Orange Blossom Cannonball: Steam Along Lake Dora

For almost six years, the Orange Blossom Cannonball ran steam-powered excursions through sunny Central Florida. Operated by the Tavares Eustis & Gulf, a subsidiary of the Reader Railroad, these excursions took passengers from the town of Mt Dora to Tavares, running along the coast of Lake Dora and through Florida's swampy forests. These trips were powered by TE&G #2, the only wood-burning locomotive in regular service in the United States. Reader's rolling stock, including #2, has appeared in numerous films including True Grit, O Brother Where Art Thou?, There Will Be Blood, and 3:10 to Yuma, earning them the nickname "The Movie Train."
The Cannonball ceased operations in January 2017 after an agreement could not be made regarding the TE&G's lease of the Florida Central's tracks.

An official with the steam locomotive a few years ago,told me that the caboose is a very rare Drovers Caboose that either(I forget which) the Cotton Belt Railroad or Missouri Pacific Railroad used back in the day on Cattle Trains because every 50-miles or so,they had to stop the train and cattlemen had to let the cattle off the train so they could be fed and watered.

No, the Cannonball closed in 2017 and all the equipment was sent to storage in Arkansas. The Royal Palm Railway Experience replaced them on the line but they aren't currently operating.

The no. 2 and the coaches were shipped home to the Reader Railroad in Arkansas. As far as I know they're still in storage there.

Why is there a diesel behide it now? I live in the area and sometimes visit it but never seen them doing that before.

They were moving to diesel to be stored on the wye in Tavares. I imagine that since the run-around track in Mt Dora is out of service this was the only way to get it out of the way.
