One Piece is so great of a story, that we went 20+ years only having a name to what the end goal might be, and then get a glimpse of what the reaction of the person who started it all was. And we still have no real idea how the story might end or in which direction the characters might go.

Hey Tekking! Guys! Hello :) So I've been dwelling with writing this since my birthday which happened 2 weeks ago, but I got Covid and things got complicated with it. Anyways I watched this video and thought this had to be the moment, because I'm way to thankful about finding this channel and also there's a lot to unpack on this video. First of all I want to thank Tekking and the entire community for such a nice and wholesome space that has been created around here, I met Tekking a few months ago through KZfaq so I thought it will fit best to write this here instead of using other methods, besides this video to me represents a pinnacle of what I've been discussing with my brothers and other people around about the real meaning of One Piece beyond its obvious place as "just a manga". I know this is a comment section so I'll try to keep it simple, I believe Tekking's theory is spot on, One Piece not only represents an archetypical story through and through but Oda was brilliant enough to remain patient since the very beginning of the story to make it an actual representation of how human beings perceive reality in ordinary circumstances, meaning that as grandiose as the DC or Marvel Universe is, they ran through everything philosophy and meta-linguistics has to offer to this day, reading Western comics as such will bring you to the fine line in which everything is just way too overwhelming to the point that human existence per se might feel irrelevant compared to the possibilities of the assumed mechanisms in our Cosmology, to this day DC and Marvel has exposed many versions of what the pinnacle of power and achievement might be like. In the other hand One Piece grabs your hand and takes you patiently through the path that leads to that glory in one cohesive storyline, making every single happening relevant to the great "end". So in other words One Piece shows "piece by piece" (npi) the evolutionary state of what happens when a human-like being compromises with what's conceived as will or inner-truth to itself. As I said its story is archetypical to the core, it has all those elements we've heard and read over and over since the Iliad and beyond that, we can talk about early Homo Sapiens sedentaries that started with the mythical or mystic in their stories such as Gnostics or Sumerians, all OP's narrative components are cannon to our values, ethics, morals, reason and so forth, which make me agree with Tekking about its deserved place on the vault. Not to mention that Oda has managed to integrate historical and anthropological events that resonate with the conflicts we're experiencing right now as we get used to this hyper-connected global inter-cultural era. Oda hands down has all the chances to conclude his story in such a magnificent way that OP might be considered as a source for discussion to talk about our piece of responsibility as species in the overall scheme of the planetary unfolding. After seeing Tekking being such a passionate man about political and social sciences no wonder why he digs One Piece so much. Oda is brilliant in bringing us all together and for many waking up the due responsibility we've with younger generations to show by example why things matter, why our existence matter and why is not only a pay per view theatrical show to amuse those that have the money to enjoy the show while the rest are fighting for their lives. The story has always been much better on binge than week to week. The completed product is going to be an amazing modern epic, and I hope it's not forgotten even for years after the end. I'm honestly curious how well-known the truth of the One Piece will be once the story has completed.

23 years? Damn can't believe I was only 10 when One PIece first came out. Has it really been that long? Also, that Seed Vault and the Memory Vault, could be interesting plots in Dr. Stone. Think about it, all that humanity has created has been lost since the petrification, but if those vaults still exists in the time Dr. Stone takes place, that could create an amazing story arc.

very good video. I think its easy to dismiss a lot of the stories we enjoy as not being to the caliber of past stories. Humans always revere the old masters and put the past great people and events on a higher pedestal. Like Julius Caesar in his Gallic War's viewing Alexander as this paragon of a general who he can never surpass, even though he was arguably doing just that at the moment. I definitely think one piece is a great story of our times and we are very lucky to be able to experience it as its become this monumental slice of story telling in the 21st century.

The tale of One Piece has been and continues to be a treat where influences of just about anything and everything was used to create a world full of turning gears that anyone can be the protagonist in a way. To always have our main cast play out the main story and still have players in other parts of the world weaving their stories in the background has always fascinated me as well as looking into where Oda collected his research to make the places the Straw Hats visited feel fleshed out. Thanks Tekking for these videos as well for the amazing research for the videos you do as well. Looking forward to what comes next.

I feel you on getting old I'll be 25 here in a week and half. And I definitely agree One Piece should be archived. Dragon Ball probably should too. I personally am not a fan of DB but it has its place in history my personal bias notwithstanding. Dr. Stone is definitely a contender with its take, but I don't the criteria necessary to qualify it so I can't be sure whether it would make it or not. 😆 this was a fun video. And my brother is on Wano arc now, and has said he can't wait to catch up so he can enjoy your videos more.
