This episode was so great. I guess we, as a community, just love seeing big explosive, fun, super-powerful-bot-not-CEDH stuff on our screens

"Is stax power level 7?" Well I guess you could say that it saps the power of the rest of the table, rather than being super powerful itself? Scales up against unfair things and gets bodied by more simple decks a lot of the time

So rules lawyer here but this is something I learned earlier. But when Crim cast subjugate the Hobbits. He couldn't swing with the kavus and any creatures he gained control of because it doesn't add haste. I thought that if they lose summoning sickness they can never get it back unless flickered or something. But a creature that you control that you didn't control at the beginning of your turn has summoning sickness unless it has or gains haste. 302.6. A creature’s activated ability with the tap symbol or the untap symbol in its activation cost can’t be activated unless the creature has been under its controller’s control continuously since their most recent turn began. A creature can’t attack unless it has been under its controller’s control continuously since their most recent turn began. This rule is informally called the “summoning sickness” rule.

Does Richard just casually have a Ancestrall around that he can play with? I'm impressed.

I feel like none of the top comments explain the problem with the way Richard (and sometimes Seth) view arguments about topics like running non-basic hate. They both view the cards as if a single person in their pod started playing them, while the actual discussion is about the cards being worked into a meta. Richard views strong cards the same way. He will look at card and say “wow this is way to scary this will get you killed” as if no one else at the table would be playing equally scary cards. It makes sense in their playgroup, since usually Phil is the only one ramping fast to then play haymakers, so they just focus him. But if two players are doing that, the situation changes. Also calling strip serenade bad because “it’s pointless to just snap it off on the first commander you see” when his favorite card pact of negation isn’t any better in that situation is funny to me. Of course counters aren’t going to be good if you are snapping them off early on the first thing that scares you

Richard playing the same deck he plays every other week looks a little "bringing a knife to a gun fight". Dowsing dagger a little less scary when you're staring down Fastbond and Sylvan primordial 😅... even funnier watching him cast a cartographer's hawk off an underground sea

Seth proving all by himself why half the banlist is banned 😂 Anyway, unban Recurring, it's innocent! It was all Sundering Titan's fault.

The decks that run wedding ring only reap the benefits. I run it in Nelly Borca and all my card draw is outside of my turn. So I just draw free cards on that person's turn :)

I'm pretty sure that bowmasters should have triggering all game. It only excludes the first card opponents draw during their draw steps, but everyone was drawing due to howling mine. Loved the game though! Excellently unfair fun.
@Niuttuc4 сағат бұрын
Leovold was on the board stopping any non-Crim player from drawing from Howling Mine and Dictate of Kruphix. They both trigger during the draw step so the natural draw happens first, then Leovold prevents the subsequent ones.

FWIW, Fastbond doesn't deal you damage when you play an extra land with it, just whenever you play more than your first land. So even if you have exploration, the land drop for exploration still would deal you damage.

I think keeping the fast mana house ban but allowing the EDH official ban list gives a look at how fair some of the ban list cards are compared to things that are legal in the format.

While these were really great games, super enjoyable to watch, "No Banlist" commander games aren't capable of presenting the entirety of how a format would look with those cards off the banned list. For one, those games are made for content and the players are all encouraged to play cards that are on the banlist, which wouldn't be true for regular games. Regular games might have one or two of those cards show up once in a while. Sundering Titan might show up as often as Armageddon already does. Sylvan Primordial is obviously good but the average Commander player isn't jamming every "really strong" or "must play" card into their decks. I could imagine a world where Channel is unbanned and the creatures cast off of it most of the time are things like Apex Devastator or new Ghalta. Which is obviously strong and frankly rad as hell. I dunno. It's always an interesting thought experiment. But frankly I wish the Commander Clash crew talked about the banned list *less often*.
