Күн бұрынFlamingoOS currently runs Android 12, with Android 13 coming soon! [EDIT: Android 13 Flamingo is now official!]
My favourite ROM for the OnePlus 7 series previously was KOSP, but since development was moved to FlamingoOS, I couldn't exactly recommend a dead end ROM now could I?
With high hopes that FlamingoOS would capture the magic of KOSP, I can now know exactly what Flamingo offers for the Oneplus 7 Pro and Oneplus 7T Pro devices.
Very solid indeed, I can't wait for Android 13 support, but I will be sad to see Lawnchair go when that comes around.

Android 13 Update: Installed by downloading the full file then installing via updater > local upgrade Default clock app crashed when opening, clearing cache and storage fixed it Lawnchair has been replaced by Quickstep launcher as Lawnchair isn't fully compatible with Android 13 yet, so you miss out on some of those cool features In return though, Android 13 is looking and feeling great, well before OnePlus even delivered Android 12! 😬 Also, I'm no longer getting Crash Dump Mode when powering off 🎉

That looks like the correct file, odd. You could try backing everything up, then flashing the fastboot file via fastboot

I don't expect you would see all that much difference tbh, only worth swapping if Flamingo does something important for you that YAAP doesn't - otherwise wait to see how A13 looks

Yeah, that's fair - you might be better off finding an app to do something similar as I don't expect to see it on a ROM. I personally don't love the similar feature on Samsung as it gets in the way of back swipes 😬

Unfortunately won't be able to unless it gets a wider release. Currently it looks like an unofficial release and only on the 7Pro (I have the 7TPro)

I just flashed Flamingo 2.1(13) on my 7T. RAM management could be better for a phone with 8GB of RAM. OOS 12 on my 8T keeps my apps open longer in the background before killing them. I think I'll need to play with the battery optimization settings to get it to work how I like. That said, so far I find the auto-brightness to be a bit better than the other ROMs I've tried. I'll have to use the phone for a while to see how my battery life is. Notifications seem pretty reliable so far. The Quickstep launcher is still vastly preferred over the Pixel launcher(I can actually remove the search bar from the dock area of the home screen), though I would like to see a return to Lawnchair in the future. I'll need to see how good the charging speed is using Warp 30. Face unlock would have been nice to have, but Flamingo OS won't support it unless Google adds it to AOSP.

The RAM issue is odd as I had the opposite complaint with OxygenOS, but they did most likely improve it in the 8 series I'm glad that things are working well otherwise though, I do agree with you on Lawnchair too, it's really great. I hope that with Face Unlock and Variable Resolution appearing on the Pixel 7 Pro, we might get these filter into ROMs at some stage

Flamingo over KOSP, as KOSP is no longer supported Unfortunately yet to try Paranoid, but I hear it's a bit less feature rich - I may check it one day

@@sakitperut123 I just updated to a12.1 but found out that sometimes I see animations stutter and KZfaq is working like in 30-45fps. Before on A10 there was no problem. I have formatted after update

It shouldn't be too different from standard - just ensure you're on the required base version before upgrading and you should be good

Definitely give Flamingo a go, very similar to KOSP and more of the OnePlus features tend to work

The fingerprint area glows green (not the usual bright white) when unlocking, but that's all I've noticed - no overall increase of brightness

Hello, I have a great idea for you, how about doing a review and installation guide for MIUI 13? Excellent firmware, for me it's much better than the drain and other AOSP firmware. I use MIUI 12.5, there are no critical bugs, there are no shortcomings, very stable firmware, but honestly I would like to try version 13, compare them and see what the differences are, I would especially like to see it from you, you are just one of my favorite channels on this topic

So, I've been thinking about getting the Pixel Experience, in your opinion, should I go with Flamingo or no? I'm just looking for a more stable ROM, I'm not in for the whole customization thing, just want to get rid of my Oxygen Beta version.

I found Flamingo stable, even on Android 13. You could try Pixel Experience first though, or Flamingo A12 - Both are good gateway ROMs to get you hooked. The advantage of Flamingo is it's a bit more tailored to OnePlus devices, so you keep the gestures and don't have issues with the popup cam and alert slider - it's not always the case with PE as it's ported to so many devices.

