Dan Bardell to me you are quickly becoming Mr Villa and as a Villa fan myself i have to say that you are a credit to the club. Whether we get promoted or not Dean Smith, The Coaching Staff, The Players and Strangely for me to say even the Board all seem to be on the same page and Aston Villa are moving in the right direction and for the first time in at least 10--15 seasons we seem to have a structure in place and a clear plan of how the club will operate in the future. With this game against Derby tomorrow i find myself in a totally different mindset compared to the same time last season as this time round if we fail to achieve the objective set out a the start of the season with the new owners and the short term objective given to Dean Smith and the Coaching Staff on their arrival that if its not reached and promotion doesn't happen this season that i know we are in the right hands moving forward. The single fact that Dean Smith & the Players have rebuilt the broken relationship between the supporters and the Players massively damaged by the playing squad during our relegation season from the Premier League. When we got Relegated i knew that Aston Villa would face a period of time of uncertainty as because of the manner of our Relegation and the length of time (prior seasons) of our demise that we were like a oil super tanker out at sea and to turn the negatives around would take time and crazily enough i do have to thank Steve Bruce partially for this even though i wasn''t happy with the style of football we played or the way he put together our squad to start this season with a real lack of emphasis on strengthening the defence, which has been our Achilles Heel until the end of January early February until Dean Smith had the opportunity to rectify the decision. But Steve Bruce did actually start to turn us the Super Oil Tanker around but his sacking was correct as new and fresh ideas was needed for us to build a long term plan.If we had gone up last season under Steve Bruce as a club i think we would have found ourselves in a worse position that Fulham find themselves as without a plan we would have done what Fulham did and signed over priced mediocrity on stupid contracts only to get relegated again and facing another 2-3 seasons being handicapped with trying to move them out of the club like we had with Richards, Lescott and Agbonlahor. Steve Bruce defo would have done to Aston Villa what Harry Redknapp and Mark Hughes did to QPR. So losing the Playoff final even though it hurt last season was a blessing in disguise and under the new ownership and Dean Smith i am more confident that a longer term plan is in progress and that more emphasis will be placed on building a team rather than bringing in over paid pegs to plug holes with players that have no understanding or players that don't 100% care for Aston Villa or our long term needs. Even if we lose tomorrow i actually feel that a full pre season training camp under Dean & Co even if it means we lose Mings, El Ghazi and worst case Super Jack Grealish (hope not) and another season with Dean Smith at the helm at Aston Villa we can build a solid team we can be proud of for years to come. If we do win tomorrow then i will be over the moon and happy for the club but even more happy for my fellow villa fans as we have been through a lot and have still shown class even when things fell apart around us so for that fellow Villians i Love you all. Lastly to Bolton, Sunderland, Portsmouth, Charlton, Blackpool and Notts County fans i feel for you all and pray that your clubs bounce back to former heights under control of someone with good intentions. These clubs fans should join together and sue the Football Association and demand all information on how they carried out the fit and proper persons act on their disastrous owners with all clubs seeking damages.

Multiple times I have been drawn back to savour this blogging masterpiece that summarises perfectly in tone and poetic content Villa fans’ rollercoaster of a ride these last 12 months. This particular podcast is pure journalistic brilliance - one to be saved for posterity. Thank you for all of your hard work making it, I cannot imagine how many precious hours you must have put into it. On a totally separate issue I’d like to say that there is a similarity in my favourite podcasts, The Villa View & V.O.T. to my choice of newspapers, one a red top & the other a quality broadsheet. The one podcast, I enjoy dipping into to get my quick Villa fix and the other, V.V., I will put to the one side so as I can find time to do it justice. However, V.V. or V.O,T., fortunately, we do not need to chose between them, they are complimentary, long may they both continue entertaining our REBORN Villa family. UTV & DS.
