New headcannon: When Leo was little, he and his mom would sing while they worked in their shop. After she died, he never sang when anyone one was around, only when he was alone, and needed cheering up. One evening, Calypso gets him to sing at the campfire, and everyone is amazed at how good he is. His voice hits the notes perfectly, and they Apollo campers gap. Calpso just smiles and says, "I didn't know you could get any better."

I found this animatic because I love DEH and I loved this animatic but I was like, "Who's Caleo?" Then I realized it's a ship (hey, I'm a Broadway and books fan. I got too many ships to remember!) Then I realized it's from the series that my friends have been begging me to read for the longest time. So I didn't read the series because it's been 3 years of begging from them (although, that was part of the reason). I read it because I wanted to fully understand this animatic. AND OH MY ZEUS THIS IS PERFECT!

Love can be really cruel, but at least with this song and well made animatic I can find a real Calypso someday. WELL DONE!

I relate to Evan on a personal level. I never thought anyone would want me just for me and I found an amazing girl who does, and I really want it to be "Only Us" and let go of my entire past that's been without her. Dear Evan Hansen has reached my social anxieties and made a musical that I feel has touched me more than any other because of how much my story is similar to his. THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE CALEO! They're such an underrated ship especially since there's not much of them in the original HOO series but these two work so well together. Leo has grown up knowing he's not a typical hero and feeling pressured by Jason and Percy who fit the bill much better while Calypso has lived having her heart broken by typical heroes so many times. They both empathize with each other because of their loneliness and lack of love in their life while I feel they'd also be very resourceful together. Both of them are handy with tools and would probably share a few hobbies that way even if it isn't building. This ship deserves more love. Im so glad someone made an animatic for them! This song fits them perfectly! It addresses Leo's insecurities and Calypso's past. Just... THANK YOU for making this! I loved watching it!