Using Flamingo OS and all I can say are great things, a few minor bugs (the most annoying one is the fingerprint activation making your brightness go to max), but literally nothing major or "usage-breaking" sort of thing. Haven't installed any custom ROMs since my old Xiaomi Mi5, I couldn't believe how easy it was (maybe it's just 1+, but it was damn easy). Thank you so much for your help and reviews, I hope to see reviews for new Android 13 ROMs :)

Any reason for the concern? It's not recommended for most custom ROMs and generally shouldn't be necessary

Yep, this process will be fine. I came from OxygenOS 12 beta before Flamingo, so used the MSM tool to revert to stock OxygenOS11 before installation

I'm trying to switch to Flamingo but the MSM tool keeps giving me param reload. I tried everything I uninstalled the Qualcomm drivers tried different ones and I keep bumping into the same error. any suggestions?

I am facing lag issues on KZfaq while playing videos on either 720p60 or 1080p60, I tried going to Developer Options and enabling the "Disable HW Overlays". It really did nothing and I still am facing the same issue. I am very new to custom ROMs, do you have any other solution regarding this issue? Installed the latest A13 Flamingo OS just today.

This is apparently a bug in version 2.3, and you should get 2.2 if you want to stick to flamingo Unfortunately no further updates are coming to otherwise fix this issue though :(

Depends if there is anything specific that you're after, or if there are features you really like on PE+ Pixel Experience Plus has more extras and gestures, but many I didn't really use, so I didn't miss them? Flamingo is good if PE isn't supporting the OnePlus stuff properly like gestures, alert slider and edge light

@@FilthyCasualTech I did 'fastboot oem unlock' before fastboot update command, still got error in-between saying: 'FAILED (remote: 'Fastboot command (set_active:) is not allowed when locked')', any step you think I missed here. is this zip file for Flamingo OS 13 right one?: fastboot update FlamingoOS-v2.0-oneplus7tpro-user-Official-GApps-20220913-1653-fastboot.zip Thanks :) note: After this error I was getting qualcome crashdump error, so I used MSM tool for unbricking and flashed stock OS.

Sounds like you've had to start again anyway Would usually say lock then unlock again in these situations, but hopefully the next unlock works better for you

Currently playing around with Flamingo 2.2 (A13) and you're able to hide the gesture bar via system > gestures > system navigation Do wish I had this option on the stock Pixel 😞

Oh, don't think I've ever thought of that before No setting for that I'm aware of, other than turning off most of the icons I have seen some root/ADB options floating around but many wouldn't work anymore as I believe the overscan approach has been fixed

You should be fine to flash this (assuming it's the A13 version), and if anything goes wrong you still have MSM

Not trying to jump up and down here. This opersting system is virtually impossible to find and download anywhere. The links on this show do not work and you get redirected to Yapp OS on many of the sites. If anyone can find a working download site for this rom well done lol?

Yep, FlamingoOS has been discontinued and it looks like their download servers have come down - so unfortunately best using a different ROM

At least on 2.3, Atmos appears as an app and looks to work With my Sony WF XM4s, LDAC appears in dev options, but all aptX ones are greyed out

Flamingo unfortunately won't get any more updates, so if you want to give this one a go I would recommend going for 2.2 instead as it's less buggy :)

Messing with Lineage at the moment. Then mostly keeping an eye on A13 stuff as it feels hard to go back to 12. Only seen PE and Flamingo on 13 so far, with YAAP just behind

Hey brother, installed the ROM on my 7t, it's awesome but there are some issues, Slowmotion not working and no Dolby Atmos support, is there any ways to fix those?

No Dolby that I'm aware without rooting Depending on what you're after, you could try Wavelet? Slowmo isn't something a use much so I forget to try, but does it work on any other camera apps - Gcam or OnePlus cam?

@@FilthyCasualTech Yeah.. My fingerprint sensor won't recognize my fingerprints, but restarting the device will fix the issue, and it won't persist forever... There are many bugs in the operating system as well.

Depends what you're willing to put up with. Most custom ROMs tend to have a poor fingerprint experience, so you have to balance features vs that. You could always go back to Flamingo1.1 if it worked well for you, as you won't find many other Android 13 experiences I found Pixel Experience pretty bug free, but again - worse fingerprint

There are apks you can download for OxygenOS Cam, I didn't try it for Flamingo though - GCAM was good

Nice rom but Idk I like use AOSP even you can't see much different between them. So I stick to Project Elixir
