If you do another video please go further into controlling the device from outside your home because for some reason I can ping my hub but it will not control the hyve. This is more a orbit question as they made the product.

You need to make sure you have at least one Wi-Fi hub amzn.to/3M7wfZE, and all your faucets are connected to one of those wi-fi hubs, if you don't have a wifi hub then you can only control faucets close-by, by using the build-in bluetooth function on those timers to pair your phone.

@@TheGizmoGarage yup I do have the hub. It seems there is a bug with the device, I spoke with one of the tech support and he affirmed what I thought that sometimes the delay between the hub cause some issues and require you to clear the memory a few times before it takes. Hopefully one of the firmware they roll out will resolve that bug.

Don't hold your breath for any corrections from Orbit. I've been waiting 3 years for the firmware changes their CS rep promised over the phone. I've never been able to get any of my B-Hyve timers to stay connected to the WiFi hub. I have never been able to see any of them from the Orbit B-Hyve website at all. I am only able to run them from my phone and even so, I have to factory reset each timer, and shut down and restart my phone every time I need to change a watering schedule. I was really jazzed about these when I first bought them, and they DO reliably water the lawn, but I dred, and therefore neglect revising their programs when I should to account for the weather. Every time I need to alter the watering schedule, I send my wife to her mother's so she doesn't have to endure the poetic flights of profanity these things inspire.

@@christopherdahle9985 the fix which I did on my channel is to set up using an iphone. If you use an android device it will fail on the setup of the wifi paring. I was able to get it up and showed a few how to make it stay pair. It seems that the android app had a bug which the iphone and ipad does not. Once you do the entire pairing process from start to finish on an iphone it will work going forward on your android. Just remember tou have to do a full reset on all devices and do the initial setup on an iphone all the way through. Pair the hub first, then the controllers. The good thing about the iphone version is that you have grouping options which you will not see on the android... very odd.

Right out of the box, they were as easy to set up as this video shows, and if you only have ONE, they remain easy. But as soon as you have two and you need to alter your watering schedule they become a Royal Payne-Diaz. Alas Orbit is the only game in town, so I ended up with four of these timers and would like to have two more. But I keep waiting for some sort of update or firmware patch to correct the many failings these have. I'm on my third year with these and I think I am waiting in vain.

Same thing. Having one of these is great. After the, it is a nightmare and the app is TERRIBLE. There are all of these zones and options that simply do not work. I have spent dozens of hours over three years trying anyway to configure multiple sprinklers for automated watering and it 110% is not an option. I even contacted Orbit and after working through about 5 different reps, the last one said its not possible and they are trying to update it to work. That was 2+ years ago - pretty sad :/

Did you buy the hub? I think that's needed for coordinating more than one unit
@christopherdahle9985
@christopherdahle9985 Жыл бұрын
@@pivotal1101 Yep, have the hub. Doesn't stay connected to the timers, my phone, or the computer application. The only thing that works is to carry my phone out to each timer and do a factory reset every time I need to change the watering schedule. Not a big deal for the lawn, but the plan had been to set a timer for the drippers at each of the raised garden beds and be able to quickly give, for example, the tomatoes an extra shot of water if they need it. I've set up dozens of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and x-bee radio-based devices over the years and never had any as temperamental as these stupid things.

Does it work away from home or do you have to be on your network?

With the Wifi Hub, yes you can control it anywhere on earth as long as there is a wifi connection in your house, and your Wifi Hub is close to your wireless sprinkler timer and is connected through a Bluetooth connection.

Can the scheduler be managed by multiple accounts at the same time, for example the gardener and his client? Thank you

Not sure if it’s possible on two different accounts but one account on multiple device yes

Funny how none of these two to set top videos actually show connecting to the wi fi hub. Can't get that to work.

It's literally 2 or 3 clicks once the hub is plugged in to pair it with the app... cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0489/2445/9176/files/21006-50_rB_1_1.pdf?v=1702663461

This thing will disconnect at the most inconvenient time, causing floods. I use it for my RV to fill my fresh water tank, and of course when the tank is full, you try to turn it off and it just loads forever just to give you an error message. Then you have overflowing and have to run out to the water source and manually shut it off. Not reliable at all. Happens often that this device looses connection. I suggest you look for something that is of higher quality!

this is designed as a sprinkler timer, using it for filling the tank is rather creative! sorry it doesn't work well for that regard, but it's been reliable watering our yards for years now.

Hello, my B-Hyve timer stopped working after almost 3 years, I just don't know why the valve doesn't open to water anything
@TheGizmoGarage
@TheGizmoGarage Жыл бұрын
Did you check the battery level? if battery is low on the timer, it will not open the valve to water.

@@TheGizmoGarage yes I did, I called the company and they said to get a new one. Everything tells me that it’s working fine, but the valve will not open even manually 🙃

I just bought the two pack combo from Costco. They are easy to set up, but the water pressure coming out of the smart hose is not as strong as without using them. I will return these useless things.
@TheGizmoGarage

They shouldn’t be restricting the pressure as they are purely pass through

I had them for two years. This year they stopped connecting via Wi-Fi and then Bluetooth. Customer support was non existent. I even updated the hub to the gen 2 and still nothing. I trashed it and went to the orbit wired system with Wi-Fi. Now my system works just fine.

How long do the batteries last? Anyone?
@TheGizmoGarage
@TheGizmoGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Depening on the frequency of watering, a few weeks to a few month. Use alkaline battery and avoid lithium, which costs 4x more and lasts just as long in those units.

The Wifi Hub setup is an extremely simple process that you just go to your Devices options in your B-Hyve app on your phone, click + to add a device and select Wifi Hub, the system guides you to get hub paired to your system within minutes.
