I have strict and toxic parents and I can’t tell you which one is worse (my mum or dad). They have changed me so much and now I’m scared that I’m becoming disobedient. It’s really annoying how I have so much depression and anxiety from their rules and everything they do, it’s like nothing will ever satisfy them because all a child wants is to make their parents proud. Unfortunately, it’s impossible. The worst things are when my parents make a huge drama and overreact about something so silly that I did wrong, or when ‘oh well maybe if you weren’t texting your only friend you could have studied for the exam better’ and ‘oh you barely studied’ oh and whenever I just feel depressed and cry in my room ‘omg Cinderella (because she’s miserable) stop being dramatic, what did we do? I also really hate when I complain about how much homework I have and then they start talking about how they had much more. This is the last example, so they’re always like, ‘why are you always on your phone or other device’. For what 30mins? It’s 2023 I’m not going to go play hopscotch. It’s really really annoying, and sometimes I think of what life could be with other parents and I realise that if they didn’t have these rules, my life would be very bad like, no bf, no going out after 9, must study for like 20 hours straight, no sleepovers really do make sense and I’m starting to understand and ignore the people that ask why all the time because all of these are now becoming huge issues. Every time my parent S treat me badly I just think: I’m going to be a way better parent, I do not want my child to go through what I had to. Because honestly, it’s the worst I’m not overreacting . I wish I could talk to somebody, but I’m a bit too young and I have social anxiety (I really can’t stand fake friends so I’m not putting up with somebody who doesn’t understand what I’m going through) I really love my parents but they’re at the same time evil and I wouldn’t say I want to leave them, but I really which they could be nicer… thank you for talking the time to read my comment (: it really means a lot
