The last few moments where so scary for me, I thought it was Charles and I was losing it. Then I realise it jas Sazz and I was heartbroken, what an amazing ending.

all I know about this finale is setting us up for Jane Lynch heavy flashbacks..and I'm here for it 100%! I really do think it has to do with Jan...where Sazz was shot is where Charles used to sit and listen to Jan. I think the sensitive thing is that Jan was getting out. I've had a funny thought that the last season of this show would deal with the appeals of all the people they put away. Kind of like an homage or satire to armchair detectives. All those appeals will connect to the one mastermind we keep hearing about that the creator mentions that ties back from season one. Teddy? Jan? Cinda? I've thought it was Cinda, but now I wonder if it's Teddy.

As soon as Sazz said she was going off from Charles I knew immediately that she’d be the one dying (I didn’t like seeing her die) but I would have been gutted if it was Charles. I’m thinking of all of the suspects… Jan, Joy, Matthew Broderick, Scott Bakula?! It may have been Sazz who was being targeted… it’ll be exciting to see

I knew we're setting up next season's mystery as soon as things were wrapped up with Donna and Cliff mid-finale, and when Sazz showed up and went to Charles', knew immediately she was in danger! Question is, did someone mean to kill Charles, or Sazz, and picked this moment to create confusion and cover their tracks? Is it linked to Jan? I don't want the main trio to be split up at all, so I don't want either of them to be killed off. I like my triplets! ^_^

I think Joy or her boyfriend killed Saz mistaking her for Charles to get revenge on him for mistakingly proposing and then letting his friend wear her mom’s old wedding dress around town! I think it’s clear they were trying to kill Charles

Season 1 was still my favourite and I was so sad when Sazz died because she was always a treat to watch. Excited for S4! Great Breakdown, have enjoyed it every week.

A few thoughts. First: DON'T kill one of the main characters--that's an awful crutch that writers use when they've run out of ideas. It's like having the lead female character raped--as a motivation for the main male character to go after the villain. Don't do it! As for Ben's death, I predicted several weeks ago that it was an Accident--and if the police/courts believe that Ben died the way we watched it in the flashback, Cliff will get a very minor sentence. His main crimes were NOT reporting what happened/lying to the police; and leaving the scene of a crime. The death itself would be ruled "an Accidental Death" due to a fight. Hopefully Cliff will also get some mental health treatments. Donna will be liable for Attempted Murder, even if she didn't intend to kill Ben. But, given her stage 4 cancer, and her wealth that will allow her to hire the Best Attorney possible, she'll probably be allowed to live out her remaining days without going to prison. Finally, on the Sazz murder. It's too early to make any solid predictions--not enough info is available. But, it will be The Murder case of Season 4. And, I agree with your notion that Charles has been in danger for some time...as well as the fact that Charles (like Ben) has not always been the "nicest" person to others, as he advanced his career in an extremely competitive profession. It will be interesting to see if S4 delves more into the dark side of Celebrities. It was explored a little with the Ben Glenroy character this year (and even a little with Matthew Broderick), so it's a subject that could be played with more in S4.

Liked the twist at the end. Liked how so much was in plain sight.

In addition to Jan or Joy, it could be Jerry or Jonathan. I don't know what either's motive would be. Additional theory: Sazz was going to tell Charles that she, like Donna, was terminally ill. The ironic twist of Season 4 would be that the murder victim was not long for this world anyway, and her being murdered spared her a painful death by natural causes.

In the Bunny scene we first think all season it's 14 Salvage but ends up being 14 sandwich. I won't read too much into next season yet

weirdly... i think Charles Mabel and Oliver's Arc's kinda linked in a way. Mabel is a few chapters behind but during the seasons we've seen Charles and Oliver remain somewhat stuck too. Oliver regretting his ALMOST big moment with splash/finances , Charles rejecting or finding the worst love interests... and this season they both grew. Oliver a hit sensation, and Charles actually accepting his insecurities and flaws, deeming himself worthy of love. It took Charles and Oliver some time to find it but they did. Mabel has just turned 30 so even though her arc hasn't moved much since season 1.. i think it's realistic tbh. They're just 3 friends, each at different stages, but wanting to solve crime together :) ofc it's annoying sometimes plot wise because we all want to see things progress. but idk.. kind of poetic they can solve these complex crimes that the police can't but yet their own lives are too much?

