Amen! Glad I survived the last three years. I haven't seen a movie in so long, and an IMAX movie about the first atomic bomb is exactly up my alley. History, Politics, Something actually talking in some way about the crisis we face, no matter the spin, Christopher Nolan, and One of The Biggest Explosions Ever. What's not to love?!

Big time. My two favorite filmmakers right now and I think this is the third time they’ve had movies the same year (2017 with Dunkirk and Blade Runner 2049, 2010 with Inception and Incendies).

@@carlosalejandroalvarenga4913 maybe but why is it that they released it in regular widescreen version (2.39:1) on blu-ray and 4K? Home media is where it lives forever; even for those like me who may want to give it a try once the price starts lowering. They could have made it in a more open matte format giving more video at top and bottom but nope, ruined its range by keeping it almost hidden in that thick widescreen format. This is where i lost all hope for it -- its makers cared not enough to have it preserved in a better aspect ratio! Then again director is Canadian French, so maybe he was tad too high on maple syrup soaked butter croissant or something when they decided to release it in regular widescreen version instead of what Nolan does for his IMAX films' home media releases, who knows.

My father witnessed the best era of Scorsese, Spielberg, the Scott brothers, Zemeckis, Coppola, and other legends. We don't have as many directors today in the best moment, but the few talents we have today who make the difference between one year with their films and one year without it, are really really amazing and I'm incredibly excited to witness the genius of their minds on IMAX screens. Nolan and Villeneuve thank you for your ambition, risk-taking, love for cinema and for all the stuning work who requires this kind of films. Every time they create a film, it's not just a movie. I'm aware that there are more amazing talents today producing beautiful projects, but these two make the biggest difference to me right now.

Not many films turn out to be as good as the trailer suggests. I’m glad to say this film was just as good as this trailer makes it out to be. Such a gripping story with fantastic cinematography and great acting. The score is perfect and the editing is top notch. Definitely worth the wait 🔥

Thing with Nolan.. those films are good on the outside. (Great visual and sound experience) , but terrible on the inside ( poor dialogue and convoluted script) . Acting was obviously great for what it was. Its same with Batman movies. at first you are amazed but then you rewatch is few times and are like... " what the hell is this dialogue and absurd plot"

As an Indian, I hate this movie. The greatest evil that the US has done in the history of mankind. After the bomb, they formed NPT to make sure their citizens alone will not suffer. Now they are releasing a film to justify and bring out the humane side of this decision. No America , you were wrong.

@@vinothr2354 Oppenheimer had a tragic end to his life and he himself couldn't live with the fact that he destroyed humanity. The movie brings forward much forgotten facts and is not a celebration of what Allied forces had to do to bring the war to an end. What an irony, Now US is Japan's biggest ally after all of this. Japan moved on and we didn't seem to yet.

@@mjb5384 Nolan doesn’t use IMAX digital 1:90:1 cameras. He’s uses IMAX film 1:43:1 cameras.

@@mjb5384 He always does. But he isn't showing it off for a trailer. He wants the big images to jump at you when screening the film. He did the same with his previous films. Unless you went to a 1.43:1 IMAX film projection.

I for one was perfectly satisfied with the 1993 portrayal of this story as told in “Day One” with David Strathairn, Brian Dennehy, et al. Not quite sure of the need of a retelling. Please explain the reason behind this film; I’m quite sincere and also an admirer of J. Robert. Oppenheimer and of The Manhattan Project.

i wanna see this soooo badly. i literally love nolans movies so much…ive never seen one in theaters actually so this is pretty exciting. but as you all know, its r rated, im a minor, and in my country they dont let kids in even when they have a parent over :( im super fucking sad because i was SO excited for this movie!!! 1.90:1 played on all cinema projector and digital imax, so this movie 1.90:1 can be seen in standard cinema bc i wasted double money and drive a long way for imax theater

The aspect ratio of every DCP for this film outside IMAX, as far as I can tell, is actually still 2.20:1. Forgive me for being a tad blunt, but I don’t know where you’re getting your information from.
