When I lived in Germany I fired up my old nova with open headers. My command sergeant major was there and he told me "To never fire that thing up with open headers again" He even walked over and helped me and my good friend push it up into the motor pool. LOL. Good times.

No one ever called the cops because back in the eighty's every one was cool lol

One of the many reasons I prefer to be either on a large property completely fenced in or by myself in the country. I grew up in a wealthy suburban neighborhood and I can remember all kinds of backstabbing and catty behavior. SOOO annoying. I can't imagine the pain and suffering the people go through that live in HoA's either.

My old ‘72 C10 has a 454 with Hooker Super Comp long tube headers, Dr Gas 3” X-pipe, 2-chamber Delta Flows and then straight out the back. My neighbor was an extremely unfriendly older guy and we had words over our dogs always at each other through the fence, in which he told me he had lived there for 28 years and wasn’t going anywhere. I was always tuning and tinkering with my truck and he would come outside and stare (mean mug) at me. One day I decided to uncap the headers for fun and when I fired it up it sounded like a drag car and every neighbor up and down the street came outside to see what all the noise was including MR Crabapple which just stood and stared. The next day a realtor pulled up and got out and staked a for sale sign in the yard! I stood there a laughed remembering his words “I’ve been here 28 years and ain’t going nowhere”.... 😂😂😂. FWIW a younger couple bought the house and told me they absolutely loved the sound of my truck and wished theirs sounded as good....

If you're gonna keep it like that, I'd put an 18" collector off of each header for scavenging purposes and if you run a wideband... also bet it makes more power loosing the straight merge from bank 1 side. You may need to add a little fuel or touch up the tune now! Nice car sounds good

Ask them to give you a hand (even if you don't need it) or invite them to one of your races. I'm 53 now. If a neighbor asked me for help, I'd help. If a neighbor invited me to an event they were participating in I'd move the earth to be there. I was younger once. I restored a 65 Mustang in my garage so I know about the noise complaints. I invited the one neighbor for a ride in the car to a car show, bought him burgers and introduced him to everyone I knew. He was king for the day! Never heard a complaint after that. In fact, he came over evertime I rolled up the garage door. Not saying there are no bad neigbors. There are. May just need to get creative on when you run the car.
