8:20 bro that’s literally how my friends were at homecoming this year. first off, at the pep assembly we were all sitting together then right as it was starting they all snuck away and sat somewhere else, leaving me completely alone only to cry in the bathroom stall for an hour after it ended and skip my sports practice. i asked them if i could go to homecoming with them because they’re my only friends and they said “there’s no room” but then proceeded to invite 3 more people last minute because “a spot just opened up” so i found another group of freshman that i kinda knew and i went to hoco with them. little did i know that we were at THE SAME RESTAURANT as my other group and they had 1 more person than what they said the limit was AND 2 empty seats. at the actual dance i played it off and tried to dance with them but it seemed like they were trying to get away from me. i know i should just drop them but i don’t have anyone else. for the next 2 years we’re still gonna do sports together and i don’t wanna make anything weird. i still sit with them at lunch and have been extremely introverted all school year unlike my loud, happy, outgoing self i was last year. though, they’re still polite at lunch and stuff. what broke me though was my “best friend” didn’t even invite me to her fucking birthday party last week even though i still got her a gift. i have an extra taylor swift ticket that i was gonna give to her but instead, my parents are giving it to one of their friends from work so once again, i am alone. (taylor swift is the only thing that’s gotten me through all this)

I was in three back to back toxic friendship groups where none of them would include in anything or make sure that I was always kept in the dark and if I knew I would be the last to know (and the worst thing one of them did was arrange a meet up then tell everyone except me it was cancelled so I went and none of them showed up (and I proceeded to cry in a bathroom shop for three hours)) and looking at it now I’m actually bewildered by how I didn’t notice for four full years how toxic they were. Sometimes I could tell I was the obvious least favourite but it took me so long to leave them. it took me a while after the third to get friends again because people were ignoring me for all the fall outs I’d had, which did lead to depression and my anxiety worsening even more. When you look at me in class most people wouldn’t think I’d be friends with ‘the social rejects’ but it turns they are legit and aren’t toxic like the other three groups. Thankfully I have real friends now who actually care and include me so I am at an equal stance in the group with everyone else and I am actually appreciated 😊 👍🏻

“Quick” story time: I had a friend who started off as close and we had a ton in common and always got along. As we got older, they started to be a little meaner, bossier, and more judge mental with me. I brushed it off because they were my favorite person to hang out with. When we hit middle school, I realized how toxic they had become. I tried to distance myself at first, naturally cut it off, but it did nothing. So, in a state of anger, I wrote a (I’ll admit, nasty) note to them explaining everything they had done and put me through and why I didn’t want to be friends anymore. They took it silently, and I thought everything was settled until they told me their mom wanted to jump me over it. (Side note-I hadn’t told anyone about this, not even the things they had put me through, in fear of getting in trouble, so this comment struck up some anxiety in me). After that, they never let it go, and did a few things 1. Told almost all their friends (most of which I was mutual with) about it 2. ^took the things I wrote the wrong way and out of context 3. Started rumors such as “I told them to kill themself” that got around to my current best friend (who treated me much better) After some parent contact and a very gaslighting text, we’ve officially cut off all context and don’t speak anymore. I now have a better set of friends who respect me and are kind to everyone (including my autistic older sister!!!!) which I consider a win I just thought I’d share my story and vent a little lmbo

This video helped me realise my toxic friends.. so here’s a story time: me and this girl (we’ll just call her Vee) we have been friends for a year now but we always fight over text and she says some really rude things, my friend kept telling me she was talking about me behind my back in math and another one of my friends sits next to Vee in math too and she said they were talking on their white boards about me. Vee has been so rude and she said things like I’m a pick me and that I can be bossy. She tells me that I’m trying to be so perfect when I’m literally not. And she got jealous when I got a new pet cause she was getting a new pet soon. I’m now not talking to her but in previous fights she’d made my whole class hate me. If anyone has any advice it would really help. This will probs be lost in all the comments congrats to those who see this.

Toxic person story time: I’ve had beef with this girl (We’ll call her Bee) since second grade. We liked the same guy (we will call him Danny) and would literally fight over who got to sit by him, we fought over the new girl (we will call her Shay), books, you name it. She even manipulated Shay into being mean to me once. She luckily moved schools in like 3-4th grade. Then we met again in 9th grade. She and I were talking (we were both in stage crew together) and second grade got brought up. Bee literally showed me a picture of her and Danny holding hands in second grade and said, “I held hands with Danny! Ha! Beat that!” And so I said, “I’m still best friends with Shay! Ha, beat that!” That shut her up for a bit. Another toxic Bee thing- She always talked about her exes and drama in stage crew, and honestly nobody cared 😂. But the thing that made me really mad was when she was flirting with my crush, and him, being the oblivious 9th grade boy, was joking back.
