I came home from school each day as a teen in Nairobi, feeling drained, distraught, distressed and wanting to not live another day. I sat in front of the t.v. at 5:30pm to watch Oprah and by the end of every show, I was rejuvenated; I did my homework, I pressed my uniform, I ate my dinner, I went to bed with hope and I survived another day of being bullied, feeling misunderstood and unheard. My Mum was in Zambia, my home country so I could only call her once in a while, I lived with my Dad. Oprah was the mother's daily voice in my mother's absence. Telling me to go on. And so I did.

Oprah has been an inspiration to so many...many lives have been saved and have changed for the better. She continues to do what she loves most...talking (interviewing), producing significant films, providing free education, uplifting people's lives, supporting many humanitarian causes worldwide, inspiring human beings all over the world to be kind, generous and be blessings to others as well. She's really a powerhouse, a woman of substance.

People criticize Oprah all the time. But I appeciate the things she has done while on television, Oprah is a very blessed woman for sure. What I dont understand why she made white folk famous or more rich when they did not even need it. Black people her own race needed her help moreso. For example, what about setting up some places to help better your own people and black children. Yes, I know Oprah built the school for black girls in Africa. That is a wonderful thing to do. We applaud her for that. Yet, what has she done on a hugh platform in Chicago where she got famous. She has enough money to help build something for black people in the U.S. despite her other contributions I am sure she makes and has made. BUT DO SOMETHING FOR HER OWN BLACK PEOPLE LIKE SHE DID FOR DR. PHIL AND OTHER WHITE PEOPLE! HELP YOUR OWN IN A LARGER NUMBER.

Oprah commented that the store in Chicago said they did not let her in because they had been robbed by two black people two days before. And they said this is why they did not let her in. I DO NOT THINK THAT IS TRUE...They may have been robbed, but they KNEW that was OPRAH! And they knew she would not rob them, being a billionnaire. Come on?! They knew and Oprah knew that they did not want her in their store. PERIOD! BEING A BLACK WOMAN THEY DID NOT WANT BLACK FOLK NO MATTER HOW RICH IN THEIR STORE! Oprah knows this!

@baby boo The store that refused to sell the bag was in Rome, the bag wasn't for Oprah, it was for Gayle's daughter Kirby. Around minute 18 she's talking about a separate incident that happened in the 90s. A few minutes later she talks about the Zurich store where Oprah wanted to buy a particular bag for herself. You may think it's lies or made up but if you're not black or brown then it may be hard for you to understand how often people of color deal with racism or prejudice.

She did everything right building her studios, which were vastly superior to what the networks had. She hired to top engineering talent, mostly White guys. Every aspect of her work on air has been first class. She is a force for good, has long been one of my heroes. And I am convinced that without her, Obama would not have been President, at least not in 2008-16.

A WOW moment for me was when the people were suffering horribly in the aftermath of Katrina and the government was not helping, but all of a sudden on the news, there are truckload after truckload of supplies being driven into New Orleans, sent by OPRAH. WOW. God bless Oprah. 💖🙏

I saw the Butler. The movie was GREEAAAATTTTT !!!!!!!! I didn't think Oprah could reach that level of acting because she is not usually an actor. She hit a home run again. But, then again we're talking about Oprah.

When she was trying to put OWN together that was probably one of the most stressful times in her life in addition to the trial. I can't wait till she actually does a movie where she plays herself.

Ms. Oprah, if I were to find your journal, I would return it to you and ask if we could just have lunch and talk for one hour of your time. I would not tell you where I live because it's a place that you might not like. Enough said. Love you Oprah and Mr. Larry King too.
