Just stopping in to sya just got the platinum and I want to encourage everyone to keep trying I failed on the last legendary challenges for 3 days but stay strong and carry on!

The missile attack from the dragon hit me when he was already stopped and I died to this but I had it after the third try. Can't thank you enough for this guides. I linked "Time" with "Magic Focus" to get more pressure time and I casted "Stop" again after they where staggered to make this even more noob friendly for me

Thanks for the guide! I did not have gotterdammung, so I switched it with safety bit which gives me immune to petri. Then I also got two additional materia slots. I used plasma discharge and rancid breath on every fight, to get some lucky silence/bio/slow/stop Also sonic boom for the buffs. I have done every one except cait sith. I found Tifa the hardest.

The last two ones with sephiroth and zack are such a pain, both take almost an hour to complete and if you die you start all over, just last time i literally died to odin (the last fight) when he was at 1% hp, so frustrating. I'm hoping that you will come up with an easy guide to make these two challenges faster and safer. These fights are way too overtuned, they could have given us at least a checkpoint on these 10 rounds fights, they just take way too long.

Since you already have enemy skill equiped both sonic boom to get bravery and plasma discharge for the free damage is really good in this challenge.

I’ve been doing these without the Gotterdammerung since I don’t have it, I just put on enhanced expeditionary medal instead. I beat Clouds and Barrets thanks to your guide and this one.

Jabberwook never actually used gorgon shield when I cleared this. Ended up staggering it normally, had to cast stop because it was still close to full health.

Thanks for the guide, just did it :D I have a word of advice if someone is struggling with Kid G. When he is pressured use as many chi traps on him as you can. It was a game chnger for me.

5 more of these to go then I have them all done and hard mode is waiting. Not far from a 100% playthough not just the platinum and these guides have helped. I did almost everything blind but needed help on that damn summon one then decided to do these thru you since they were done so well just to get them over with. Great job. I just want my last star on One Winged Angel for the piano.

Got this one after about 5 tries. Hardest round is round 3 with Kid G. Had to get used to blocking his moves at the right time and also right time to hit him back and build stagger bar that way. Once he is staggered, then go to town! Thanks again for this awesome guide! Now on to Aerith's Legendary Bout videos and go from there. I'm hearing that the Bonds of Friendship Legendary Bout is the 2nd toughest of all the VR Combat Challenges. Hope I can get that one done too soon with the help from your videos.

Took 2 hours before I finally got past Kid G. I made sure to not have to again. Your tips on Jabberwock were spot on. I pressured him easily and never let him get up again.

Managed to get the first 4 done and dusted last night. I think you'll have fun with Aerith's. Was interesting to see what we did similarly and differently for builds for this one with Tifa. I'm probably going to start the hard mode playthrough and then come back to the last 5 legendary challenges when you have the guides up for those.

I was struggling with getting petrified in rounds 4 & 5 but I put a cleansing Materia in the spare slot to cast resist to prevent it from happening! hope this helps some people who are struggling like I was

Followed the Guide. When Jabberwock starts using Raze and Seasonic Wave u can avoid this when u lure him in the end of the Area. Keep in mind, Dodging, Endurance and Concentration is the Key. As a Backup Poenix Materia and for the empty Slot Auto-Weapon Ability Materia for a bit more Strengh and Attack Power.

At first I struggled with Kid G's "pressure" dynamics but found out the key is dodging away when he has a listed text attack with a red underline and then come back with the attack button almost immediately after. Also I learned a lot about Tifa's overall potential by the Rage and Fall 'release before the uppercut' timing. It was wonky at first for me, but now I have it down pretty good. Tifa's such a strong character in battle... one of my favorites. Thanks for the guide, Optinoob! You rock sir! 👍

Wait you can also stop while Pressured?! I always learn something new from everyone of your videos! You should make a video about all of these little tricks , they are so use full! In a other video you mentioned auto unique ability materia on aerith which makes go automaticaly on her arcane ward before casting spell which is so HUGE because the enemy will not target her. You are so nice to do that for people to make them feel like their comment was read and appreciated and I wish more KZfaqrs would do this...

This was the easiest of the legendary battles, for me. And I struggle with timing A LOT. But Tifa. Is. A. Beast. Load her up with strength enhancing materia, and she FLIES through. I kept the full throttle wrist guards on her for added strength (her attack was something like 530?) And just kept with the Unfettered Fury and True Strikes, with a Chi Trap here and there. Took me 3 tries.

Another excellent video! I wanted to share a little from my experience. Overall: I leveraged Plasma Discharge and Sonic Boom. Dark Claw: I did a lot of: basic attack combo, then dodge twice to the right. This helped avoid a lot of the basic claw attacks. The reaper attack is easy to side dodge. Kid G: Really hated this guy until now. The key for me was his main two attacks and the indicators. If he’s not pressured, kite him around. He’ll likely do one of two things. 1 - he keeps chasing you. This means two blockable punches and then goblin beat down. Dodge backwards away from beat down, I found side dodging more difficult than just dodging back away. 2 - he will momentarily chase you but then hop back for Sledgehammer. Dodge away from sledgehammer in any direction, wait a brief moment when he lands for the AoE to clear. Then basic attack for pressure.

Wanna say thanks this and Barrett video helped me beat them with ease (I’m dreading cait thou)

Bah, my warding materia wasn't at 100% - had to swap it out for Cleansing to cast Resist. Always setup Plasma Discharge for the extra damage. It was a close call with that damn Jabberwock.

Another one you've helped me through thanks. I really struggled with Kid G for a bit. Then when i finally got past him the next enemy grabbed me and pummeled the life out of me 😢, got it done a few tries after though. Thanks!

