God: ..... If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other? == >> .............. simple but very powerful impact ...... T_T

I prayed for four months straight to be given patience and a better discernment in my heart after quitting drinking and starting my steps to quit smoking cigarettes and weed, then I saw this video clip (not this specific one, but this scene) and basically had a panic attack on the spot. Well, now going on three years has passed. I'm completely sober of all of it, clinically diagnosed and medicated in my mental health side of things and regularly seeing a doctor for my physical health where before I constantly ignored my mental and physical health. I earnestly can say that I have such a better understanding of what this scene means, and am admittedly so getting my patience tested ever more each day since. The discernment is up in the air though honestly, it's difficult for me to tell still, but my mind is definitely more clear as it's been letting me see things I would've just habitually ignored before my sobriety and medications, so that helps. In the end though hahaha, you gotta watch it sometimes what you pray for, cause how you receive it will be a grounds for insuring you are remaining open minded and open in perception as well.

Morgan played it so well that no other person can match him playing god

I knew a man like this. He was the doorman at a movie theater in Redlands, California, he'd worked there for decades. Elderly black gentleman, kind to everyone, greeted everyone with a smile like he knew you already, held the door for you, awesome storyteller, too. And yes, his name was Al.

Love the nametag on his shirt "Al Mighty" Great scene. Only one actor can play this role in this movie: Morgan Freeman.

Basically what God is saying is that nothing is given for free, even if you truly deserved it. You got the power to do it and that’s the greatest strength that each and every one of us have is to be patient, courageous and the opportunity to love one another.

Every now and then writers just really get it together. This is one of those rare times and one of my favorite scenes in movies. I am curious though how much of this was from Morgan Freeman because I have heard him speak on many occasions and this just simply seems like it was from him and not the writers.

1:28 What he told Joan Evan's wife is what I call absolutely true if you believe in THE FATHER and love him, and cherish him in your heart he will answer your prayers, If you prayed to have your family to be closer to each other again & be A family again than A man she never met, Or seen before. Or never knew have A talk & he told her: "If someone payed for their family to be closer to each other does he zap them with fuzzy feelings, Or does he give them to opportunity to love each other again" That's why Joan was confused because that was the exact thing she prayed for.

I myself am an atheist, but I believe in the good in people and of humanity. I love movies like this because they promote love and patience and kindness....all of which the world is sorely missing on the whole.

The answer to all our questions are within. We don't need to lament for intervention or assistance. Life is the indisputable champion over adversity, that proof is all around us. We are life, and we have faced the greatest naturally occurring, as well as man-made threats, and have survived.

For those who did not watch the movie, earlier in the movie she prayed to God for their family to be closer. Which is why she reacted that way to that line. This movie did have a lot of quotable lines.
