Have you used a proteam? I am looking for a good vacuum for my janitor business and I hear people say proteam but I don't want to spend the money. I think these vacuums are great but they get hard to push and don't have any tools or hose.

The blue colored PK8000 bags aren't really something I'd consider outside of large commercial applications. The green PK8000DW, are a better bag filtration wise, but either will be far less effective at filtering out dirt and maintaining suction compared to the HEPA bags.

The Oreck machine is good, just has very small bags. But honesty I'd recommend something like a base model Miele canister to go along with it. It would be a far more versatile and reliable machine for not much more. If you do go for the Oreck buy the commercial version from Amazon, it's only around $99 most of the time and the residential versions are highly overpriced. HEPA bags would also be best to use in it.

New they would have come with an extension. I'm sure the person that tossed yours took it off. Some models do come with a normal wired cord and others come with the pigtail, depends on model. Just grab any old grounded extension cord with the length you'd like and you'll be good to go.

@@FantomLightning OH ok was curious, and yes I have an extension already that worked perfectly.. 😁 Gave it a cleaning, New bag and outer bag lower clip since mine was gone and ordered a new roller and belt.. It's a 2014 very clean condition, I'm thrilled lol

Well, a couple things to check on the Orecks you have. Take a look at the four wheels on the base, are they rusty/bound up with thread or dirt/do they spin freely? If so see what you can do to get them loosened up. If they're still hard to push you could always try replacing the brushroll and belt. I think you can get a brushroll with a few belts for around $15 on Amazon. I'd start there, otherwise a lot of the time the best vacuum for a business that's used frequently is actually a backpack vacuum.

I like the backpacks but employees do not like them and would rather use a upright. I have tried a Panasonic but I don't like how once the back gets dirt in it the suction decreases dramatically. Sharks are great but they can not take the abuse of loading and unloading multiple times a day. Sanitaire works great but they are hard to use on runners in entrance ways. The Oreks seem to be the best that I have found for cost, bags hold a lot, and work great on runners. All of the models seem to be the same other than color, cord length and belt. So it looks like I may order a couple of the red ones since I already have a ton of bags for them.

In that case the Orecks probably are your best bet. Only other thing I could think of off the top of my head that I'd recommend for commercial use would be a Sebo. But you could get at least three of these Orecks for the price of one Sebo G2.

The dock should fight tightly against the fill tube. Make sure to take the metal retainer clip off if you haven't already. After that it's a bit of a pain to get the CC fully on, lay the machine on it's back and push the outer bag down as far as it will go. You should see a lip/ridge on the very bottom of the fill tube, the CC dock has to be pressed fully down over that. It takes quite a bit of force and spreading of the base of the CC dock. You really shouldn't have any movement/play at the portion of the CC dock attached to the fill tube when it's properly installed. If you still have issues with it after this let me know and I can put up a short video on it.

FantomLightning thanks for your help. I got it on there! I knew something didn’t feel right with it loose like that. I ended up removing the bottom part that flips open and sliding the other part down over that ridge after removing the pin. Then I put the bottom part back on. Now it’s nice and snug. We bought this vacuum based on your review and we couldn’t be happier. Also, thanks for the envirocare bag recommendation. We have 2 cats and a dog and now there are no odors when vacuuming! Do you happen to have any recommendations for a vac that I can use to dust?

I'm glad I was able to help! Depending on how much you want to spend, and the room you have to store the machine I'd say the following are the two best options. Oreck XL Pro 5 Canister: goo.gl/QFzh4T Small, compact, and dependable. This guy you toss over your shoulder with a strap, I've seen the price down to around $80-99 dollars, I wouldn't pay over $100 like it is now. Bags are a bit small because of the machine size, but you can get charcoal lined bags to avoid odors. Only problem is the charcoal ones are genuine only, and are a bit costly. Miele C1 Limited Edition: goo.gl/zdP3rw This guy will be larger, more powerful and more versatile. Plus the amount of accessories Miele has to make this guy the ultimate detail cleaner is insane. It's built in Germany, is basically the same machine as the S2 Delphi I've made a video on without a power nozzle, and will probably last for 20+ years easily being used as a second vacuum. Bags are also a bit pricey, but larger than the Oreck a pack also includes the filters you need for the machine. No carbon bags, but they're supposed to be coming to the US market soon. For now you have the option of a charcoal filter for about $40 a year. I wouldn't recommend generic bags for Miele, they tend to be poorly made and not fit well.

I ended up getting the Oreck XL Pro 5. I've used it a few weeks and I can say its a really nice machine. It's made of much more solid construction than I was expecting. The suction is very powerful and I have to use the tube that redirects the exhaust due to the power of the air coming out :) I got the charcoal lined bags that you recommended. No pet smells. I am very satisfied for what I use it for (dusting, furniture vacuuming, and edging) and if I didn't have my Oreck 2000-rb1 I wouldn't mind using it for hardwood floors either. Here are the questions I'd ask to decide. How much do you value the endurolife belt? Do you think it'll get caught on shoelaces, cables, kids toys, the edge of a rug often? If yes then I'd go for the red. Having the machine shut off and just being able to remove the jam, cycle the power and continue vacuuming vs dealing with a broken belt is a nice feature. As for bags, Oreck bags are huge and all are fairly cheap especially in generic, you're not going to generally save all that much with the cheaper bags and they're far worse performers. They let more dust back I to the air, they perform worse as they fill causing the machine to lose suction, and with kids and the likely hood of food/snack messes I'd guess the odor reduction from the HEPA bags with carbon would make a difference. Though even if you get a cheaper HEPA cloth bag without the carbon for odors they'll still perform better in everyway than the paper otherwise.

I want to supplement it with a lighter upright, and it looks like the endurolife version might be best. In terms of bags, are the ones you listed in the description box from envirocare - Hepa? These are the only ones I was able to find up here in Canada in my price range. Actual Oreck with Hepa label one them are about $70 per pack of 6, so not an option as I vacuum a lot. Thank you!

@@ninamironova Oof yeah if you're in Canada the cost is going to be crazy. I wouldn't even bother with the Oreck genuine bags. The Envirocare bags and most other generic bags that are made of synthetic cloth won't say HEPA, they likely meet the standard but companies have to pay to have them HEPA certified so the companies simply don't. The Envirocare are the closest I've found to the Oreck genuine since they have the odor eliminating carbon. But any synthetic cloth "HEPA" bags will highly out perform the paper. I'd just find whatever is cheapest/easiest to get in/to Canada. You'll also need to get the style CC dock if you're planning on using CC style bags including the paper CC.

None of the commercial models do. It has to be purchased separately.
