Onewheel GT hill climbing torque test versus XR. The hills are approx 21-22 degrees which is about a 39% grade. According to the owners manual, riding a hill more than 15% grade voids your warranty!

The gt has more windings, the nominal voltage of both the xr and the gt is 62v ( correct me if wrong on the pressure ) so they both have the same available pressure but the gt has greater flow ( amperage ) due to more windings

With around 10 000 k on a cbxr I can say 100% that it has better torque than stock but it does NOT have more windings so the gt will have more torque than any xr molded or not ( unless somebody swapped for a motor hub with more windings )

Wow can FM technically see through your app data that you climbed a hill steeper than 15% grade? I would never ride a 39% incline but am also not carrying around a protractor to determine the angle of a reasonable hill in my day-to-day use.

I don’t think that the board can sense what grade you are on. It can sense that it is regen’ing but I don’t think it does much with this info. Not my area of expertise though, people who are working on VESC stuff know a lot more than me

Yes. Especially if you drop pressure. Pint has a smaller tire in general. If you don't have one, you might not see it in the films, but it's quite a difference. Pint is a wobbly little machine. I still like it, but it's not my favourite.

@JakeLeary
@JakeLeary 2 жыл бұрын
I used Highline and Mission. I didn’t try elevated because it was the lack of power/torque that was stopping me, not the nose hitting. That would be a good one, but for this video I wanted to take skill out of it and just test the power of the motor

@@JakeLeary now that you’d had the GT for a few days, would you suggest that someone buy the GT, if they have the XR. I have had my XR for about 2-3 years, unbreakable board…GT look cleaner but also looks more fragile; also I love doing nature trails.

This board was not CB, but the torque / hill climbing of XR vs CBXR should be the same at full/high battery
@MrDmadness
@MrDmadness 2 жыл бұрын
@@JakeLeary the cbxr is wired in series parallel and has greater continuous amperage ( about 30 amps ) and more cells, it climbs much better than stock. Voltage is pressure amperage is flow.. think of it like filling a bucket with water from 2 liter bottles.. the stock xr is let's say 4 bottles available to "pour" ... the cbxr is more like 6, and so bucket fills faster ( just random picked numbers for explanation purposes, but I'm sure you get my point ) ... try it out, ive both a stock board and a cbxr and I can tell you for sure the cbxr climbs better. Respectfully intended.

What would be a good enough reason? If range isn't it and torque is also not a good enough reason, what would a board have to offer? I'm genuinely curious, because those two were mine. Speed is out of the question because of California law. They are not allowed to make this kind of vehicle faster.

@@offroadskater I am a small 55Kg guy, maybe thats why the XR is powerfull enough for me. I like it light and a squishy wheel what the GT with the bigger rim cannot offer. Would appreciate more range but not for the cost of a heavier board.

@@freerideziege6047 Then maybe the Cbxr will solve any range problems for you, if your board allows it and you can continue using your XR. I kind of envy you. I'm not the heaviest guy either, but I feel my XR struggling uphill. My wife at 52kg just flies by on ascending trails, while my board stutters. I need more torque. Also 11km on trails is just very limited. Unfortunately the cbxr doesn't work on my board. So, bye bye 6000 Euros for 2 boards for me then.. Still worth it.
