One Week On, Learning the Cello | The Cello Diaries

Here’s how my cello practice is going, one week on. I share a little bit about the routine I’ve gotten into for my cello practice including half the time spent watching some videos about the correct posture and good bowhold, to try and get my technique better. Then I go through the warmups in my beginner cello books and finally, I finish by playing some open strings songs along to some music tracks.

You're really getting good at the Electric Cello

Hello!I'm a cellist and so happy are starting the best instrument ever. one thing that I am noticing is that you're really tense in the shoulders. before starting every practice session, be sure to shake your arms and relax, your shoulders are kind of up in the air, they should just be staying down. your posture is amazing keep up the good work and the pain will go away.

Thanks Sean! Thank you so much for the encouragement and tip - I definitely think I’m not very relaxed yet! I’ll try shaking it out and bringing my shoulders down before I practice! It really is a lovely instrument to learn and play!
