Today's vlog: This place is just so beautiful! And when the wind comes it will be a paradise for kitesurfing. So today we are checking out where to go kiting exactly and we try to anchor as close to that sandbank as possible. It get's quite tricky with only 10cm of water under the keel.
On the 17th of April 2020 we left marina Port Ghalib in Egypt, heading south towards Sudan and Djibouti and finally Maldives. We will take it easy, enjoy the beautiful reefs of the red sea and keep an eye on the corona regulations of the ports we pass. Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :)
This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. We got the sailing- skills on our friends yacht 'Shalom' when we joined them on a trip from the Netherlands to Spain. / @sailingshalom . In Spain we decided to go with our own boat, and in no time we were the happy owners of 'Messenger'. We left may 2018 and started vlogging from the beginning, we made 15 minute video's of our adventures, the nature and the many special people we met. We cooperated with OM to visit their projects and film them on our way. Since 19 of March we started with a daily vlog due to the corona situation. We plan to keep doing this the coming months.

Haha yes, the water is so clear. When you jump in it feels like you jump in only half a meter of water because the bottom looks so close 😁

Jullie zijn echt geweldig En wat is het mooi daar (hermen wil je niet ruilen met me hahaha) maar jullie hebben het goed voor elkaar daar Mooi om te zien hoe jullie van alles verzinnen ook zoals nu marjolein in het water en hermen varen Hier hou ik van Stay save Henry en Cora

It's SO incredible to see an area of the world like the Red Sea look like a tropical paradise. I've only ever known boats to hurry through so it's great to see it on your videos. Looking forward to seeing some kite surfing. 🌴😎⛵

Yea it is really beautiful, don't know why most boats rush trough it. Maybe because they do an around the world trip and have to be past a certain area at a certain time? But then still, you could spend an entire year here :)

It's only about 40 to 50 cm. It's new moon today so it's around 50 cm difference. 21cm with low tide and 68 cm with high tide 😊 nothing compared to Netherlands, England and France 😁

Haha yes, but we waited for a windless period :) so it was quite easy, hermen could go very slow and just float at the same spot when needed 😁

Spannend en creatief! Is er nu wel genoeg ruimte om te bewegen voor het schip als er meer wind komt?

Ja als het goed is wel. We hebben een cirkel van zo'n 120 meter ofzo. Evt zouden we nog een hekanker kunnen gooien als dat nodig is.

wow that is like dream i sure you will write memorise book that : the red sea is most beautiful sea you saw it . can i ask you about keel :is there Automatic keel if you not need it then close it ? if need it open and download it? what about your boat how much cost it if i buy on like it ?what is his name and model of it ?can you give us brife about it ?do you comfortable with this model? if you can take another new on what model you prefer ? iam glad whenever you upload new veideo ?

Hey! Thanks for your response. I did not understand everything. What do you say in the first sentence? There are boats with a keel that you can take up or let down yes, but we don't have that.
