Ontario 6504 OKC3S USMC Multi-Purpose Bayonet, Dynaflex Handle, Brown Sheath. The Ontario Knives Marine Bayonet knife is the military issue bayonet designed to Marine Corps Military specifications for attachment to M16 rifles carried by the Marines in Iraq. The Ontario Marine Bayonet knife features an 8" clip point blade made of proprietary carbon steel with a Rockwell hardness of 53-58. The blade is .200 inches thick and 1 3/8" wide, with a 1 3/4" Mission Serration, sharpened top swedge, and non-reflective black phosphate coat. The brown Dynaflex rubber handle is ergonomically grooved to reduce hand fatigue, with a positioning access point for quick redirect of the blade position in reduced visibility situations. The handle has an oval indentation with USMC on one side, and the Marine Corps logo on the other. The low noise multi-carry scabbard is made of brown molded polyester elastomer, with a ceramic coated aluminum honing rod on the back. The bayonet is held securely inside the scabbard by a fitted internal stainless steel spring friction device. The scabbard is equipped with two load bearing attaching straps with cross straps, which allows for multiple carry options. The brown handle, sheath and webbing are compatible with the digital desert camo colors. Overall length: 13 1/4". Weight: 1.4 pounds.

Thanks, This particular color has been around since the model first started being made several years ago, so I doubt that they will be changing it soon.

Always loved the intimacy of knives, no psych. btw., just a lover of good steel, it's pretty big but I would so go well in my collection, not a huge fan of serration as they tend to give certain trouble in pulling out of targets on the bayonets, but good on regular knives, but over a lovely piece Ontario knows its trade,

I’m trying to find a video on how to use this bayonet. I haven’t served in the military nor have I ever been skilled in outdoor survival but would like to learn techniques on this knife other than snapping it on the end of my 590, which looks awesome BTW.

Are these knives still being produced? I was under the impression private equity firm bought up OKC and fired everyone and shut down production. Do you still have these bayonets and if so how much are they?

@@snowman4427 Currently production on all OKC models is suspended. The new owners are looking for manufacturers to resume production. It will probably be a while before this happens.

@@OsoGrandeKnives ya they’re looking for manufactures in China to resume production. Look into who bought them and what they do to businesses when they buy them. They fired all the employees pretty much immediately and I’m pretty sure they sold off all their equipment. They’ll prob make them in China and slap OKC on it until people smarten up

Is this full tang? How is the pommel attached? Is it removable?

The tang is full length but isn't full tang as that would require it to be as thick up and down as the grip. It does go all the way through though. Pommel is not impossible to remove but also not easy or designed to be removed.

I highly recommend this if you're looking for something that is going to last and keep you alive. Every combat knife and bayonet after this is kinda crap in my opinion. I've survived with my knife and many others simply can't hold a candle to this blade, love it.

It's an awesome bayonet but I prefer the 490 M9 because you can take the M9 apart and it has wire cutter and dedicated flathead and the sheath is super tough.

The M9 is a tent peg mate. Can’t sharpen it to a razor edge.

@@snow_tacknives2024 Australian mate. As you are seemingly unaware, the Australian army is issued the M9. I carried both the M7 and M9 in my time in the military and the steel is shit on the M9. Much prefer the M7. I ended up carrying a kabar and that sharpens easily and holds an edge better.

1095 is easy to sharpen and holds a nice edge. Shaving sharp 👌🏼

It can't. In fact no knives are capable of going through ribs. All the people killed with knives and swords are a myth, and they were all killed by little, tiny, nicks you get when you cut the skin, but stop once the blade hits hard muscle. I am an expert in wound life mantaining. All knives are only capable of small, harmless cuts. What really kills is when the victim tries to tak the knife out and ends up accidently letting gravity force the knife through a muscular gap in the oscolur metacarpsatin layer.
