Buggy actually looks intimidating first time he appeared. It was when we found out he is not a threat that he became goofy to us

I love how the CGI looked, especially when Luffy did the gatling. when the live action was first announced, one of the things I really wanted was for the CGI to be like "Kung Fu Hustle" which imo fits the ridiculous, wacky feel of One Piece.

Dang Koby actually looks the most one to one of everyone, it’s actually really nostalgic

honestly, I look forward to it. I agree with Devi, they made it "realistic" and "practical" instead of staying true to anime. Buggy looked scary but I think he was really supposed to be that. Buggy wanted to look scary but his shenanigans always betray him that people dont take him seriously.

Arlong looks as good as possible without heavy CGI. Dracul and buggy look amazing so as a justified hater of most LA Anime, i believe this is worth at least shot.

Buggy is represented as a intimidating character in the early manga so them making him scary asf actually makes so much sense. He was a real threat to the Straw hats in the early stages, he wasn't a weakling so it makes sense for them to make him intimidating.

I think creating bigger people is doable considering we saw Giants in Game of Thrones, but I feel that keeping Fishmen same size as human was creative choice and it would also make it easier for them to have giants later on the show and not having to go with insane sizes just to make them even bigger than Fishmen. Makes sense to me.

I’m really starting to enjoy your guys reactions to the anime and to these trailers because I’ve noticed y’all really pay attention to the overall story and notice the little things. Other reactors just react to get views and never really properly react. Cannot wait until August 31st! We’re almost there Nakama! So many of us weren’t there in 1994 for the manga launch or 1999 for the anime launch but we get to see the Live Action launch. Super hyped! 🙌🏽

I've been so adamant that One Piece should have a live action, and the teaser trailer didn't really sell it to me (although the cast has been flawless from the beginning), but this official trailer has truly made me hopeful and gave me hype, I will be there on August 31st.

I think they really need this to be the biggest success ever because for now the production and CGI looks good imo but this will become exponentially more hard to do and more expensive if the series continues. In east blue there are only 2 devil fruit users, no giants and not that many fantasy creatures and people

Actually wondering how they would cover an episode like in anime they usually cover half a chapter of manga per episode. I think they should cover like 3 to 5 chapters of manga per episode because it's gonna be a drag.

Yeah I just wish they'd make Arlong a little bit taller they were able to do it with Thanos in Marvel but I guess since this is just season 1 they weren't able to go full out with the stuffs so we just gotta support this show so that we can see a lot of amazing characters adapted in amazing way

A few things look really weird. The close up on Mihawks sword i can literally tell its plastic i feel like they forgot to make it look metal in editing. Arlong looks weird for sure. I wanna like it though so hopefully there's not too many more jarring things for me

I'm looking at the live action as bait for people to go watch the anime or read the manga, Sure a lot of the views will be existing one piece fans but the goal is to get more recognition from people that don't consume the medium its already in. I think this will be great because there is new twists to the story shown in the trailer, like Arlong being at the barratie

They can do arlong the way marvel did with thanos for the production but it will be costy i bet.

For me the LA doesn't have to be perfect, if it makes a whole new audience for the One Piece series it's already done well :)

Everything is fine except for Arlong (and the fishmen in general), they made good ones in Pirates of the Caribbean, why weren't they inspired by it? If there was something to copy it was this instead of taking the same musical notes

Buggy is stealing the show already, I like he looks scary, he was scary the first time we meet him before we found out he's... well Buggy Arlong's actor is actually pretty tall, a lot of people, including me, when trying to remember Arlong's shape they think he looks like a upside down triangle 🔽 but he's actually more of a Square ⬜, I think the problem is the Live Action version "has a neck", the anime/manga has a huge decending Trapezius muscle (the one on the back of the neck) it gives a triangular shape on top of his figure, and making that with makeup would limit the actor's movement

They missed Bellamy and Foxy.

My money is on Netflix's ability to screw things up. If they don't I'll be glad to lose that money.

Now i wonder how they gonna make chopper in this live action. 😅

Sanji looks like he got ass whooping from his wife

Apart from arlong and some of the line wires for sanji acrobatics they have visually nailed this its the perfect combination between live action and the anime. They have perfectly cast luffy character to live action you can tell how much fun the actor is having with this and they adapted the character well (you couldnt have luffy directly from the manga into live action the character wouldnt be believable). Im not really sold on the other 4 straw hats yet. Zoro looks awesome in fight scenes but he, sanji and nami just all seem so serious in every scene there are no smiles or any other elements of the characters personalities there hopefully its just the trailer. Visually Usopp actor like luffy looks perfectly cast visually but he is barely in the trailer so cant really get a sense for how well the character is being adapted/played. All that said im really looking forward to this now.

The trailer music throws me out of the OP vibe. I know this kind of music is what they use for pretty much every action/adventure trailer now, likely since it tests well with the most potential viewers to get them interested and hyped, but since it sounds the same as all the other movies and action show trailers it puts me off. I'm actually not as pessimistic about the show as I was when I first heard they were making a LA version after seeing this though. I don't think they can make the whole series this way, but we could get a decent season or two out of it and attract lots of new fans to the brand.

It's a very mixed bag for me on the extreme side. It either looks too good or too bad throughout. Also during the flying kicks it looks a little too obvious that strings were used

Why this project is gonna be short lived. 1) More and more characters with bizzare body shapes will come.. 2) They will age.. Not that I'll watch it anyway, ikimashou!

I was hoping they could’ve made arlong as big as thanos 😔 and roger’s too weak in this. He supposed to be yelling his last words before dying. I don’t get the emotions in this one. This one looks like he has all the time in the world and wanting to tell a story instead of encouraging the citizens cause he is going to open a new pirate era. But other than those 2, all of the things in the live action surpassed my expectations

This looks absolutely terrible lol. LOL at people thinking NF is going to make a decent show when they couldn't even handle death note and cowboy bebop. Two shows much more grounded in reality with a fraction of the storytelling and world building One piece has. The sets look so cheap and fake.

Actually the added/changed dialog does sound cringe to me. & It also doesn't serve to go towards the actual, source story & where it goes. The execution scene was awful, people were basically wearing todays' clothing. Didn't bother to give them actual costumes. Probably found people on the streets & put em right there in their own clothes! Questionable costumes. the sets & physical things made, they look bad. & The animated stuff look very bad too. Luffy stretches, the sea monster (?), Etc. & More. (& I haven't watched live actions so I can't say for sure, but if they sound cringe, it's how they're performing/saying those things (as is the case with almost all English dubs : unbearable), & how bad they are at it, & not necessarily the written dialog of the mangas.)

I wonder how they will do skypia arc as real action movie, please don't talk about arc that they don't watch yets

I'll admit I was indeed too hard on the show after I saw the teaser, it looked awful, but the trailer and the cast convinced me that it will be good 👍