Died to Kid G a few times until I realised what I did wrong - I didn't block then evade! As soon as I started moving away I won first try. A weird thing happened on Jabberwock - I staggered it before it did Gorgon Shield. It made the fight far more tricky 😂

I used stop while it was staggered so that I could get the True Strikes in and then I used the Limit break for the win.

Hey Optinoob. Thanks for another great guide, got it on the 3rd try. I am never as good as dishing out the damage so had to stagger on 5/5 twice! I feel round 4 and 5 are really easy if you just sitck n move especially with topping up with Chakra. Kid G is the real nemesis here.

For that empty materia slot, you can put in Auto-Weapon Ability for the 2% Strength boost. Because you're (obviously) controlling Tifa, it won't activate any abilities automatically. You're just using it for the small stat boost.

I put Magic Focus with the Time Materia. Haven't watched past the setup yet but I'm hoping that'll help a bit.

Got it easily using this guide, somehow i just slide all around whenever i use tifa, must be panic but it works really well on the last round, if you suck at blocking, just slide away and you can avoid almost everything. Also i used an ATB boost materia on the empty slots and that helped me w Chakra on tough times. Thanks for the guide!

What I don’t get about these legendary challenges is why are manuscripts the reward? What’s the point of that? So you beat them finally unlock the top weapon tier and there’s nothing left to do? Should have manuscripts be story only.

I did was chi trap his body and just work around him, keep the chi trap, I used stop when he was staggered. Thanks you man really helpful for the build.

YAY another gimmicky enemy kid G whoop whoop. At least he's only locked behind weak enemies. I love that my attack went from 507 to 545 from that manuscript. Feels great! On to the next one I'm dreading these but at least these ones are 5 rounds and are not full of crazy summons I'm sure those come later! My weakest weapon has over 400 attack. Arguably the one that requires the most finesse. Took me a few tried to decode kid G clean and accurate. The Jabberwok drug out cause I didn't block just kept dodging then working his stagger bar up. Maybe that's why he never used gorgon shield until after first stagger. Nonetheless I had to really drag the fight out reuse unfettered fury keep dodging built up a whole second limit and finished him on second stagger. Had to wait for that gorgon shield to wear off too. That fight alone probably lasted 5 minutes.

I hate this Jabberwock, but playing more defensive and some Stops while it was staggered did it for me in the second try.

Great vid, for golem best to use unbridled strength imo though. Keeps attack stat high (unfettered switches to magical attack stat if I understand correctly) and parry on the last one the jabberwok or whatever and the stagger bar builds crazy fast. Staggered him before he could even use gorgon shield or get pressured lol and even hit him with stop while staggered to spam true strike and got the trophy for 300% stagger bonus. 2 birds with 1 stone on the road to play

I'm curious Opti, would you say these are harder or easier than the Brutal fights? I know the last two are really tricky in general but what about the solos? Looking forward to the rest as well, Tifa is crazy powerful. She's one of my favourites to play as! Next up is Aerith, let's get it! Also, are you gonna do a hard mode guide as well after finishing Chadley's fights? Would love to see what you come up with and use your guides for that when I attempt hard mode later in the year.

OMG KidG again noooooo! NGL I died at least 30x. I suck at blocking / dodging - but the silver lining is this forced me to finally address this weakness. I’m still not great but after this challenge I can parry 80-90 percent of Dark Claw attacks and by the end dodging / attacking is now comfortable. I beat KidG doing exactly what you outlined it just took time to get decent at dodge / pressuring but once you get it the tables turn so sweetly! I realize I’ll probably need it for those last 2 challenges so glad I’m not a total n00b at it lol. Will echo those who said to use Sonic Boom for adding Bravery / Faith and I also added Haste to get more turns when I could. I also subbed in Healing / Swiftcast instead of Chakra & HP absorption to Enemy Skills. Both were lifesavers. To show how crazy KidG was - only needed 1x to wipe the 4th/5th boss after finally beating KidG! The last fight it also helps to try and get behind him like with Cloud 3rd & 5th. Couldn’t have done it without your guides. On to Aerith tonight / tomorrow!

This challenge was super fun, Tifa is poetry in motion and wish I found out about her Fury combo a lot sooner! As a Chakra hater I switched to HP Absoprtion + Plasma Discharge but I wonder if the discharges actually slow you down because I has not able to kill Jabberwock within the stagger despite using the same combos. Anywho onto the next one thanks for your assistance once again.

Woo-hoo beat it first go with your advice! It was touch and go for a bit since I forgot you have to be close for Tifa's limit to hit so I missed when Jabberwock cast Gorgon Shield and then had to dance around forever until my limit built up again...on his THIRD cast of Gorgon Shield. >.> Ten minutes 20 seconds but hey done first try so yeah!

The feel of this one was really tense at least the last one. I'll give some of these bouts this (still f' you squeenix) that it teaches you the nuances of the actions. Even I didn't realize Tifa's combo just basically gives her full atb in like a split 2nd. That and I had no idea how the Petrify works. So Warding + Petrify may not be good. I was hit with the effect and it just ended the fight with the Jabberwock.. Granted probably because I got hit with the Pulverize effect which is an instakill but I don't think I've ever seen it on a player character

I thought this challenge was gonna be easy compared to the other ones. Boy i sure was wrong. First Kid-g was always killing me cause i forgot everytime he attacks we were supposed to attack him to pressure him. Then i finally got to the last fight and i died, i figured he uses flame attacks why not elemental with fire and it didnt heal me lol. I felt stupid but he almost killed me but i managed to beat his ass. Now on towards the hardest challenges ever.
