevant Surveil lands. Hedge Maze, Lush Portico, Meticulous Archive all seem like better fits thematically than the Scry lands.

Yeah they updated the rules a few years ago so that tokens enter the graveyard briefly before they cease to exist

This is one of the most valuable precons ever printed so great in that sense, but I cant help but feel a little let down that they put chulane in this deck. He so grossly overshadows the two new commanders it feels like an oversight. I think that reprint equity might have been better spent on the manabase.

Nah, I think he's fine. I don't know why anyone would buy this clue themed deck, just to play chulane as the commander. I think people are either buying this precon to: A) play an investigate deck, or B) chop it for parts Either way, Chulain seems fine to me. He's just a value card in the 99 to trigger 2nd draw synergies

@@danielsniff6405 having played this deck with the other precons on TTS the issue with the new commanders is that it is almost never correct to play them. They are ostensibly “clue commanders” but they arent seriously additive. As far as selling the parts goes I dont think replacing chulane with better lands necessarily contradicts that.

@holstenmason I'm gonna have to disagree. I can't see how it would be incorrect to cast the face commander on turn 3 in basically every game. It's a value engine that sits nice on the curve, and grows bigger over time. Seems like a perfectly valid play pattern, especially for a precon.

@@danielsniff6405 most of the three drops in this deck with two exceptions are strictly better cards than morska, and all of the four drops are better than Sophia (and morska if you ramped on two). Add onto that the fact that most of the turn two plays in the deck are ramp and you have a pair of cards that lose what little value they have very quickly.

I dont think On the trail is NOT good in a Zimone and Dina deck. My counterpoint: While the deck is focused on drawing two cards a turn, you already have an outlet for dumping lands form your hand with the commander. You are less likely to have spare lands stuck in your hand. I do think it can go in some builds, but i dont think it's good with more builds of the commander

The decklist looks amazing. but the deck plays horribly. Many of its parts play against each other, terribly slow, most of the cards are high costed endgame cards that require setup. A deck to dismantle and use for spare parts.
