I finally understood what u mean by hand positions, I learned that from my range session, cuz the shank came in out of nowhere. So what I learned of my swing is I use my set up as impact of my swing, when it came down to hit the ball, I extend my arms n cause the heel of the club hit the ball instead of the center of the club. So now when I set up I use the center of the club face n the front of the ball line up to my target then set up myself, drop my arm naturally n swing through. Strike the ball much better n consistently. So now I can enjoy the game much better than mad of myself all the time on the course.

Shawn, your golf philosophy combined with Brandel Chamblee’s book are the essence of this game that I have personally believed in (the natural way to play) since I started playing the most beautiful game in the world. You have made my game finally undergo this necessary final transformation, thanks to which I have a great fun of the game, I hit consistently and longer, and my handicap goes down. Thank you, watching your videos is a pleasure. And I agree completely, we have a lot of "qualified" trainers around who take money for practically nothing, unpleasant observation but very true. However, there is hope because we have such wonderful enthusiasts and experts on the subject like you around us, so thank you again for being here and for finding your philosophy on youtoube!

@golflessons

Hey Ashley! This is the thing: It is not a “single plane” as much as a way for the human machine to deliver a grass cutting tool through the grass and along the ground to the target with the grip and posture and appendages that you were born to use for your survival. The way my hands and wrists work, the length of my arms, the way my kinetic chain engages with the body I have there is no way to LOOK LIKE a “single plane” golfer like Savy, Bryson or Moe. However, my tilt is the same, my lag, my release pattern on the same kind of shots, my leverage, brace, steadiness in the head, my up and down action with the ground can rival anyone’s. This game is truly the best game out there.

So..what does this do to aligning behind the ball (forward/back)? I often noticed that Savannah lines up (most obvious on driver) with the ball closer to the toe. It seems that if you extend to the single plane after you start the swing that your arms will extend and therefore you would hit the hozel (or at least heel strike) if you didn't take that into consideration. I'm wondering because I often have to lineup with the ball about a third of the way to the toe to strike the middle of the club. Thoughts?
@golflessons
@golflessons 2 жыл бұрын
The distance between you and the ball CHANGES DRAMATICALLY DEPENDING ON YOUR FOCUS! If you go for the ball, you could shank the driver and when you deliver through the ball (tip of tee) towards the target, then you will likely hit solid! Full extension is at the target, not at the ball!

See “where to park your eyes shawn clement” and “grass whip training shawn clement” and “solid contact with the irons shawn clement” and “drill to flush your irons shawn clement” You are not defective! When you look at the ball, and brain sees the ball, you will easily this or top the thing. When your eyes are on the grass, between the leading edge and the ball and then mind sees “cut through stem” in the direction of the target, and the focus is on how the sole of club cuts through grass and ground’s surface, it changes everything! On our premium channel, you want to see “task trumps everything” and “top 3 tasks” to start, then see “predict contact” and “the goldie locks series” and the “2 tee perpetual motion drill” video.

This is a great video. Earlier this year I was seduced by the marketing barrage of "single plane" from T.G.'s website but it just messed me up. It makes so much more sense to me to have the simple swing thought of cutting grass and making the target the target - not the ball. When I found out that Shawn also worked with Moe it made my decision to block T.G's videos from showing up in my KZfaq feed all the better! P.S. I'm a wisdom in golf premium member too ;)

Hey Sumit! That is correct! You saw the distance to ball with all clubs and remember that the hands are farther from the body with the longer clubs? On the premium channel, see “the throwing series” where we throw clubs and items of different lengths to show this and many viewers right now think that the hands are same distance to the body with all clubs. This is why so many struggle with the long irons and woods and driver! See also the latest long iron video called “gently flush the long irons shawn clement”

Wouldn't the backswing (Savannah) be even smoother if she, at address, held her trail elbow a bit lower and keep it inside the hip? (Would put the trail arm into a bit more into the shape that it has during the swing to the top, eliminating the motion from stretch to bend.)

See “secret to John Rahm’s swing is width shawn clement”
@wordclouds2906
@wordclouds2906 2 жыл бұрын
@@golflessons That is why I am asking: You create a flying elbow and then bring the elbow back in while flattening. (and isn't flattening about eliminating leverage?) If you keep the elbow inside the right hip and down at address, your right arm goes goes up without getting into a flying position consequently without need for repositioning, without loss of width. I can imagine some benefits to a flying elbow and some benefits to not having a flying elbow. My thought is that a flying elbow enhances the chance that a player might apply undesired leverage to the handle.
@golflessons
@golflessons 2 жыл бұрын
@@wordclouds2906 The flying elbow is a HUMAN BUILT IN MOVEMENT PATTERN!! You would never coach a baseball pitcher, hitter, lumberjack, tennis player, Jai Alai athlete etc to keep their elbow in. This would kill the power AND NATURAL RELEASE PATTERN that you needed 1000 years ago to throw stuff at your food. Golf instruction has brainwashed us into thinking we are defective when in fact we are the opposite; we are Pinocchio with no strings and as we practice this way, we get better and evolve amazingly well!

It boils down to the “look” of things and golf instruction throughout the years has had it’s ups and downs naming names of swing systems. In our schools, you are the going concern and not some theory based on someone’s opinion. Your machine has it’s way of delivering the ball from point A to point B and it’s our job to find out what tasks you need to focus on to get all the body parts to engage into what we call a “kinetic chain” or “Kinematic Sequence” that is truly a human reflex. You want to be able to throw and sling and whip through into the flight plan EASILY and we provide you with all the TRUE FUNDAMENTALS of dynamic grip, dynamic posture, a blue print to gather a full backswing to allow you to deliver with the fullest potential momentum WITHOUT STRAIN; AS STRAIN IS THE ENEMY OF THIS ACTION. www.wisdomingolfpremium.com is really the way to go and we now have a great new partner on accessing all this important information through these amazing people wisdomingolf.retrieve.com/store/#/