Season 1 - 9/10 Season 2 - 8.5/10 Season 3 - 8/10 I don't want any of trio to die it's not needed for this show. Yeah feel like we might go to LA mid season.

This season finale and murderer reveal was extremely underwhelming

My one criticism is you are waaaaaay too into Charles dying as a plot twist. It's not GOT, it's a little murder mystery show that lives and dies on the chemistry of the ensemble cast. I think we'll maybe get 5 seasons at most, so I don't think it's gonna happen. I think it would be a cheap shocker if they went that way. I have to say, Cliff felt like he came out of nowhere, he felt like a comic foil until he wasn't.

My predictions for the new celebrity in the sting apartment will be Joy and Scott Bakula

I hope that down the rode they don't end season four with death of Charles. I hope they have a happy ending for the Trio

I don't understand how this could be termed an accident. He purposely pushed Ben over and over until he got to the elevator. He knew in the heat of the moment he was pushing him to his death. Only once he discovered his Mom's taking the blame that he admits to the kill. It wasn't like when Theo accidentally pushed Zoe. Theo went to his Dad throwing up and crying. Cliff did non of that. He showed no remorse until caught

Yes I had (unfortunately) seen the spoiler. For those that dont know, the spoiler was they released the CD soundtrack for OMITB Season 3, and one of the last tracks was titled "It was a mistake mom". So, from that you could know it was either going to be Cliff or Dickie, and then it was clear it wasnt Dickie, so the answer obviously became Cliff. It was then just a matter of "how is this going to be an accident Cliff is responsible for". And I just came up with something that would attempt to match that as others did. First of all....this is not a "murder", and therefore I call BS on this entire season, on the writers and they defiantly were lazy this year. Compared to Season 1, Season 3 is a "stinkeroony" as Ben would say. Im also uncomfortable with the ending, because the cops still dont have any proof of how Ben died. I guess we are to assume Cliff is going to be charged and will plead guilty. But if I were his defense attorney, I would tell him to plead not guilty and let the DA prove it. Since there is none, other than a Cliff confession, there is plenty of room for reasonable doubt. Lets not forget the other lazy mistakes this season. The finger tattoos on Ben, which they got wrong multiple times. When Ben is falling to his death, he is not holding a hankie. These are major mistakes for a show that seemed to pay incredible attention to details. They make the plot about a musical, and have Broderick and Mel Brooks make cameos....a too obvious nod to "The Producers", who it turns out are the "killers" When both the Trio and Cops were investigating,. why didnt anyone ever investigate at the Arconia!? That is where Ben died! Wouldnt have it been logical to start where the death occurred and then work back. The Trio never focused on the time from the after party to Bens death at the Arconia. Shouldnt they have started there and then tried to trace the locations/actions of everyone who was at the party from the time they arrived until Ben was found dead? And it turns out Mabel actually fell for Tobert, and it wasnt that she was using her time with him as part of her investigation. Hopefully, next season they will get back to what makes this show great and its going to be more like Season 1 and have an actual murder, with a motive and the who, how, why and why now.

Season 1 was the best and the funniest. This season I loved the music and the mighty Meryl Streep. Season 2 was the best because I acted in it more than this season 🤩... Since season 1, Charles has been giving the vibes of his death. It would have been a big cliffhanger if Charles had died.

