Back in 2018 we started our World Cycling Tour to the Far East. We were incredibly excited to go but also a bit anxious to be leaving home for possibly two years or more. With many wonderful encounters along the way, amazing landscapes, wild camping and cooking our own meals, we still missed our family and friends but discovered a world full of hospitality and wonders. This is the bicycle touring short film from our first year on the bike, cycling together towards the rising sun...

I cycled 6000km in Japan in 2019 with my girlfriend. It was hard, tiring, rainy, but also beautiful, enlightening, confronting. Your film made me wanna jump back on the bike and take off to anywhere. Thank you so much.

Back in 1980, I spent a year bicycling through the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It's always great to hear from other world cyclists. Since then, I've had the pleasure of meeting and hearing from so many other cyclists who have toured the world. Even though it's been over forty years since I did my tour, I have great memories and love to hear of others doing it! One question I would like to ask is if you feel that the world is still a safe place to experience on two wheels?

You will have wonderful memories . My greatest memories aged 61 years are of 5000 miles of cycling across Europe in 1986 to 1987. The landscapes and the sense of freedom are always with me.

the universal human blessing in travel is the invite to eat and visit with strangers the world over. how hard many people work to maintain negative vibes toward others. and how this all melts away when you actually leave home. far too few go adventuring.

I think the best invention or Innovation to bicycle touring or bicycling in general is the "Retro Grouch"...that teach us that the New Ways are not better...then the Old Way...just more expensive....

Last year my wife me got stuck in Thailand for seven months and I probably watched all of your videos a couple of times, it was great to see the nice couple traveling over countries and meeting so many situations, I loved it and every now and then still watch again, congratulations for the nice work and videos you put for us.

At 12:50 you are in a hazelnut orchard. And the shotgun-like sound is a system to keep wild boars away from the orchard. It uses a propane tank and blows constantly. You didn't have to worry. My people lives around there. And my people are peaceful.

I have a truck to get around but I choose to take my bike to fish 4 lakes in one day ! It's fun to get exercise and see the country views ! Yous guys must of had lots of fun

Truly awesome video guys - great commentary and fantastic footage with amazing effects and angles. I have watched A LOT OF cycle touring vids and this would have to be one of the best. I look forward to seeing how the next year pans out. I started to get excited when i saw where you were crossing into Iran, the same place i did about two years ago, I was hoping to see where you went there but it looked like you just did a snippet of Iran - well worth a longer time "next time" lol!! There's something about you Dutch - i think maybe every second cyclist i saw in Iran was Dutch. A Dutch motorcyclist made my trip so much easier by giving me hints and suggesting a few apps that I would have really suffered without in Doğubeyazıt, and i hung with a Dutch couple in Yazd for a few days which was great fun. Let me know if you get to Australia

So great to see this video and your adventure. You both are really athletes to be going through such rugged country and so many great experiences! I will be going the other directions, I hope, with an ebike. To keep going I'll have to do a lot of peddle assist and find less rugged roads, but such beautiful places! Nicer you're doing this while you're young! I'm 67 and by the time I get my equipment I'll be 68. It's my bucket list. I look forward to your other videos! Thanks for sharing!
