This is the most beefy crossplatform SDR application with multiple decoding options. However it requires quite strong PC.
Currently supports following decoding options :
Analog - AM, APT, Broadcast FM, DSB, FM, NTSC, PAL, SSB, VOR
Digital - 802.15.4, AIS, ADS-B, APRS, DAB, DAB+, DCF77, DMR, dPMR, D-Star, DVB-S, DVB-S2, FreeDV, LoRa, M17, MSF, Packet (AX.25), Pager (POCSAG), RS41 Radiosonde, TDF, WWVB
In the video I am showing AM/FM decoders, APRS , ADS-B and digital speech using Windows 10 based laptop. However this app also works on Linux like Ubuntu.

cool! I've also used that program. and It sure does need a powerful PC. I still prefer SDR++, I would use SDRangel to decode some digital signals that other software cant decode. It also has an option to transmit!

Just a few suggestions: Use Broadcast FM demod rather than WFM demod for FM radio, to get stereo and RDS. To zoom out on the map use the mouse scroll wheel (or pinch track pad). For APRS, try opening the APRS and Map features as well, and then it will decode the APRS packets and plot them on the map (Press the Spanner in the tool bar to add a feature)

You can monitor trunked radio (DSD) but you're either going to have to get two rtlsdrs or use something that can capture both the trunk control channel(s) and the channels used for the actual conversations. There is specific software to surveil all conversations in range of the monitor on a trunked radio network and capture them to disk and/or listen in in real time. I Just picking up spurious transmissions here and there without tracking the control channel is not going to be that useful because conversations between sets often change frequencies after each transmission and you're at best going to get a jumble of bits and pieces of various conversations.

dude thank you for real i been trying to use this app for almost 2 years i finally have audio i couldn't figure out why i didn't have audio i thought the app wasn't agreeing with my hardware cause it did the same thing on Linux and my old POS computer thanks i figured it was user error cause it shows it picking up FM broadcast stations in the waterfall and spectrum but no audio my newer computer it was doing the same thanks

Yes I just tried sdr Angel for the first time today with a Hackrf one. I also am getting no audio. What fixed it for you may I ask?

Can ADS plug-in be usable off-line? Can you load the map and communicate data from RTS-SDR? if not, any options to have this capability? This is a great platform with lots of potential. I want to find something that I can use while off-line so I can take this with me out while camping, etc. Any suggestions?

yes, ADS plugin does not require internet connectivity. You will get aircraft position through RTLSDR but the full map will not be loaded. You will see the coordinates and plane identification details

Probably a stupid question but is it bad for the SDR dongle when you have the gain turned all the way up the entire time?

DSD demodulator do not work if you add it after starting device. To make it work, first add DSD plug-in and then start the device. Thank me later

it may have problems with your rtsdr dongle model. Have you sent these info to the developer of this application? maybe he will be able to help you with this
