haha, I bought the same Asuka figure and was considering the other one you didn't buy when I was in Japan (I didn't buy it either cause these figures take so much precious space in the suitcase)! I went mad as well in Evangelion Store, but I only bought a few things - my fav is NERV card holder that I use all the time!

I just went and I got the Dynaction Eva 1 figure. Which was a real bitch and a half to find because they had him in displays at department stores, but had sold out at that point.

Your editing is on point mate. Love your new look too. Storytelling could use a bit of work. But maybe cos the content is really different from your usual video essays? That's why it doesn't seem to be taking off...😔

@@OniMaruWow, you replied! Haha ok so if I may just offer my 2c worth since you asked. Take it for what it is, nothing but my opinion after all: 1. Thumbnail: I think the thumbnail is not as attention grabbing as it could be? I'm not sure what's the story being told when I look at it. What am I supposed to feel when I look at it? Curious, shocked, excited, sorrow, etc? Ppl dunno, so they might not click. But I've seen your previous thumbnails; I know what u can do so nuff said 😏 2. Storytelling: I think the main issue is I didn't know what the main character (you) wanted. What was the character's goal? What was the obstacle he faced? How did he overcome it? What were the stakes? How was he changed in the end? It kinda became a series of remarkable events (or purchases in this case) with no particular point to them. It lacked a climatic moment. On the other hand, I think it would have made a great Patreon-only video for fans who are familiar with u and just want to see what u were up to in Tokyo. What kept me watching was cos I've followed your channel for awhile and I just watch cos it's YOU, n I wanted to see how YOU blew $1k on Eva lol. But for the unfamiliar viewer, they probably need something more to retain their attention. It might have been more gripping if you say, had to find 10 figures of Asuka in different outfits in 1 hour or you'd have to eat the spiciest ramen in Tokyo or something 😅 3. Title: Tbh, blowing $1k on anime merch in Tokyo is quite easy. But if u really wanted to stick with the original video content, u could go with "I WASTED my entire month's salary on THIS anime in Tokyo" or something. Throw in a pixelated Asuka in the thumbnail with a big "?". Then don't reveal how much you actually spent in total till the end to keep em watching lol.

how much you sound inspired and impressed about items connected to this specific show you keep mentioning moments about the show and keep talking about it the way you keep putting clips of it you over-hyping it a lot it better be worth the hype I'm going to go watch it i watched alot of 70's to 90' anime's growing up although never touched Evangelion.

I don't really get the obsession with Evangelion. Multiple video essays, and even watching part of the original anime, I found it fell flat. Now it could be that I've had 15+ years, and around 600 or so shows worth of anime to establish what I like and dislike, but I didn't find Evangelion enjoyable. The main character doesn't make me want to root for him, and the only character I found myself rooting for ends up getting snuffed out. The animation and art were enjoyable, and the music was excellent. But compared against other classics I just found Evangelion to be lacking. Maybe I'll finish the series at some point, but at the moment it's pretty low on the list.

eva is the type of anime you have to be at a certain point in your life to enjoy, i watched it as a depressed teen, and as the years passed. when shinji finally got to get his happy ending in the rebuilds i felt complete. Anno's quote applies "Evangelion is like a puzzle, you know. Any person can see it and give his/her own answer" Evangelion gave me the means to satiate my existential dread
