I'm pleased to show you the Opel Monza Gilden Kölsch Works Car ex-official Herbert Herler/Jörg Döring/Ralf Stommelen seen for the first time in action after a long restoration at the Mugello circuit in Italy. I have to thank Stephan & Matthias Jocher of the Jocher Racing Team for being very kind to me allowing to install an action camera in the cockpit. They also gave me a lot of information about the car and thanks to that I can write you something about the vehicle's history. This is the only Gilden Kölsch ex-official Racing Team with lightened bodywork who won the European championship in 1980. In the 1981 season, the Monza got second place at the 24h of the Nurburgring, while at the same race in 1982, after a break, it was sold on the placed to a Sicilian team. The car then raced until the 1986 season, remaining in Italy, and then all traces were lost. Then, five years ago, Mr Stephan Jocher found it in Rome and bought it. After a careful restoration that brought it to the splendid current conditions, the car is ready to race again in the European championships dedicated to touring cars. The historic cars Peroni Race Weekend was the first official test to verify its correct functioning. Mechanically it mounts the 3.0-Liter inline 6-cylinder Opel engine currently developing 290hp and moved by a 5-speed manual gearbox. The weight is very low at around 1,000 kg. Enjoy! 😉
Ho il grande piacere di mostrarvi la Opel Monza Gilden Kölsch Works Car ex Herbert Herler/Jörg Döring/Ralf Stommelen vista per la prima volta in azione dopo un lungo restauro sul circuito del Mugello, in Italia. Devo ringraziare Stephan & Matthias Jocher del Jocher Racing Team per essere stati molto gentili nei miei confronti ed avermi permesso di istallare una action cam nell'abitacolo. Mi hanno inoltre fornito molte informazioni dell'auto e grazie a questo posso scrivervi qualcosa sulla storia dell'auto. Si tratta dell'unica Gilden Kölsch ex ufficiale del Racing Team con carrozzeria alleggerita che ha vinto il campionato Europeo nel 1980. Nella stagione 1981 ha ottenuto il secondo posto alla 24h del Nurburgring mentre alla stessa gare del 1982, dopo una rottura è stata venduta sul posto ad un team Siciliano. L'auto ha quindi corso fino alla stagione 1986 restando in Italia e poi si sono perse le tracce. Cinque anni addietro Mr Stephan Jocher l'ha trovata a Roma e l'ha acquistata eseguendo un'accurato restauro che l'ha portata alle splendide condizioni attuali. L'auto è pronta per correre nuovamente nei campionati europei dedicati alle vetture turismo e la gara per auto storiche svoltasi durante il Peroni Race Weekend è stata la prima prova ufficiale per verificarne il corretto funzionamento. Meccanicamente monta il motore Opel a 6 cilindri in linea di 3.0-Litri attualmente capace di sviluppare 290hp mosso da un cambio manuale a 5 rapporti. Il peso è molto contenuto aggirandosi intorno ai 1.000 Kg. Buona visione! 😉

Buongiorno. Amo le vecchie auto Opel 👍👍🤜🤛🤜🤛 Ho avuto una Opel Vectra cm³ 1.400 GPL prima serie, auto che non consumava niente ed era un mulo indistruttibile. Buona giornata serena

@@ernestocorso4316 Si, hai ragione, la penso come te. Ma sono realmente fotocopie. Stessi motori, stessi pianali, stessi cambi, stessi interruttori, spesso indistinguibili anche come linea.

@@Italiansupercarvideo Buonasera. Lei ha perfettamente ragione al 100%. Secondo me la tempesta perfetta è già in arrivo. Se ho capito bene oltre al boom dell'energia dove nafta e benzina potrebbero arrivare a 3€ al litro qualcuno dice anche 4€ al litro. Anche il ferro, rame, litio, terre rare pare che hanno già subito un boom dei prezzi e potrebbero salire ancora. Quindi una Dacia Sandero oggi da 10.800€ a breve potrebbe essere impossibile produrla a quel prezzo. La soluzione è l'auto in canapa industriale di Henry Ford, le allego il link del video, se non lo conosce. Auto prodotta interamente in canapa industriale, interni ed esterni, gomme comprese, più economica ed ecologica delle auto attuali, e più resistente agli urti. Secondo me lauto va completamente ripensata da zero, oggi costa troppo comprarla, e mantenerla, l'auto elettrica è impossibile da comprare. Meglio ripensare l'auto endotermica più economica, più ecologica, meglio tante endotermiche economiche nuove. Inoltre i carburanti sintetici dal carbone, da rifiuti umido, fogne, da plastica, più puliti di benzina e nafta. Oggi vedo una politica di ODIO verso le automobili, ma noi per anni siamo stati trattati da bancomat, con passaggi di proprietà e tasse di possesso assurde, addirittura i posti a pagamento auto ovunque... Penso sia arrivato il momento di dire basta a una campagna di ODIO contro noi automobilisti. @@ernestocorso4316 Buona sera Ernesto, non posso che essere d'accordo con lei. La ringrazio del filmato, non sapevo dell'esistenza di quest'auto. Ovviamente non se ne fece niente, avrebbe ucciso troppi interessi economici in svariati settori industriali... Penso spesso che le auto abbiano preso una brutta strada a livello economico. A parte i prezzi di acquisto esagerati, il mantenimento sta diventando troppo elevato. Una ventina di anni addietro le auto erano molto più economiche da gestire pur avendo motori con rendimenti peggiori. Il cambio delle gomme, i tagliandi, l'aumento di potenza, le magagne elettroniche, tutte cose che hanno un'influenza enormemente sui costi. Adesso è facile trovarsi una Dacia con pneumatici da 17" su motori 1.0 a 3 cilindri... Tengo volutamente fuori il discorso dell'elettrico perchè sarà un massacro per gli automobilistici. Ma lo capiranno, troppo tardi.

Grazie Alberto, rapportata ad una Kadett è considerevolmente più grande. Sono rimasto davvero contento di averla filmata perchè in generale, la Monza è una rarità. Oltretutto questa è l'unica ufficiale rimasta, quella vincitrice del campionato europeo turismo nel 1980. Un bel pezzetto di storia insomma 😉

Very uncommon to see this on the track, let alone on the roads. Glad that someone has this and it's great car! Albeit, that CIH inline 6 is no BMW inline 6 in terms of tunability and power, that's for sure.

Thanks for all this information; you were very kind to reply by adding these things. I wanted to thank you for the email you sent me; really full of information about the car's history. I was meant to answer you, but I do it here, now. I had also received a lot of information from Mr Jocher, most of these were in German, but with a bit of patience, I was able to reconstruct the history of this car.