Another great review! 🙂 I enjoyed the theatre production and music/songs, the trio falling apart and coming back together again. Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd were fantastic in their roles. Imo, Donna is a psychopath, lol. She created a very inappropriate relationship with her son, too creepy for words, it's all on her though. Cliff didn't even want Ben in the show, so Donna is the problem, and she thinks poisoning Ben was a good idea, for her son to have a successful show or for herself not to be associated with a bomb? She didn't listen to Ben because she has no faith in him or respect he's an adult! Cliff ends up in a scuffle with Ben because of Donna and trying to save her, he should have let Ben call the police and have her taken away! Visiting his mother behind bars would've been his ticket out of this incestuous sickening relationship! 😂 I wonder who the writers were thinking of when they created these 2 characters. 🤔

I do not want any of the main three characters to be killed, that would break my heart. I liked the musical parts very much this season especially Meryl Streep and Steve Martin did an amazing show. Overall I enjoyed but a little less than the previous seasons. For the upcoming plot, I think one of the suspects is Matthew Broderick.

Can’t agree more about the lose ends but in my opinion this is more of a comedy than a mystery and we should go to each genre and consider its designed appropriate features and contents. For viewers genres help organize information so that they can more easily make sense of what they are about to see. From the tongue twist Pickwit Triplets to Cliff hanging at the end as a Cliffhanger 😂 this season was clearly a word game. Taking the fall and actually falling also word boy as a trigger for Cliff. Most importantly the lose ends and factually using the lose end specifically between ep 9 and 10. It is a modern style of playwriting specially comedies in 20th century french theatre such as Becket and Cocteau. Remember this is more of a comedy than mystery. Go to genres based on their particular features! This is the step one of review and analysis of a work of art. The use of Mise en Abîme (play within the play) emphasized on the comedy aspect.

Mabel's character wasn't much of anything and I think that was the plan. In season 1 it was mostly about Mabel. This season for sure with Oliver being the focus. On the podcast either a writer or director said they'd focus on Oliver. In season 2 we got more of Charles with Lucy his Father and the painting Rose made for Charles

I kind of hope it is not the letter J (for more intrigue!) Super excited for Season 4! I did feel this season the mystery was more fair play. Even if our main trio had little interest in solving till the end.

The killers and motive were so blah and just so obvious it was a let down for me, I enjoyed the musical numbers and I was so upset about Saz but such a waste of a great season in the theatre. I think Saz found out Jan wasn’t as guilty as they thought, maybe it will come back to bloody Mable, or the implied family links with Charles and the building from season 2

Season 1 is still my favorite... Well wasn't Theo in first season a minor at the time of the crime so I don't think it's comparable. I think this mommy son weirdo duo will get the book thrown at them... I sure hope Sazz gets a lot of flashback scenes in season 4..

The season 2 reveal was my favourite even though I guessed Poppy the twists and finger pointing and Charles stabbing really tricked me. Season 3 reveal was my least favourite so boring and a let down with all the potential, but the Saz murder made me gasp and sad excited for season 4. I doubt the show will go to LA. Meryl is too busy to make a cameo nor would that help the story. Maybe if season 4 will be the last one that to see them in LA might be ok but I hope there is a season 5 in the books.

Was Steve Martin's announcement of retiring from acting after Season 3 just a red herring, or do you think he'll just play a reduced roll in Season 4? Maybe once the killer realized they killed the wrong person, Charles will die too, or he'll go into some police protection and we won't see him but for a couple episodes.

Loved season 3 can nit wait for season 4

Donna didn't know enough about her son to think he's capable of murder. She wanted bast for her son but in the end got the worst. You can't possibly protect your son from the elements out there. All that hoping for a win on Broadway now he's labeled a murderer for life. If Donna never poisond Ben Cliff wouldn't have murdered Ben. Bad choice for a Producer. Bad story line for the show.

Absolutely DO NOT kill any of the three. Game of Thrones and Only Murders in the Building are very different shows. Not just the genre, but in every imaginable way. Toneally, it made sense to knock off big characters for GoT. That's not the tone for Only Murders .
