Perfect conditions with visibility over 20 feet. These types of conditions are unheard of for the Oregon Coast. Fishing was done at Barview Jetty in Garibaldi, Oregon.

well, it's partly your fault Borce: yours and Ms Werner's;-) but got a new 7mm on the way so I can get my gills rehab`d again. I may have to get licensed in OR since most of our WA fishing is closed down for the season. The ol` 3 prong's ready to go though! Thanks for the videos, and it's clear how much you love doing this! Gives me more motivation, so keep posting!!!

I've always been interested in trying freedive spearfishing. I live in Tillamook and fish the jetty often with a pole. But really wanna try this. What would you recommend doing in order to start? I have a 5mm wetsuit already, good flippers and mask. I think I need a speargun, good knife, and to just practice on a calm day during slack tide? Do you worry about boats getting too close without dragging a flag or buoy?
@borce325 жыл бұрын
nintendude1988 sounds like you have decent amount of gear. Make sure you get some weights as well for buoyancy since the wetsuit makes you float like a balloon. It will be hard to get down without weights. I would honestly start out in a pool or in a lake, somewhere where the tide wont mess with you so you can get used to your gear and get comfortable in the water. Also start watching youtube videos on improving breath holds and proper dive techniques. Safety is the most important thing so take your time and dont rush it. Tides this time of year get pretty strong so you really need to he careful if you are planning on going out. If you need any other info feel free to email or dm me. @@borce32 thank you, how would you compare that with a riffe or aimrite I'm having a hard time choosing
@borce325 жыл бұрын
@@tlpoutdoorsman honestly I haven't used a riffe or aimrite so I couldn't tell you. I think its all about preference and whatever you like best. All guns are very similar. What kind of spearfishing do you want to mainly use it for? I have 3 different guns for different spearfishing. If you 're planning on doing anything in bad visibility you would not want anything larger than a 38.

Hey Borce, I'm moving to Portland in August 2020 and will be looking to get back into the spearfishing game. I'm totally new to the area so I'll be needing to find some dive buddies. Hmu if you want to plan a trip!

Would I need a license and tags to fish there?
@borce327 жыл бұрын
Tucker Ridge Guitars You need an annual angling license which is $38 if you live in Oregon. Just make sure to follow the rules and limits on fish. 2 lingcod per day.
