When Luffy says he's a pirate, he says so because he views it as freedom. He will not let any law or government structure impede him in doing what he wants to do. What he wants to do, is usually morally good, but how he does it may involve breaking laws and going against the government. That is why he is a pirate.

One thing about sword combat is the stronger you are the more force and speed you can put into a swing. So strength plays a bigger role in speed and the quickness of your attacks and parries. Yes skill and technique play a role too but being stronger adds and advantage.

Cowboy Bebop LA was an embarrassment to its source! CB is a masterpiece of anime and deserves so much better. They didn't capture the essence of the anime at all. Some aspects were ok, but overall, it failed.

It was a big deal for me as a South East Asian fan and it was a memorable part of her lore. But people accused me of fixating on her chests and her outfit when I criticized the casting. Finally somebody actually agrees with me that cowboy Bebop live action wasn't that bad it was just adapted in a way that fans thought was a deal-breaker and didn't just take it in as a standalone story for a broader audience.
