Any recommendations for a few apple trees getting water, is something like this doable or maybe something more robust? if considering adding a bit of a garden to them.

Hi @MattMannNaNa - Yes, this should be perfect, and would be what I would choose to use for a small garden. Just a couple of considerations. 1) the valve/controller will need to be in range of the Hub (plugs into a wall outlet) and the Hub will need to be in WiFi range. Beyond that, the valve/controller can be installed directly on the hose bib, or closer the your trees, so long as it is within wireless range of the Hub. Good luck and let us know how it goes! -Andy

Just picked one up today and was unable to connect the hub to the timer. Kept saying that the device wasn’t on so it wouldn’t connect. At first I thought that the brick outside was interrupting the connection so I moved the hub outside and still unable to connect. Returning tomorrow and getting another to see if I got a lemon. Really hoping this works out. Got it just for the Wi-Fi capabilities

Interesting. If you haven’t already, I’d try connecting it inside, like in your kitchen, or someplace with known good Wi-Fi, in a controlled environment. Remove the batteries and check the manual for any hard-reset options. Sometimes with gadgets a good power cycle can help reset/restore glitches. Perhaps someone else will comment here with a tip/trick.

@@Andy_Humphrey hey thanks for the response. I did exactly what you said last night and everything seemed to be connected but when I went out this morning to hook everything up, the device (timer) wouldn’t connect so I took a trip back to the hardware store and just replaced the unit. Got the new one set up and seems to be working fine. I’m pretty excited about this unit as I can control it through Wi-Fi. We’ll see how it works out in the long run of course. I had just a slight drop in water pressure with this unit but nothing a quick adjustment of the sprinkler heads couldn’t fix. So far so good. Thanks again mate

Is it possible to set up automatic rain delays on a custom program? I do not see this option in the custom settings

Will this tolerate direct sunlight? I live in Az and my spigot has morning direct sunlight but no afternoon. Also, does the app indicate current useage, IE open or closed and current flow? Thanks

Yes, it can tolerate direct sun, and will tell you that’s it’s running. Do not believe you can connect a flow sensor - I’ll check into that. It’d be great!

I am using a soaker hose with pressure reducing valve. Do I need to do the flow rate test? I am not concerned with managing due to rain so much as just want to water 16 linear feet of planter box for flowers.

16LF is a short length, you should have plenty of water. The flow rate is probably in the range of 0.5-1.0 gallons per minute based on your pressure.

I’ve had this for 3 years now. No problems until now. The timers will not stay connected to the hub. I can only connect one timer at a time. Instead of all being connected. I even tried updating to the gen 2 hub

Does it reduce the water pressure?

The controller does not have any pressure regulation built into it. The pressure is a problem, you should look for an in-line pressure regulator.

Absolutely. Quick connect fittings generally have hose threads on one end. Great idea!

@@Andy_Humphrey Can you explain why my metal quick connect will not allow any water flow when I attach it to the B-Hyve? It allows water flow when it’s attached straight to the wall but not after the B-Hyve.

You you text us a pic/video of your setup? 833-343-4590 (attention Andy). The only reason I can think of is that the B-Hyve is not turning on (opening). What you connect to the inlet or the outlet of the device shouldn't matter.

@@Andy_Humphrey Unfortunately water flows nicely out of the B-Hyve when I don't have the quick connect on it but as soon as I put the quick connect on it, no water flow. I'll send a picture of the setup when I get home later today. Thank you again for all your help!

@@Andy_Humphrey I have two hubs on opposite sides of the house and 5 timers that need two be programmed to different times because we are on a well and water is often scarce. (Two timers on one hub and the other 3 times on the opposite hub.). I cannot figure out how to program them using my phone app or my desk top computer ((apple).
